A Challenge to Lady Sirithril (ATTENTION: MENELMACAR)

The Trojan Empire

::The transmission opens and an image of an elderly man, wearing a purple, ornate himation and golden crown encrusted with bright jewels of many colors types, appears::

Transmission To: Elentári Sirithril of the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar
Transmission From: King Priam III of the Imperial Kingdom of Troy

Greetings, milady, I send you greetings from the famed city of Troy. I would elongate the introduction of my speech to you, but time is running short and I shall deliver what must be said now. 'Tis a wise choice to listen to my proposal that I shall present to you now.

For years, a bitter argument over the issue of Elven rights has raged with numerous wars emerging from such an issue. Thousands of men are dying due to the deaths of dozens of elves. True, Troy does acknowledge that many of these elves are slaughtered needlessy -- mostly to challenge Menelmacar to a battle. Ignorance dominates these rulers' minds, but you too are just as guilty of genocide as they are. You have justified the deaths of, perhaps, twenty-five elves, with the lives of three-thousand men. Furthermore, you seem to advocate -- encourage -- other nations to do as you do unto these haters of elves. Too much blood has been spent over this issue, and Troy has tired of watching our people suffer under you thirst for human death. Troy will no longer tolerate this unacceptable practice. Yet neither side can agree to cease the warfare that erupts nearly annually of whom is responsible. Who is to blame, per se.

::He stands up, leaving his throne and paces back and forth::

Thus, I offer you this proposal to resolve this needless war. Troy is willing to make sacrifices. We are prepared to slay elves for the horrors they have unleashed upon mankind. We challenge you to a singular battle whereas both you and I would be commanding the armies. Both you and I will be on the fields when the first movement of infantry commences. However, this would not be a battle of rifles or high-ordinace bombs. No, innocent lives will not be spent over one deciding battle. We shall meet each other using the weapons of the old: the sword and shield, the bow and arrow. The ashen spear and the charge of men and elves riding atop their noble steeds. No, magic potions or spells or even modern-day technology is to be adminstered the soldiers fighting each other on this battlefield. After discussing this with the Council of the Elders, we agreed to make one exception: morphine may be applied to dying troops or those in extreme pain.

::He stroked his milk-white beard::

And to assure that this proposal is agreed to, we have prepared an extra surprise for thee.

::A malevolent smile swept across his wrinkled face::

Five hundred elves residing in Troy, both male and female, have been imprisoned. If you do not comply with our proposal, they will suffer the consequences.

::The image pans to an elven female among a group of eight elves; she is naked and her wrists are bound together. Priam walks toward her::

The males will be slain by sword, the women will be raped then hung before the Imperial Palace. If you wish to spare their lives, you will meet us in the battlefield.

::He squeezes the elf's face, her chin resting in the palm of his hand; he draws her face closer to his and delivers a soft kiss to her cheek; the guards enter the scene and goad her and the rest away out of the great hall::

So pretty is she. It would be a shame if such beauty was thrown away. Respond to this transmission and further details will be discussed.

I have spoken, heed my word.

::The image fades away and the transmission ends::

OOC: I agree with Mintar, Menelmacar's primary policy regarding Elves being abused seems to be a bit on the "overkill" side of things. I'd be in the market for a really big umbrella if I was you. ;)

<OOC: Not so... we've made a recent space force addition to our nation prior to this... beside, I think this RP has potential, and if she eludes it by resorting to the n00bish style of "I blow you up with my big guns"... well my respect for her will be gone forever. Keep OOC comments down until she responds. Anyway, the elves are being held in high urban centers and several important military bases.>

OOC: Interesting, interesting. How many troops would be in each of the two opposing armies? And what does Siri get if she wins? She will expect nothing less than rulership over Troy, given that since her and Priam would be actually on the field, it's entirely likely one or the other will die (though I OOCly really don't want to kill Siri off, and I'd grant the same consideration to you if you feel likewise about Priam).

OOC: Is this one on one, or is there an OOC prevention of interference. If not, THeallas might intervene... He considers Siri a bit lower than Morgoth right now, but to save a group of elves, he might just help her... Same here though, I kinda don't want Theallas to get killed.

<OOC: I was thinking several thousand each. Maybe 10,000. And if Siri wins... well, yes, Troy would become a vassal state of some sort to Menelmacar. How do I know you aren't simply going to kill the Elves anyway, regardless of the outcome?

It comes to our attention that a needless battle is proposed to decide the issue of the so-called "elven problem" in Troy. We confess to being mystified as to the purpose of such a battle, and deplore the senseless waste of life, both human and elven.

Although we are allied to Menelmacar through treaty, we consider ourselves neutral in these matters. We have no stake in the outcome of the battle or the well-being of the elven population in Troy. We are interested in maximum stability among our neighbours and allies, and we feel that a satisfactory arrangement can be reached without the need for battle. We therefore offer ourselves (or can find more neutral parties, if desired) as mediators in talks between Troy and Menelmacar. We feel that a peaceful resolution will be far more beneficial than a costly battle, however limited.

We eagerly await your response.

Firstly, we'd like to know why you'd ally yourselves with such a bloodthirsty wench. You claim to be defenders of freedom and civil rights, yet you endorse the endless slaughter of human lives over the deaths of dozens of elven lives... at MOST. Peace is not an option. If Siri and her slaves did not value elven lives over their human counterparts, then there would be no quarrel between us. But there is.

Ahahahahahaha! Aren't you elves and elf-huggers supposed to be the better ones? The more honorable and more virtuous? To place the blame on mankind is idiotic, nevertheless. Why? Because we do not slaughter THOUSANDS of elves at any one time. Siri and her goons slaughter THOUSANDS of men by the hour. Do not misunderstand me, Priam. I understand you well enough. You see the Elves as a threat, and you would seek to end that threat by cutting off the head of the monster. Even if you succeed and your people manage to overwhelm the Mornahosse, you forget that this monster is like the Hydra. It has lost heads before, and it is not dead. If anything, it will prod the monster into fiercer and more aggressive acts than before.

However, even beyond this I see the act of an old man who fears to die quietly, peacefully. You, the white-haired old man, challenge Sirithil to battle, no doubt envisioning yourself slaying her with your own, decrepit hand. Your sword may have been keen once, Priam, but age is no respecter of persons. I therefore implore you not to throw away the lives of ten thousand of good men in a petty act of vanity.

Firstly, we'd like to know why you'd ally yourselves with such a bloodthirsty wench. I am allied with Menelmacar in part because like age and death, I am no respecter of persons. Even before I became bound to that nation through the Triumvirate of Yut, I agreed to peaceful trade and communication, just as I trade and communicate with her mortal enemy, Lord Morgoth. For you see, I do believe that peace is possible. All that is required is for people of good faith to sit down and discuss the options rationally.

I claim nothing of defending freedom and civil rights. I claim to be interested in peace between nations and races. War is bad for business. Conflicts such as this merely stir up carefully harboured resentments and fan them into killing flames. Peace is always an option, provided you allow for the opportunity. That you dismiss it without even discussing it says to me you're far less interested in protecting the rights and lives of Men in favour of killing Elves. Do not insult me by suggesting they are one and the same thing; they are very different goals, and you give only lip service to one while pursuing the other.

You seem intent on killing yourself, Priam, which is fine. You also seem intent on bringing down as many good men and Elves with you as possible, which is a crime. I care not a whit for you or your Empire except for how your loss may destabilise the region. I urge you to come to your senses and at least sit down at mediation before pursuing your madness.

-The Imperial Kingdom of Troy-I have seen the concentration camps my dear King. Concentration camps built by men to hold those different from them. The needless slaughter of elves simply because they were elves. And I have seen the same done to man by his fellow man. Keep in mind that your comparision of Lady Sirithil to Hitler would not be possible if it weren't for the very nature of mankind.

One must realize that we; humans, elves, orks, EI, and all sentients alike share these burdens. Your approach of holding innocents, who's only crime was to be of a race you are at odds with is as reckless and strong armed as Sirithil can be. For all you know, these elves you hold could disagree with Sirithil's policies more than you do, yet you still hold them and threaten them because their of a different race.

Sirithil's strong armed approach is understandable. When seemingly everyone despises you for being you, one becomes edgy and irritable.

You speak of honor, yet you hold innocents and threaten their lives to get your way.
Where is the honor in that?
Where is the glory, the profound meaning of existence found in true honorable combat?

As a beggar lacks money in their life, you lack honor in your actions.
It is not enough to wave the crimson flag of honor, one must live by its codes, swear to its truths, and maintain it always.

As the codes of the Knight tell us,
Thou shalt respect all people's weaknesses and constitute thyself the defender of them, and Thou shalt maintain thine honor and dignity always.

Release your hostages and regain your honor.

I hear your words, and see in you the very thing you accuse the Lady Sirithil of. Acts of cruelty, senseless bloodshed, and pettiness. And hatred. Do you hate all non human races? Do you fear because you know in the depths of your shriveled dishonorable soul that you are inferior, and seek to lash out in the only way you know how?

I agree with my ally Devon Treznor. What you propose is to send thousands of people to gruesome, painful, and wasted deaths. I also do not hear truth in your words concerning the safety of your hostages. You resort to such dirty tactics to force Lady Sirithil to this act, what guarantee is there that you will adhere to your own rules? Trust must be earned, and you have failed spectacularly on that score.

I sincerely hope that you change your mind about this suicidal course of action, and hope that, if you do not, that you die abandoned, alone, and in dishonor. May the Goddess bind you with the Chain and destroy you with the Axe.

((OOC: Since everybody is responding to what I believed to be for Siritihil's eyes only.))

There is no Honor to be gained in the battle that Priam desires. For he relies on hostages, hostages of whom he has made it clear he would quite willingly and perhaps even gladly torture.

None the less, there is a modicum of truth to his words and his proposal for the battle is far better than an all out military battle where both use their most advanced technology, an event that would have led to an massacre without a doubt.

The only who will die in such a battle are those who are ready and willing, not the innocent or uninvolved. But the means with which, king Priam wishes for this to happen are beyond dubious.

I urge king Priam to release his hostages from the threat of torture at the least if nothing else and to offer lady Sirithil that bit of faith to show she has the Honpr to keep her word and in the process prood that he himself possesses some true Honor as well.

If anything, it will prod the monster into fiercer and more aggressive acts than before.

This is a battle concerning the future of men and elves. An end to the genocide of men by elves. It is a simple concept, dear Emperor. I, for once, would like to see Siri come out of her throne room and practice what she preaches; for her to leave the comfortable safety of a thousand imperial guards. For her to put an end to her cowardice.

I may not be as swift with the sword as I once was was, but the spirit of my forefathers and the grace of Pallas Athena shall carry me into to battle with the strength I need to lead my people to victory. Lives are not being wasted, they are being spent, though unfortunately, to defeat a monster and end the slaughter forever. That, my friend, is worth the fight. And you seem to imply that we Trojans will lose. Why is that? Do you see us as inferior beings?

I am allied with Menelmacar in part because like age and death, I am no respecter of persons. Even before I became bound to that nation through the Triumvirate of Yut, I agreed to peaceful trade and communication, just as I trade and communicate with her mortal enemy, Lord Morgoth. For you see, I do believe that peace is possible. All that is required is for people of good faith to sit down and discuss the options rationally.

Ah, a filthy man devoid of loyalty you are indeed. I shall laugh my heartilty the day this choice comes back to haunt you when war rages. War is inevitable, my friend. You cannot hide from it.

I claim nothing of defending freedom and civil rights. I claim to be interested in peace between nations and races. War is bad for business. Conflicts such as this merely stir up carefully harboured resentments and fan them into killing flames. Peace is always an option, provided you allow for the opportunity. Do not insult me by suggesting they are one and the same thing; they are very different goals, and you give only lip service to one while pursuing the other.

What will peace accomplish when nothing is intended to be lost in the first place? Twenty thousand lives at most will perish, but a much bigger objective will be accomplished through this battle. Peace only elongates the period of slaughter and war over the issue of elves.

Dying for a just cause to put an end to worldwide slaughter is plausible. My men are ready to die to preserve the lives of their people, worldwide -- as am I.

"Do I place blame? Or do I merely observe and speculate upon that which comes to my eyes?
True, thousands of men have died, after only a few hundred elves are murdered. However, those "slaughtered" men are slaughtered in war. War which they bring upon themselves by the needless murder of elves. Does anyone find men hung and tortured in the elven cities? Nay. Instead, men blame elves for murder, when the only murder commited has been done by men, so eager for blood and war.
Perhaps man brings on himself the very thing he so avidly uses as reason for the deaths of others..."

Those hundreds of elves are slaughtered in war, too, you buffoon! Have you ever considered why these despots would purposely execute elves and make it international news? They are yearning for war. Yet, Lady Siri shows her nobility by responding with complete ortillery strikes against civilian population centers. People who had NOTHING to do with the execution of those elves. The elves, on the other hand, chose to stay in a nation hostile to their people. They KNEW the consequences of living there. It is their OWN fault.

I have seen the concentration camps my dear King. Concentration camps built by men to hold those different from them. The needless slaughter of elves simply because they were elves. And I have seen the same done to man by his fellow man. Keep in mind that your comparision of Lady Sirithil to Hitler would not be possible if it weren't for the very nature of mankind.

True, psychotic men have done such heinous crimes against people who are different from them. But it is to my understanding that Lady Siri is not psychotic. She has the choice to diplomatically attempt to resolve these problems. She's extraordinarily wealthy; she could easily pay for their release. Instead, she follows her usual source of sexual arousement and slaughters innocents. I have had enough of this bullshit. She's had her chance to use diplomacy before and she failed to do so.

Ugh. You seem to misunderstand. Men suffer the greatest out of all these species. Men. Elves die in the dozens. Orcs couldn't care less if they died. AI and EI (whatever that may be...) are not killed, for they are manufactured. It is their creator's choice to do to them whatever he or she wishes. Men, however, suffer endlessly at the hands of elves, orcs, AI, and other men. Elf-huggers alike seem to only care about the well-being of elves when men suffer much more in greater quantities in more places.

These innocents have yet to be harmed. Their purpose is simple: to force Lady Siri into this duel. The duel to decide the fate of men and elves alike. I hold them because of the simple fact that Lady Siri only meddles with international affairs if elves are threatened. Thus, the only way to draw her into this battle was to capture and hold prisoner these elves. Understand?

Sirithil's strong armed approach is understandable. When seemingly everyone despises you for being you, one becomes edgy and irritable.

You speak of honor, yet you hold innocents and threaten their lives to get your way.
Where is the honor in that?
Where is the glory, the profound meaning of existence found in true honorable combat?

Honor? Sometimes one must reluctantly sacrifice honor to pursue a just cause. Yet, Sirithril desposes of the thought of honor in all of her actions. Besides, I have already discussed the prisoners' purpose in this tale. There is no need for me to repeat myself.

Do you enjoy repeating the same message over and over again?

Release your hostages and regain your honor.

Sorry, this cannot be done.

A single elf has yet to be killed or abused. How is that bloodshed? No, I do not hate all non-humans; I detest those who treat humans like trash. And do not whine to me how the poor little elves are being killed. Their deaths are only a shred of what we humans have had to endure. Toughen up. Me? Inferior? Shriveled soul? HA! You have only soldified my goal. By saying that men are inferior. Do you see? You treat human beings like trash. Never have I called elves inferior, yet you constantly bombard the race of men with these comments of our inferiority. Utter bullshit.

You elf-huggers always seem to agree, regardless of what is happening. These hostages are safe; do you know why? Because I need them to alive and kicking to keep Lady Siri interested within this challenge. And trust? You have placed your own trust within the wretched hands of elf-huggers. The ones who slaughter ten times the number of innocent humans than elves. Hmm. Don't you see a flaw in your logic?

I sincerely hope that you change your mind about this suicidal course of action, and hope that, if you do not, that you die abandoned, alone, and in dishonor. May the Goddess bind you with the Chain and destroy you with the Axe.

What makes you think that in a battle with two evenly matched armies, that we would lose? How is this suicide? In my opinion, I believe Lady Siri relies too much on developing her genocidal spaceships than training her soldiers in the art of the sword, shield, spear, and bow!

Empty minds think alike. I have discussed this numerous times already. The hostages are safe, honor was reluctantly dismissed in this rare incident, and the hostages will not be released.

"After I heard about the deeds and the words of this human King, my heart jumped of happiness. My best wishes to Lady Sirithil, so she could smash her foes into battle. I have sent our most precious treasures with this letter, that our people recovered through the ages with hard work and risk. As I think that you'll use your own sword, I have sent Aeglos, the spear wielded by Gil-Galad, and Belthronding, the great bow of the Sindarin, once used by our greatest warrior, Beleg Cúthalion, so you could use it in battle against that proud and foolish King of the humans. The greatest gifts for our greatest hero".

ShadowPrince Kithail Hyral
(The message is encrypted using Sindarin and Quenya alike so only the most talented elven translators could read it. With the message an ancient bow and a spear, clearly reforged and repaired by crafty hands, was sent to the Lady of the Menelmacari, in fact the greatest bow of the Sindarin, Belthronding, and the fabled spear Aeglos, wielded by Gil-Galad against Sauron).

"Also, if the battle is finally to take place. Can I ask to be one of the five thousands warriors under your banner?, to represent my nation in this battle of men against elves. My days as ruler are finishing, and my days as warrior are getting started. History says that once the greeks assaulted Troy's walls, many Princes walking alongside them to help them. I offer my arm in this fight, if it is worth of fighting alongside the Lady of the Elves"

((Just for OOC reference: "I believe Lady Siri relies too much on developing her genocidal spaceships than training her soldiers in the art of the sword, shield, spear, and bow!" Certainly the MIDF do use swords (thanks to the weight of elven swords, they're hardly difficult to carry) if not the others. "Yet, Lady Siri shows her nobility by responding with complete ortillery strikes against civilian population centers." This is untrue, despite paying close attention to elven affairs on NS since feb 2003, I've yet to see Sirithil deliberately target civilians.))

King Priam

As I consider myself a personal friend of Lady Sirithil, Priam, I shall make whatever scant efforts I can to shoot down some of the laughable claims you have brought up. Lady Sirithil most certainly does not derive sexual arousal from the slaughter of innocents. Your filthy slander is not only crude it is also offensive, please refrain from further such outbursts of dementia, and hand over your nation to some successor less likely to cloud international communications with such dishonourable character slurs.

Furthermore, you claim that she can pay for the release of captured elves is blatantly untrue. I have yet to discover a situation where such a thing was possible, the small, infantile, hate-controlled minds behind the persecution of the elven people are entirely beyond such persuasion. When one kills elves because of jealousy, xenophobia, or other such reasons, one is not doing it for money.

Additionally, you complain about the attitude other peoples take to humans, but your infantile solution to your problems - blame the elves - does you no credit at all. If you seek the protection of humans from those who would exploit them, then perhaps you should take action against those who do exploit your people, rather than those who merely seek to protect their own from abuse

<OOC: As you said, just about everything Priam says is either slander, propaganda, or exaggerated... his son is much more clear-headed...>

IC: My response to this is simple and blunt, dear elf-hugger. If Lady Siri does not gain arousement from murdering thousands of humans, then what is the point of her striking major cities to retrieve prisoners or deliver retribution to the opposing nation? Why does she excessively attack? She could easily end the conflict through the uses of ground forces or even special forces. Much less blood is spilt in that manner. Yet, she does no such thing.

I've NEVER seen Sirithril offer a cash payment to those tyrants. Never. If she actually tried perhaps they would change their minds... Hmm? Besides, why would those men risk their power and their lives by murdering several elves if they did not wish to retrieve something in return? Huh?

I'm not blaming the elves. I'm blaming those who kill in the name of elvenkind.

I rest my case.

I am sorry, milady. For you see, although I hate to admit it, I cannot move as swiftly as thee. Age has ravaged my limbs, while you remain as youthful as a strong chap. That is the difference between elves and men, we suffer from the works of time and age. An unfair fight would be it indeed. My offer stands unless you can persuade me otherwise. I must applaud the Lady Sirithil's concern with preserving those lives, although even one death would be a tragedy.

Lady Siri, I am an old man; this was not in my original plans and my mind is in a constant motion of disarray. I am willing to fight you, but a fair fight it would be not. That is why I asked if my dear Aeneas could fight in my stead against you. I could not allow my sons Alexandros or Hector fight; my years are numbered and an heir or two to the throne it direly needed. It pains me that age has diminshed my rate of movement, for I lust to meet you head-on in battle. If you do not wish to include champions, then so be it. The original offer is accepted, under the condition that I may hurl the first spear at thee. You are mobile and agile, I'm sure you wouldn't mind, it would greatly even out the battle. Remember, you need not to be unarmored; shield and shining armor may be worn for self-protection (though modern armor is totally out of the question).

A single elf has yet to be killed or abused.

Not all abuse and torture leave marks on the skin. I see fellow sentients in fear, cowering at an uncertain fate in the hands of a man who blames everyone else for the problems of the world.

You have only soldified my goal. By saying that men are inferior. Do you see? You treat human beings like trash. Never have I called elves inferior, yet you constantly bombard the race of men with these comments of our inferiority. Utter bullshit.

I treat people like trash? Then explain the great Dividing War of my nation, where reploids- EI- and humans fought side by side to create a better nation, and why reploids, humans, Nekoites, and elves coexist as equals in my nation today. Trash indeed. Perhaps trash has a different meaning in our nations, if the humans of my nation are treated like trash, as you say. Yes, trash that lives in peace, free to make their own way through life, to seek their dreams without fear. Yes, the men of my nation are so very poorly treated.

You have placed your own trust within the wretched hands of elf-huggers. The ones who slaughter ten times the number of innocent humans than elves. Hmm. Don't you see a flaw in your logic?

And how often have men done horrible acts to merit such retribution? You fail to see that the blame does not lie solely in one or the other- both sides have comitted atrocities. People kill elves out of fear, or to arouse Sirithil to anger, she renders them militarily incapable. (I have yet to see evidence of her targeting civilians, or holding hostages.) This only further breeds a cycle of hatred. Instead of debasing yourself, why not take the high road? Instead of placing the entire blame on elves, send aid to nations that have been beaten, help the men rebuild, instead of sending even more to die.

What makes you think that in a battle with two evenly matched armies, that we would lose? How is this suicide? In my opinion, I believe Lady Siri relies too much on developing her genocidal spaceships than training her soldiers in the art of the sword, shield, spear, and bow!

You are overconfident, and therein lie the fertile seed of defeat. You are overconfident that she does not train her forces in the ancient arts of war, yet you think this with no proof the back it up. What will happen, if an army of experianced men go to war overconfident, and face down an army of experiance elves, who live far longer and have far more experiance in what they do. You forget, that elves live far longer than men, they have fought wars using only the art of the sword, shield, spear, and bow, ages before there existed aircraft, gravships, and weapons of mass destruction. Genocide, you say? Then, praytell, why is Sirithil and her people allied to many human nations? If she sought to destroy the race of man, don't you think she would have done it by now?

Go forward with your single combat- the peoples of the Immortal Shogunate will not interfere, but go to your petty war, throw away your life and spill your blood, and do so knowing it is with my greatest contempt.

SECRET
The dungeon room was dark. Incredibly dark. It was damp, too, and the smell of the air was enough to send vomit forth from your mouth and tears from your eyes. Rats scurrying across the floor was a common sight. Each prehistoric cell was lined up one next to the other, with about ten elves to each cell. All in all, about one hundred of the captured elves were held in this undisclosed location; but its living conditions were no better nor no worse than its counterparts spread all over the nation in various population centers and major military bases.

They were all naked and bruises from whippings laced their backs, arms, and legs. Scars tore across these areas, too, signifying excessive beatings. A bowl of putrid water and a loaf of rotten bread was all that was rationed to each cell for the week. Often rats would sneak into your cell while you were sleeping and steal the unguarded bread. Because of this, sleep was a rare sight. It didn't really matter though if one attained sleep; there were no beds -- just a few ragged pillows and a dirty blanket for each group.

Cough... cough

"Shut yer mouth you damn pointy-eared bitch!"

"Fuck you, asshole!"

"What was that?" responded the guard as he walked towards the courageous firebrand's cell.

"I said fuck you! You can't stop a person from coughing, especially in these unbearable living conditions you provide us with!"

"If it was up to me, wench, I'd have hung all yer necks faster than you can say Lady Sirithril!"

"Lady Sirithril," she mumbled quietly.

"A troublemaker, I see. Well, perhaps a few whippings will bring you back in line, eh? Maybe I should just put a bullet in yer head!"

"Kill me... and you're fanatical leader's ploy to kill Siri in battle is all but dead. With me dead, she has an excellent excuse to go right ahead and bomb the living snot out of this horrid land!"

"And how would she find out, my dear pointy-eared friend?"

She rolled her eyes, "Once you're supposed to return us, dumbass! She'll count one elf short and when she discovers that you killed that elf: she'll be furious over the fact that you honorable Trojan bastards broke the agreement!"

The guard was clearly staring at the naked elf maliciously now and a smile crept across his masked face.

"Perhaps, perhaps, I should do something a little less intense. Come with me now, wench!"

He opened the cell, while two other guards aimed their rifles at the huddled elves in their nude splendor, and grabbed the dissenter's wrist... tightly. Dragging her along after hearing the door slam shut, he threw her into an abandoned room: his own bedroom. There in this room sat a bed, a lamp, and a great chest. Across the walls hung magnificient axes, shields, and other weapons from the days of old.

Would she push me aside and take the weapons for herself; slaying me? he thought to himself quickly. No, she's too weak. Vulnerable. Proceed. he answered himself in thought.

She was staring at him oddly now, panting from exhaustation. He advanced; it was clear that evil was stirring in his dark eyes.

A scream shrilled from behind the closed doors... the rape of the elven people had begun.

Name the date, and I'll make time in my schedule to be there.

I warn you though, Lord Priam- hold to honor, for if you fail to uphold your end of this 'agreement' with Lady Sirithil, her gravships will arrive only to find their task already completed.

Scoundrel, huh? That's a first, usually people call me the calm rational one, and Firefury-sama the wicked incarnation of Chaos itself.

And I mean this in all seriousness- when Firefury-sama warns to hold to honor, I would heed that. The last time someone broke honor in matters involving her, an entire nation fell before her.

Imperial Palace, Arpia (OOC knowledge to all you guys.)

"I do not like this. It stinks of a trap, and this guy doesn't strike me as the sort to give a rat's ass about keeping promises." Firefury paces her sparse quarters.

"Which is why you want me to attend as well?" Tsume flexes his large talons, checking the sharpness on the metal weapons.

"Bingo. My arm cannon will serve me well if it comes to a firefight, and I've seen the havoc you're capable of when necessary. And I somehow doubt this twat is well-versed in reploid capabilities, otherwise I doubt he would have invited me to witness, or allowed you to tag along." The orange clad reploid grabs a katana from the wall- a very fine weapon she had purchased some time ago, and tests the weapon's balance. "I don't doubt Siri can kick this guy's keister any day of the week and twice on Sunday, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's got some tricks up his sleeves."

"Should I call in some Drakos models to inflitrate?" Tsume tips his head slightly.

"Yeah... assemble a small unit of Drakos reploids. And the Queens of the Sky unit. They won't leave the Queen's Wing unless things go to pot, but they are coming along to make an entrance, and to escort my ship." Firefury nods slowly. "And give orders to the Tengai fleet to be ready, with the Tenmou battleships armed for orbital bombardment, just in case I have to make good on that threat. And have Tengoku station pass along the news to whichever TEF is in the Earth Sphere right now."

Tsume pauses for a moment. "This whole affair really has you steamed, doesn't it? It's not generally like you to threaten to employ Sirithil-class tactics against somebody. I mean, ortillery?"

"If it was a simple challenge to a duel, I wouldn't be so torqued off. It's these hostages that have me fried. He's proven already to have blatant disregard to honor, why should I trust him to hold to anything else?" She sheathes the katana with a sound click. "Few things piss me off like someone breaking honor, and I would be willing to bet money that those hostages are not as unharmed as he claims. Why else do you think I'm taking the Queen's Wing and not just my fighter? She's a diplomatic ship, but she is also intended to serve as a warship if needed."

"Let's just hope it doesn't come to that. No matter how just the cause, orting the everloving crap out of another nation's military infrastructure is not going to look good on the Shogunate's track record." Tsume sighs and shakes his head. "And neither will the military occupation you oh-so-nicely threaten in ancient Keeperspeak there."

((OOC: I figured as such- the ship and fighter escort would be limited to a designated landing pad I would imagine- away from the throne room, but still possibly near enough for a swift getaway (at least, swift as the dragon flies). "Sir, we've been alerted by Tengoku Station of Shogunate fleet movements."

Sky Marshal Charles Blair rubs his chin thoughtfully. "Concerning the recent wang-fencing between our good Lady Sirithil and the good King Priam?" he asks dryly.

"Yes, sir."

"It's a trap, you know," the Sky Marshal says as he turns to his seat, green cape flapping gently before he sits down. "I guess we're supposed to play the 'big stick' and ensure it isn't one?"

"Apparently so, sir. TYCSHQ orders confirm."

"Well then." Blair half-smirks. "FleetCom, inform the Fifth that we're moving out. Alert Condition Zero. Strategy, I want you to coordinate with weapons. I want ordinance allocated for every major military complex in that kingdom, first priority being anything of a particularly strategic nature such as ICBM silos or airfields or aerospace defenses. Essentially, I want a beheading plan by Sunday."

"Acting, sir."

The ships of the Fifth Triumvirate Expeditionary Force ply their way into a new orbit, one that will put them over the Trojan Empire at before the right time on Sunday. Then they can hit station-keeping and wait.

"The gifts of Aelosia, milady," Lady Serendis said softly, carrying in a long, somewhat narrow wooden case... very long, almost seven feet.

"Thank you, Serendis," Sirithil said with a nod, accepting the case, setting it carefully on the desk. She opened it slowly.

"Ahh... so it is true... I could not forget these weapons. They will make fine companions to Hope's Descent." She reached in, carefully drawing the spear Aeglos, the spear of Ereinion Gil-galad nos Fingolfin, from the case, testing its balance. "Fine companions indeed..." Equally carefully, she returned the spear to its place, drawing out now the bow, Belthronding, once wielded by Beleg Cúthalion of Doriath. She turned, smiling, to the Prefect of Defense. "With these in hand, I cannot fail..."

She pondered a moment, her smile fading. "But just in case of treachery, I want you to move four fleets over Troy immediately, but keep them in a high orbit. Compute low-orbit shooting solutions for all elements of the Trojan government and military infrastructure. When the duel begins, move the fleet into firing position... should I be betrayed and killed, you are authorized to immediately begin bombardment, and the wholesale annihilation of any Trojan capability to wage war. Maglor is, of course, my successor."

"Yes, milady," Serendis said with a slight bow. "It shall be done."

Sightseeing with an entire military force? What kind of idiot do you take me for? I know of your connections with Lady Siri and the Triumvirate of Yut; do you think I'll really allow you to move a fleet directly over us? Well, in that case, the entire Trojan 12th Armored Division will take a sight-seeing trip right into the heart of Scolopendra. Don't worry, it's harmless.

In other words get out or we'll attack you for aggregavating war directly.

OOC: All you nations moving military forces to 'watch' the battle aren't going to invade if Sirithil loses fair and square, right? (I know there OOC agreements that will prevent this, but I just thought i'd ask.)

Of course, there is still a way that both Siri and Priam could survive. One or the other could gain an upper hand, and have their spear at the other's throat. Then, they will throw down their spear and declare victory. (Kind of corny I know, but it would do the job.) Then the stage would be set for a big change in Menlemacar or Trojan policy.

And for the record, I'm not opposed to Siri protecting her bretheren, but I'm opposed to the wildy destructive ortillery strikes, when special operations troops could get the job done with minimal loss of life.

IC: Would it be possible to record and later televise the fight? It is a rare event when we see two national leaders battle to the death, it would be a shame to waste such an oppertunity.

Thats really quiet hilarious, seeing as Scolopendra is on Titan. As for your 12th Armored Division trying to march into Scolopendra, you'll have a little problem getting there. And by little problem I mean an vessel trying to enter Saturnian space without authorization will be destroyed, no questions asked.

Space Taxi launch facility, southern Reploid Productions

"Queenie, what I'm saying is that there's a way to go about this without totally f---ing up the country's international track record." A very frazzled Tiffany Celta tagged along after the agitated reploid.

"Then out with it. I've got the Tengai fleet setting up to depart Tengoku station, to ort the crap out of this dishonorable scum's military ability in the VERY likely event that he breaks his word." Firefury's face is a mask of cold fury, her tone like ice. The antics take the Secretary of Defense aback for a moment- the last time the reploid had been so unstable had been after, ironically, the successful attack on the Space Taxi facility during the Dividing War, and the total destruction of two cities thanks to the rail cannon.

"Well, we know that one-on-one, Sirithil is very likely to kick the crap out of this Priam guy, right? We're also fairly sure that this guy is completely off his rocker. So I had our intel fellas go digging a little." Tiffany grins slightly. "Seems the guy has a son, name Hector, who reports indicate would be somewhat more levelheaded than his old man, and the most likely to take the throne once Priam kicks the bucket. I would suggest prior to the big duel, that we see about getting in touch with the kid. If it is just Priam that's the problem, we really won't make any friends by orting the everloving shit out of the country's military stuff."

Firefury pauses, her temper seeming to simmer down slightly. "Makes sense..."

Tiffany sees the opening and presses her case. "So we go on the assumption that A) Priam is as good as dead in this, and B) that he HAS been mistreating the hostages. Now, pulling a Sirithil over this would look like A) Butting in where we don't belong, and B) Like we're pulling a Sirithil and going apeshit on this guy for, frankly, a fairly small number of elves. Military targets or not, the counterstrike you've proposed would kill easily thousands of military personel, and only solidify what this deluded maniac thinks about the 'elf-huggers'. Plus, it would really torque off the kid to have his father killed in a duel, and then have the country seemingly being razed from the heavens. Not cool."

Firefury nods slowly, shoulders sagging. "You are right... but good Goddess, this still just..... grr!" She comments intelligently.

"Right. And besides, reports indicate the Trium already has forces getting ready, and I don't doubt Sirithil's got a gravship fleet or three waiting in the wings. You and Tsume will be vital to making sure this goes off smoothly, because you'll be THERE. If things go haywire, it will be up to you two to get Sirithil out of there safely. Up to you guys to get her out of that throne room, and up to you and the Queens of the Sky to get the Queen's Wing to safer skies." Tiffany paces, silently thanking the Goddess that Firefury seemed to be calming down enough to listen to reason. "All the spacedy ships in the world won't be able to help in that throne room at the critcal moment."

"Alright, alright! I get your point!" Firefury snaps, still scowling. "About this Hector kid. What do you recommend?"

"Putting some words in his ear, so to speak. Inform him of what we suspect his father is up to, and a polite request that if he knows anything, to please help us prevent the senseless slaughter that would certainly ensue. Sirithil's wrath is like an avalanche- once started, it will not stop until it has reached it's absolute conclusion. We want to prevent that. Ask if he can tell us the truth about the elven hostages. Make sure he's aware that there is a very good chance his father is going to get himself killed in this fool's stunt, and that he may very likely take the entire Trojan Empire down with him in the process. Any halfway decent heir ought to have the brains enough to realize that such a potentially high-profile treachery will mean certain disaster." Tiffany stops pacing to regard the so-called 'Lady Shogun Eternal'. "Whatcha think?"

"Do it." Firefury mutters. "Get in touch with the kid, make it sincere as possible. I don't want to start a massive war, but this whole thing... ugh! Such a dishonorable son of a forsaken bitch!"

Greetings. I am Tiffany Celta, one of the advisors of the Lady Shogun Firefury. I am uncertain if you are aware of the situation that King Priam has begun to create surrounding his desire to duel with Lady Sirithil. At this time, various allies of Menelmacar are in position to retaliate with extreme force in the event of King Priam breaking his word- an event which I feel to be almost certain.

Despite the Lady Shogun's somewhat... excessive... words, she does not wish to start a massive war or anything of the sort. Her primary concern is the well-being of the hostages King Priam has used as a bargaining chip to force Sirithil to accept his dueling terms. Obviously, given the backhanded approach to setting this duel up, many people are not terribly inclined to believe King Priam will stay true to his word. He claims that the elven hostages are being taken good care of, but has offered no proof to substantiate this claim. If you could help us prevent this situation from spiralling horrendously out of control, it would serve everyone, including your country, very well.

I know that this man is your father, but I honestly fear that in this endeavor, he marches surely toward an unpleasant demise, and that he may very well take your entire country down with him. I would like it to be known now, that the Lady Shogun and one of her other advisors, Tsume Dragonis, will be attending the duel. Firefury-sama has sworn up and down that if King Priam dies in the duel, it will be by Sirithil's hand, and hers alone, in single combat, as he wishes for so dearly. However, if he does, as we fear, resort to trickery and the like, Firefury-sama will break up the fight if she must, and remove Sirithil from the area, if it proves to be excessively dangerous.

I hope you understand the severity of this situation, and eagerly await your response.

Damnit, Dad... I tried to convince you not to pull this stunt; maybe listening to your son would work? Pfft. an angry thought ran through the Prince's mind as he made his way to an escort to the Imperial Palace...

****
ONE HOUR LATER
"Father, are you mad? You must release those hostages and cancel this duel! Do not just do it for your own life; do it for our people. There is no doubt in my mind that this Lady Sirithril is a ravenous beast, hungry for the deaths of those whom have slaughtered her kin."

"I cannot, mi fili," Priam responded solemnly, "it is too late. If we return those hostages now war will be upon us anyway. Our only hope for our people now lies within the coming day. Tomorrow the duel is to commence and only tomorrow will we be able to strike a decisive blow against their fleets."

"Are you insinuating that the hostages have been mistreated?" demanded Hector.

Priam replied bluntly, "No. They've been treated with the level of concern that they deserve."

"What did you do?!"

Priam sighed and responded thus, "They were separated into five 100-elf dungeons located in various cities and military station. Each of the dungeons holds ten prison cells where a group of ten elves lives together. One elf female was raped yesterday by guard whom has now been discharged from his service to his nation..." he trailed off.

"That's... that's," stuttered Hector, gasping for his breath, "that's inhumane! Unjust! Dishonorable."

"Silence!"

"Go fuck yourself."

"It isn't a very wise choice to utter such a comment to your king, let alone your own father. It is too late now to negotiate. Our people need you now."

"For what?"

"You know very well what. Hector, you are this nation's single greatest warrior. You are our only hope to achieve victory and to survive. Are going to abandon your people now? Or you going to let them all burn in the flames that Lady Siri and her puppet states incite? Will you stand by and watch the massacre of Troy and all her riches because of a feud with your father? You are no better than that dastardly Greek, Achilles! The one who slaughtered Trojans left and right... including the one by whom you are named after."

Priam embraced his son and lifted Hector's chin gently; he had been staring at the elaborate floor tiles during his father's little speech.

"You would not betray you kin, would you?"

Tears began to roll down Hector's eyes as he imagined the fires that would certainly rage on throughout the kingdom. The people running for their lives from the mechanical Menelmacari machine of war.

"No," he finally managed to say. "I will defend our people, but I will fight for them and them only; your disgust me."

He turned abruptly and stormed from the throne room...

Thank you for your response- I understand entirely. Were our situations reversed, my priorities would be the people of the Shogunate. If King Priam cannot be reasoned with, perhaps other approaches exist to diffuse this situation. Would it be possible to smuggle a SpecOps team to rescue the hostages? Even if they are being badly treated, if they can be rescued without the use of gravships and warfare, perhaps we can convince Lady Sirithil to leave it at that. Without the hostages, King Priam has no lever to force a duel with her, and there would be no need for this messy affair to come to blows.

Obviously, he will continue to rant about elven atrocities, but without the leverage of the hostages, Sirithil would more likely than not simply ignore him. Unfortunately, it is people like your father pushing the limits of tolerance that has largely helped create the elven war machine.

I regret to say, despite being the King's own son, that I do not know exactly where these hostages are being held... I can provide tidbits of information that my father mentioned. There are five holding places. One for every one hundred elves. He briefly mentioned that one was within the city itself; another in the city of Smyrna. I would suppose another would be in Pergamum and the rest at major military bases. But, with the looming cloud of treason floating above my head I cannot provide any more information, although I know I wouldn't be able to give out much more anyway.

Priam inhaled deeply as he removed the famed Bellum from its golden case. The Bellum, or the sword of war, was indeed an exquisite and fine piece of weaponry. Said to have been forged by Hephaestus himself nearly five thousand years ago, and modified over two hundred times, the treasured sword was quite deadly indeed.

Priam balanced the sword for a bit, lost in a state of dreams, before concealing in within his scabbard that hung from his left hip. He turned around completely now, and exited his bedroom where the piece had been hidden inside of a great chest. Through the entrance of the throne room he entered and down he walked across the floor finally turning to his right and entering the dining room where his beautiful but aging wife, Hecuba, was awaiting him.

"Priam..." he began before her eyes filled with salt tears.

"I must go through with this my dear wife."

"You'll be killed. We'll be killed. Troy will be burned to the ground."

"SILENCE WOMAN! HOW DARE THEE PROPHESIZE SUCH ILL DEEDS! HOW DARE THEE LACK FAITH WITHIN THY HUSBAND!" exploded Priam, who immediately jumped from his cushioned seat.

His nostrils flared and he breathed heavily, demonstrating his sheer anger.

"My wife does not have faith in me, my son too, what am I to do?"

"Call this off," the gentle Hecuba said comforting her beloved husband.

"I cannot."

"Please," she pleaded, her eyes flooding with tears once more. "Call off this battle. End this madness. Spare me! Spare your son! Spare your people of this impending despair!"

Priam grunted. "No," he said.

Somewhere inside his mind, hidden behind his raw hate of elves, a feeling of regret twitched...

I'm sure you've heard about the hostage situation and the duel King Priam has forced with Lady Sirithil. I have been in contact with Priam's son, Hector, who appears to wish to avert what will quite likely escalate into war unless the situation is diffused. The easiest way to do so would be to rescue the 500 elven hostages. Then Siri could just ignore Priam for the deranged old fool that he is.

I've included a list of cities confirmed to have hostages held in them, and a list of likely targets. They are held 100 hostages to a location. Unfortunately, we somewhat lack the special ops to rescue them all, so I'm hoping there are those among our allies who are a bit more skilled in that area who could help with a rescue.

Firefury and Tsume will be attending the duel, should it go on, and prevent whatever plots Priam has set. We also plan to slip a few Drakos units in with the pair to snoop around. As for Firefury and Tsume's safety, I wouldn't worry too much- Tsume has had a building fall on his head once or twice, and Queenie's managed well enough through an aircraft crash and losing an arm.

Please respond soon.

We're quite disgusted with Priam and his madness. We can have three teams in full gear ready to go in an hour. However, we don't want to be tripping over anyone's toes in the process. We recommend central coordination for this operation, and we nominate Chameleon for the job. Not only is his stealth better than ours, but we trust his skills and experience in infiltration.

This will, necessarily, be a black operation. If discovered, we will deny any association with the mission or the agents involved. Our people necessarily understand this; it won't be the first time for any of them.

From: Takeo Katana, President of Larkinia

I have been following your recent... challenge to Lady Sirithril. I understand your concern over certain tactics she uses, they can be out of line, and not to use a pun, 'overkill'.

But taking the action you have is not the way to reach a resolution. Bloodshed begets bloodshed. Violence from you will result in a violent response. I'm asking you as one leader to another to not follow through on this course of action. You have what you wanted from her, her attention. Why not try to use words to bring about a resolution that will leave both sides, if not happy, then at least accepting and bring both sides to an understanding.

If you are bent on this course of action, then I ask if I may send an emissary to the duel to observe that both sides act in an acceptable way.

Sincerely,

Katana chuckled as he read the letter. Arrogant men and their arrogant ways.... Wait... MY Siri?

He hit a button on his desk, a moment later a young, slender Asian woman slithered into the room.

"Aiana, Have I ever met Lady Sirithril at any international functions?" he asked, trying to stretch through his fuzzy memories.

"No you haven't Mr. President," she responded, "You'd have remembered."

"I thought as much."

Priam hadn't said he could send someone to observe, then again he didn't say he couldn't...

"This is the RPDC Queen's Wing. Thanks for the prompt reply. We'll wait outside your airspace until we have confirmation of Lady Sirithil's arrival. Trust and all." The female voice on the ship's comm sounds sultry and hard- like fine silk over a sharp blade. "And I would strongly advise against trying anything stupid."

Firefury sends word to her crew. "Alright, my paranoia is screaming at me. No matter what, we are not setting down on Trojan soil. Launch the Queens of the Sky, routine patrols, don't fire until fired upon, stay out of their airspace. And get Tengoku and Tengai's eyes on those coordinates. I'm no young lovestruck fool to go running blind into anything, much less a situation that already stinks of a trap. I want Archangels Seraphim, Boo, and Asmodeus to stay on alert level 3-A, also running patrols. The carriers are to remain low to the water- under it, if possible, and ready to fly on a moment's notice. I've no idea if Tiffany's plan with the SpecOps will work or not."

The orange reploid steps back from the console she was uplinked to, a stern, very unhappy look on her face. "And bring that remote operations contraption. I don't want to land on their soil, but I can sure as hell drop in. I want to be able to get my fighter back down here ASAP if I have to." She grins slightly, a feral, wicked look. "Damn fool is underestimating what a reploid is capable of. I don't like it, but if I have to, I can pull a Shodey and be in more than one place at once."

"Everything's ready, Queenie." Tsume strolls up languidly. Only someone who knew the Dragonis model reploid would know that languid motion was an indicator that the mechanical dragon would just as soon rip someone's throat out with tooth or claw, or set them alight with his weapons. "The more I think of it, the more it reeks of trap. I think at this point I would almost prefer Siri to back out of the duel, and get gravship the hell out of this guy's military. You are correct, it stinks of a trap to me."

"Not much to do until Siri shows up, in any case."

"Bring in the Map!"
Two armed guards entered the Steward's Office carrying a heavy wooden chest. They set it on the floor, opened it, and lifted out a large Earth Globe, with a shimmering, shifting surface of holograms projected on glass.
"Gotta love whoever came up with that. I hear all the static versions caused insanity."
The guards set the Globe on the table, turned, and left.
"Right. Down to business. Chameleon, we need to get you to Troy from here. If I remember correctly, they're located on the northern Mediterranean Sea, right about... there." The Steward pointed to a landmass lazily drifting across the northern hemisphere, partially obscurring one of the many versions of Russia. "Our continent, on the other hand, is currently making its way across the Pacific. Thus, we'll have to either cross Asia or Arabia, or go the other direction over or around the Americas."
"Well, m'Lord, I do believe that 01 is gone for good, and the only other Arabians we've been able to turn up are horse breeders. Naviagting a Flying Barge through the area shouldn't prove to be a problem."
"Good. Well, that at least gets you to the Mediterranean. I would say just fly the rest of the way, but, given the nature of the mission...."
"Something less discrete is required."
"Precisely. And we don't know what the reactions of other nations in the area would be if we were to fly over them. See what Intel. can turn up on Trojan seagoing craft. Reconvene in two hours. Dismissed."

Gilthoniel hung in orbit; Troy was far below...

Sirithil watched at the window as the sapphire globe of the earth turned below her... this was the day of the duel, and she was ready. This fool king of Men would fall before her blade, at his own demand; and if he had lied, her ships would burn his armies in the star-fire of justice.

"Are you sure about this, mother?"

It was her son, Maglor, behind her... he carried her armor.

"Yes," she said. "It is almost certainly a trap. But I have escaped traps before, have I not, my son?" She turned, gave him a gentle smile.

"Yes, mother, you have..." Carefully, he put the shimmering black and golden breastplate on her. The armor was ceremonial but still quite functional; forged of galvorn, a metal used still by the MIDF, but forged by the old ways.

"And my weapons?"

"Dulled slightly. They are not honed to their monomolecular edge any longer, but sharpened by, as you asked, the old ways..."

"Except the one arrow, yes?"

"Yes."

One arrow remained with its deadly point; this one arrow she would loose from the Sindarin bow Belthronding in the event of treachery. One arrow was all she would need.

"Then I am ready," she said softly, affixing her sword-belt around her waist, and taking hold of Aeglos, the spear of Gil-galad. "Let us go... and if I should fail, the Daggerstar Crown is yours..."

"You will not fail, mother."

"Indeed, no, I shan't."

The GS-1/D Vilyulairë launched from Gilthoniel's hangars, and an escort of a quartet of GF/A-73 Thoroni formed up around it, descending from the clouds towards Troy.

King Priam of Troy, Greetings!

We notice that you have flipped a big one to the elves.

Can we be of any assistance?

(As long as it doesn't put us at too much risk, or anything. I'm thinking along the line of a few hundred Anonymous Leper mercenaries, facilitating under-the-table deals for mega weapons, acting as covert drop site/supply service for anti-elf forces, etc. Nothing that would put us too high on the radar screen.)

cordially,

Greetings, Eldrad the Supreme! Greetings! It is a glorious sight to see a nation offering aid in such a sticky situation, but a necessary one indeed. Any assisstance would appreciated; we need every last resource possible...

Eldrad the Supreme, Ultimate Ruler of Everything Eventually, examined the communicaiton from King Priam.

"Heh. Look at that. The sucker... I mean, the noble King is gonna take us up on it. OK...." He pondered for a moment, then summoned a few Anonymous Lepers.

"OK, here's what you're gonna do. Dispatch a lightning propaganda squad. Hit every elf-hugger nation you can get visa'd into with anti-elf graffiti in really public places. Don't forget the line about, 'If you shower with an elf and drop the soap, don't bend over to pick it up!' Get in, get out. Give every member of that squad a morph capsule. (OOC: The Anonymous Lepers are mutants-- a morph capsule is a small dose of radioactive material that enables them to grow an extra arm or a longer snout or some other way of changing their appearance, although they're all disgusting, which is why they usually wear all-covering cloaks and hoods.)

"See that they have a change of clothes, and two passports--one passport from Troy and the other from some elf-hugger nation. Use the elf-hugger one to get in and out, and Troy if they get caught. You know the drill. Have them pretend to be pitiful helpless cripples. Priam won't care, and everyone knows how he feels about elfs. Fortunately, hardly anyone's ever heard of us, so we can probably pull this off.

"Oh, yeah, and don't forget all those questions about the real 'relationship' between Siri and Maglor. 'A Family Affair' and all that. Not to mention the one about 'Have you paid taxes to support some non-human's immortality today?'

"OK, then send two hundred Lepers with whatever our latest burp gun model is to help out Priam."

(OOC: The AL burp gun really is a "burp" gun-- it emits short, air-propelled blasts of highly odorous, highly toxic (or sometimes radioactive, although not in this case) gas, to which the mutant Lepers are immune. Don't worry, I'm not godmodding here, they're plenty vulnerable to bullets, sharp edges, and other dangerous items.)

"Also, send Anonymous Lab Leper Six to Priam personally with a request. I want to purchase some elf tissue for experimentation. He's to give this request ONLY to Priam, and ONLY in person, and ONLY when covered by anti-snoop shielding. He's authorized to pay... umm... well, see what Priam wants and if it sounds too unreasonable, try to bargain him down a little. But I think he'll let us have it for cheap. Have him get the tissue and get the hell out of there before the damn' elfs arrive. Full stealth mode."

((OOC: 's OK, we don't have the resources for space flight, yet, anyway. However, our Lepers will be using quite competently faked passports, documents, etc., from various elf-hugger nations and Troy, so it wouldn't matter who had relations with AL or not (actually, no one does at this point)))

<OOC: sorry, Siri, crappy forums plus people invading my nation have thrown me off track a bit.>

"This is Trojan Air Command, Vilyulairë, you are clear to land at Perseus Private Airport, slightly west of Troy. You should be able to identify it. We understand that the RPDC is awaiting to make their landing once it has been confirmed that you have arrived. Coordinates are..." the speaker said.

The small, private airport was quite deserted that day -- orders had been given previously by his Hiness himself to isolate and secure the area for the diplomatic shuttles. Behind the airport stood the grand city of Troy itself. A bustling city it was indeed, with many lights flashing and vehicles -- some hovering slightly above the ground -- could be recognized in clusters. In the far distance rose the great, white citadel of Pergamum, which had gained so much fame that it had a city named after it.

Pergamum, although beautiful and similiar to the citadels of medieval times in design, was equipped with modern defenses such anti-aircraft guns and artillery cannons. Still, it was a glorious sight to see and was the most noticeable structure in Troy itself. Across the tops of the walls, many engravings of great Trojan warriors and heroes had been finely inscripted and woven banner also hung from the edges of the uppermost walls. To the lower left of the citadel stood a great hall, the Imperial Palace where Priam was awaiting his visitors. Escorts had already been dispatched to, obviously, escort the foreigners to the Palace.

Inside a dressing room in the Imperial Palace, Priam was strapping his armor onto himself -- there wasn't much of it anyway. His ancestors had always favored mobility over armor; why shouldn't he follow in suit.

"The final preparations have been made, milord."

The King smiled devishly as he listened to a final shrill from across the hallway.

"Siri's ship is confirmed to be on landing approach now, Queenie." Tengoku's comm officer reports.

"Kuso!" Firefury all but spits, lowering the blue visor in her helmet to cover her face slightly. "Then let's go. My orders stand to stay out of Trojan airspace, but near enough to be on the attack within an hour if the order comes. I'll int-comm at five minute intervals. If for some reason my confirmations stop coming, commence attacks on strategic military targets. But no orbital strikes unless I specifically command it."

"Ryoukai!"

The orange reploid cuts off the link to the ship, joining Tsume near an airlock. "We're goin' in. Y'ready?"

The black mechanical dragon nods and flexes his wings as much as the corridor will allow. "At a steady glide, and assuming we don't get shot at, we should arrive about the same time Sirithil's shuttle lands. I hope your internal comm has let the Trojans know we'll be joining Siri, but without the ship."

Firefury snorts. "I let them know we wouldn't take a shuttle or anything down. 'Sides, we'll be too small and too low for regular AA defenses to hit easily. Let's do it." Leaving no room for further debate, the reploid hits a button and the airlock slides open with a loud hiss. "BANZAI!"

Firefury freefalls for several long seconds before Tsume's serpentine black form dives after her, mighty talons closing carefully over her shoulders and waist. Spreading his wings fully to glide, the two make their way from the ship to the airport Siri is due to be landing at.

The Vilyulairë dropship, with its escort of Thoroni, approached Perseus; the four fighters peeled off into a patrol vector, circling the airport in a flawless diamond formation, while the dropship made its final approach. Forsaking the runway entirely, the vessel set down lightly - almost with a feather touch, so skilled was the pilot, for there was no sound to its impact - upon the tarmac, near where the escort had formed up. The rear ramp lowered, and Sirithil herself, along with two Mornahossë, stepped down off the ship. Resplendent was the Elvenqueen in her armor, shimmer-black of galvorn and accented with the glittering gold of decorative filigree. The blades of her weapons shone in the sunlight, her eyes glittered with firelight, her golden hair waved in the breeze. She looked around, there, breathing the air, and getting her first look at Troy.

"She's here," said one of two men, leaning on the side of their vehicle, standing a mere twenty of so yards from where the dropship had landed.

He flicked his cigarette onto the ground, and gently stepped on it, extinguishing the dim flame.

The other man nodded and rose a foghorn to his lips speaking thus, "Lady Sirithril, here your escort to the Imperial Palace awaits. Outside of the airport, a military convoy will assure your safety from any outside attacks. If we hurry, we should be there in no time; the streets will be cleared for your arrival."

"What about the Reploids?"

"This applies to the honorable Reploids arriving also. We're ready to escort you to the Palace..."

With a flourish, the dark shape of Tsume quickly overflies the dropship, dropping Firefury as he backwings to an elegant landing. The orange reploid lands in a crouch, one hand fingering the hilt-like device visible over her left shoulder. "Whew, just in time!" The orange reploid waves up to the dropship. "Yo, Siri, Tsume and I are here, too, let's get this show on the road!"

The black mechanical dragon heaves a sigh and quickly introduces himself and Firefury to the armored fellows waiting for Sirithil to appear. "Tsume Dragonis and Firefury Amahira, from Reploid Productions. The Lady Shogun figured that this mode of arrival would be more efficient than landing the Queen's Wing or taking a dropship down. AIR BASE
"We can now confirm our reports. Lady Sirithril and Lady Shogun have arrived. Sirithril's dropship and its escort were spotted by intelligence officers gently landing at Perseus Private Airport. We have little time. Hurry, hurry, my friends. It will be matter of minutes before the great battle of our time commences!"

"Indeed, my comrades. Indeed," spoke General Sextus, the man commanding the air assault against the Reploids and Menelmacari space fleets that now hovered above Troy.

His face now appeared on the screen of every jumbo television in each of the hangars at the air base. Eager men watched as he begun his inspiring speech.

Underneath his arm, he held his helmet and walking forward closer to the camera he spoke thus, "Aye, my friends. My comrades. My kin. Today marks the day that the day of the elf ends. Today is the very day that will mark the beginning of a new era for mankind. An era for which we do not need to worry if our children will be threatened by the Evil Empire. An era of pure goodness and peace! But in order to obtain this peace, we must do the unthinkable. We must soar into battle, meet our enemies, and vanquish them.

"Such a task will require courage, wit, and great ferocity. A man does not what he is capable of until he is tested. And so, all of you will be tested in the great skies of outer space. There may be a day when the courage of our people falters, but it is not this day. Today, today, we FIGHT! Huzzah!"

He pumped his fist into the air thus receiving a roaring response, "HUZZAH!"

"Huzzah!"

"HUZZAH!"

"Huzzah!"

"HUZZAH!"

"O disgraceful Siri, you have met your match. Your headstrongness will no longer last after the men of Troy have battled with thee. The grief you have inflicted upon thousands of human beings shall no longer continue to strangle their families. Prepare yourself for total war. Troy is coming."

APU Base
Prince Hector lifted his head.

"To the southwest, about two and a kilometer away, we have confirmed reports that... that our," he hesistated a bit before giving out a large sigh and continuing, "enemy has landed and is en route to the Imperial Palace. The RPDC has yet to land, but at least Menelmacari ships are grounded -- BUT, three or so fighters are patrolling the area. Arm half of the APUs with SAMs, the other half with standard rockets. They must not escape. If we move quickly, we can arrive there in less than ten minutes. For honor and glory..." he trailed off.

<OOC: APUs stand at about 15 feet tall, a few tons, and travel at about 15-20km per hour. This base is situated north of Troy, but you are west of Troy, thus slightly southwest they must travel. They should be able to arrive in minutes, but other things can hinder their travel. Also, traveling with the APUs are several APCs with about ten troops each. However, these APCs are meant to carry 20 troops. The other ten seat are being used to carry bins of ammunition for the APUs.>

OOC: Thank Eru I haven't left the airport yet...

IC:

Siri's comm beeped softly in her ear, even as she was walking towards the convoy with the two Mornahossë.

"Miladies, this is Commander Kahgegwagebow. We've detected troop movements headed towards your dropship. Suggest you return imediately. God speed."

Siri blinked. "Shit... Betrayal!" She stopped walking, turning... the dropship was already off the ground, about to return to the fleet.

"Sirithil to Vilyulairë, change of plans... pick us up! We're getting out of here!"

"Roger that, milady..."

The dropship turned in midair, approaching Sirithil and the two Mornahossë, who had already drawn their pistols and were covering the Trojans nearby. The Skywraith passed directly over the Elentári, its rear door opening, and hovered low. The ship hovered between the Elves and the Trojans, not quite landing; covering the convoy with its two massive plasma lance cannons, and covering Siri and her guards with an entire ship's hull worth of armor. The ramp lowered, even in midair, and Siri and the others dashed aboard... "Go! Go!"

The ship took off, the hatch still closing even as it did, on a steep upward trajectory that would take it back to the fleet. The four Thoroni formed up as it did so.

The pilot twisted back in his seat towards Siri. "What happened down there, milady?"

"Betrayal! Contact the fleet... we're coming back early, and we're going to war!"

Leper #2699451-D arrived with the burp gun squad just as things were starting to disintegrate around the airport. Excellent. With dispatch, he located a Trojan officer and turned the squad over to his command, recommending that the Trojans use them as point decoys, since the burp guns could easily be fatal to their Trojan "allies" as well.

Then he went to find Priam. If he could get that sample of elf tissue for Eldrad the Supreme, and slip out while all the turmoil was going on, the burp gunners would be resources well-spent.

He sought out a Palace official and identified himself as the official representative from the King's ally Eldred the Supreme, and requested the favor of a very brief audience, to their mutual benefit.

Sky Marshal Blair sighs. I warned them, and yet they persist in madness. Why do we have to be surrounded by such... ghastly incompetence? "Acknowledge Spotted Cat's missive, Comms." Cursing mildly under his breath, Blair looks down at a red-colored button on his console labeled 'zero,' pressing it with a slight flourish. Throughout the supercarrier Smilodon, and later through the entire Fifth Expeditionary, lights turn a definite tint of red, a slight shift of motion to action stations.

Pressing down another button, he flicks a monitor to display images from Spotted Cat and the TYCS Voyeur spy satellite network. "Sensors, what's the tactical situation down there?"

"The Elentari's dropship is moving to pick up Lady Sirithil... large concentrations of armor moving southwest and it looks like the airbases are scrambling."

Blair sighs. "FlightCom, how are the bays prepped?"

"The Sixtieth and Sixty-Seventh Wings are on active alert, sir."

"Launch them. Excaliburs are to perform CAP and escort the dropship, Phantoms are to prepare for tactical ground strikes. Pickle some gunship Lokis as well... also for escort and ground-strike duties."

"Acting, sir."

The sky marshal shifts in his chair, idly watching the strategic indicator board blossom with tiny points as hundreds of meters away fighters begin sliding from massive airlocks, forming up and streaking down towards the planet. "FleetCom, order the fleet into a defensive wall formation, cruisers and frigates at fore, carriers core, destroyers on picket. Inform the Grendel captains that they are on standing orders to open fire on anything even remotely hostile."

The fleet command and communications officer nods. "Relaying, sir."

* - * - *

"Sixtieth Expeditionary Wing," an officer with colonel's stars and labeled 'NORTON' across his right breast deep within the supercarrier enunciates into his headset, "ASB Commander Smilodon C3 here. Call off by section."

Already nearly a hundred kilometers away, a pilot nods acknowledgement to herself, flight helmet barely moving as her Excalibur aerospace superiority fighter leads a group of twenty-four other stubby-winged craft. "See-Three, Major Goshawk. First Superiority Section, Squadrons Alpha through Echo, ready and able."

"Acknowledged, Goshawk."

"See-Three," another pilot another hectakilometer away in front of another group of blade-like Excaliburs, "Major Dragon of Second Superiority Section. Squadrons Foxtrot through India report combat ready."

"Ack, Goshawk." Back in the ugly bulk of the capital ship, the colonel nods.

"See-Three, Major Anubis--commander of Ground Attack Section." The pilot grins under his flight mask, sitting in the cozy cockpit of a craft that might look more at home over Southeast Asia in the 1960s than in low Earth orbit. "The Phantom IIIs of Squadrons Juliet through Mike are ready to set up them the bomb."

Norton chuckles. "Stand by for orders, Anubis. Goshawk, form up with First Superiority of the Six-Seventh and Lokis Smilodon-Fifty and -Fiftyone, proceed to escort the Elentari. Dragon, form up with Second Superiority of the Six-Seventh and fly forward cover. You are authorized to engage any hostile aircraft...

"Anubis, new orders. Time to live up to your name. Insert nape-of-earth outside of zone and prepare for SEAD along extraction line."

"Whoooo!" The pilot known as Anubis howls in his helmet, nodding to the weapons and ordinance officer in the back seat. "Wild Weasels, drop your dicks and grab your sticks, it's time for some old-fashioned Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses! Targets will be coming down from upon high... break!"

In a moment, languid motion turns to lethal grace, Tsume baring teeth and talons and putting himself between Sirithil and the Trojans. Fire springs to life in Firefury's hands as she grabs the hilt from it's shoulder holster, a beam energy blade flaring to life in her grasp.

On board the Queen's Wing, the orange and yellow Elite Victory fighter belonging to Firefury roars the life, the craft taking off at well above the sound barrier and streaking dangerously low to the ground toward the hasty evacuation. Almost as though with a mind of its own, the fighter blazes to a halt not five feet from the orange reploid, who's expression could probably take the paint off a battleship at 500 yards. Spraying the immediate area with shots from her arm cannon, she leaps into the sleek craft, Tsume clinging to the craft's nose as it blazes into the air.

"This is Queenie, Archangels Boo, Seraphim, Asmodeus, launch all fighters and prepare for tactical strikes on Trojan military bases. All ships move in and suppress enemy anti-air. Tengai fleet, prepare to strike- coordinate with the Trium fleets in the area." The reploid barks orders into her comm, blazing high into the atmosphere. Even she gives a slight pause before her next order. "Peace with Conviction, you are cleared to prepare main weapons for orbital strikes."

She quickly stops off at the Queen's Wing, dropping Tsume off to command the black and orange vessel. "And frag it, somebody get in touch with Hector! Find out where he is so we know where NOT to go blazing in! Queens, form up, s'time to jam!"

"RYOUKAI!" The six black and orange Elite Victory fighters of the Queens of the Sky form up behind their Wingleader.

In less than ten minutes, just over ninety Elite Victory and Elite Victory Mk-II fighters are in the air en route, as are the three carriers.

"Ad kxo dumo ev kxo Wettojj Jxamoba okohduc, cok kxo vahoj ev sxuej hoawd! Vehnuht kxo Rihdadw Ruddoh!" Firefury crows. "Witness the punishment given those who betray trust and honor!"

2 hours out from Trojan shores...

The skies above the ocean were filled with red streaks as three fleets de-orbited to the surface of the planet, on their way to assist the Shogunate forces. Once in the atmosphere, the 66 ships slowly descended to an altitude of 3000 meters above the suface of the ocean, seperating into three groups and assuming battle formations.

On board the Triton, Captain Edwards looked over some images taken by satellite. On the ship's main monitor, Captain Andrews and Captain Allen waited for Edwards to speak.

"From the looks of it, the Shogunate forces should be okay for now. Its unfortunate we de-orbited so far off course, we're two hours out instead of 20 minutes out." said Edwards, looking up towards the monitor.

"I've talked this over with Captain Andrews and we have a plan. If we move the three fleets whole, it'll take us two hours to get there. I propose we break off all of our Starwind-class escorts and send them ahead. They're faster and can get there in half the time that it'll take the other ships. Any support is better than no support." Captain Allen said, as his image on the monitor was replaced by a digital map indicating the positions of the fleets with several arrows pointing away from the fleet towards Trojan territory.

"Indeed. Sounds good, lets do it then. All Starwind-class ships in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Defensive Fleets are to break away from their respective fleets and advance towards Trojan waters at maximum speed. to support the Shogunate vessels. All other ships will follow at maximum speed." ordered Captain Edwards.

Captain Andrews and Captain Allen acknowledged the orders and cut their transmissions. Within a few minutes, the 15 escort carriers broke away and advanced as the orders were spread to the fleet.

"Lieutenant Scott, notify the Shogunate vessels already in Trojan waters of our position and that support will be there in one hour." the captain added to his orders.

"Yes sir!"

<OOC: hold on there folks, they havent moved yet! you'd think I'd be that stupid to attack when you were still at the airport! I'll explain why. Firstly, I suppose I must reveal parts of my plan. THIS IS ALL OOC INFO, if you use it to your IC advantage, then you're ignored... ok? Ok, so Priam isnt stupid to launch the attack while Siri is still in escape range. No, once they're on the edges of the throne room, the attack commences -- while you're speaking to Priam. Now, we have government agents disguised all throughout the city and palace ready to report your progress back to the APU and Air Base. Now, the APUs/APCs are hidden within a large hangar with several garage doors on each side. When it's time, the 200 APUs pour out of one side, the supporting 25 or so APCs pour out of the other. The Air Base now. The Air Base consists of twelve hangars (if I posted otherwise, my mistake, this is what I meant. Ten are reserved for the fighters, the other two for bombers. All in all, 552 fighters and 80 bombers are being deployed. These hangars have retractible roofs. Thus, the SB-1s (bombers) and SF-1s (fighters) are all VSTOL capable. About five fighters can launch from any one hangar at a time, that's 50 fighters at a time. Two bombers can launch at one time. Four bombers per time. It takes less than a minute to launch, and the takeoff is continous meaning while five fighters are taking off into the air, another five are just leaving the ground. Comprende? Now, kindly delete your posts and wait for the storyline to progress twenty or so minutes. :P Thanks.>

OOC: My bad. Misread it, and perhaps I was a bit to anxious.
You did say that your APU movements would take a few minutes to get there, and I'm holding you to it.

<OOC: Indeed, that's what I suspected. Everyone is so anxious to annihilate poor Troy. Dont worry, your chance will come. Not saying that it's going to be successful though.>

A sharply dressed businessman wandered around one of the ports of Troy, waiting for his luggage to be unloaded from his ship. Finally, he noticed a couple of dockworkers hefting a small crate down the gangplank, and ran up to fuss over it.
"Be careful with that! Ack, don't drop it! No, no, please-"
"Listen, you wanna carry this yourself? Quit worryin' and get back on the dock."
Faking angst, the man wandered back down the ramp and started rocking on his heels on the dock. Once the crate was successfully unloaded, it was put on a roller cart, and the man started walking away with it. Heading into the parking lot, he hid behind a few large vehicles, literally ripped apart the crate with his bare hands, and hopped onto a sleek black motorcycle, leaving the remains of the crate for the streetcleaners to puzzle over.

After zipping onto a mainroad, the man's suit seemlessly morphed into a leather biker jacket and helmet, and the man began looking over his GPS unit to find the best path to the target cities.

Repeat 5x.

(OOC: Sorry if I've described something incorrectly, please tell me if this is so and I shall edit. In any case, Chameleon is getting in 5 times over.)
