After nearly 15 years of Inquisition Rule a suitable heir has come to age to be given the title of Emperor. Emperor Anthony of Belem has been crowned today at the age of 25 after serving in the Inquisition for 2 years(required to be crowned emperor.) As of yet no crown prince has been named. Emperor Anthony is a first cousin once removed to the late Emperor.
In other news most of the 500 protesters were trialed. They were arrested last week for protesting in front of a weapons production plant that specialized in producing aircraft munitions. They were protesting against the production of bombs capable of spreading Chemical and Biological weapons. The protesters were swiftly arrested by local police and soldiers in service of the Inquisition. The ringleaders have been sentenced to execution and other protesters have been setenced between 15 years to life in prison.
In response to the protests one of the Emperors first decrees is a crackdown on wacko environmentalist groups. It is believed that there are over 20 thousand people across Belem who belong to these groups. The Inquisition has already promised within 2 months the threats to the Empire will be eliminated.
