I've finally reached the point where my nation can have an impact... now, should I join the forces of good, or the forces of evil?

I vote for the forces of neither. After all, isn't every issue shaded in gray rather than black and white?

Be true to your in character nation.

Yeah, Iansisle's right, stick to your nation's character. You can always have an election/coup/revolution and change it anyway. Although I did have fun playing the evil slightly off-balance warlord...

Re-reading my post, I can see it may have come off as slightly abrasive, and I would like to apologize for that. I'm in a bad mood, and I didn't mean it to come out with quite that tone.

I reccommend taking a path like that of me, where you appear to be good or evil depending on who looks at you and in what light. Almost mercenary-like, but not really.

It just looked like you were being straightforward to me, which I do all the time. If that offends people, then well shoot, I've got a lot of appologising to do.

If I ever posted, that's probably how I would sound...

There is no such thing. You should not be "evil" just because you want to be. If you have your characters acting evily, do it for a good reason. And most evil people do not know that they are evil, or at least do it for a reason. Take one of my favorite evil characters, Raistlin Majere (Dragonlance books).

Also, if you are going to be "good" do not be the simple good character. Have a reason for it. Have flaws in your character. For example, although two characters may be "good" characters, a rightous paladin stays to his code of honor constantly, might have a heated arguement, possibly even a fight with someone who simply follows their morals and heart, because they might be able to see that those rules are inflexible.

Just food for thought. Just because you are on the "good team" does not mean you have to constantly work together because you are, and if you are on the "evil team" does not mean you have to work together because you are (in fact, should your character be in the mind for doing it, they might betray thier own side for more power).

It is the details in the characters which makes it interesting.
