Loyalist Pirates (ATTN ALL SPACE NATIONS)

OOC: This is a spin-off from my Disarmament of Thelas thread, we will begin with a recap.

First, Menelmacar disarms Thelas, the Ortheri Station, their escorts, the Taiidani Mother ships (five in number), and their escorts escape, they flee to the other side of the galaxy. To a system that technically is outside the galaxy, yet is held near to the galaxy because of the gravitational pull of our super massive black hole. There the rebels build a series of research and construction facilities inside the asteroid belt of the system (The system is composed of: Two stars, two gas giants, a asteroid belt, a comment shield, and twelve moon like objects, orbiting far enough away from the sun for the average (equatorial) temperature to be about 90 Degrees Fahrenheit.)

Here they begin research on a new fighter, called the Zero fighter (learn more about it in the disarmament thread), and on a new design series of Thelasi warship. The rebels are going to maintain their lives through piracy and mining, selling minerals to, illegal, businesses.



Soon, the scientists were given a new directive, a directive to build a powerful fighter. That fighter had to be capable of out-flying the M#s that EOTED used, yet the fighter had to have weapons capable of punching through the armor of the Whispering Voices Wisps, on top of all that, the fighter had to be able to survive a heavy amount of punishment. These directives made the project seem un-conquerable. Yet even then, the scientists got to work, designing what would be called the Zero Fighter.

In another base, designs for the next generation of Capital ships were being drawn up. In the past, a perspective bound to combat in a gravity bound area had limited Thelas. Now, because the researchers were both Thelasians, and Taiidani, these ships would be designed to fight on land and in space. The scientists knew that the Accelerated Projectile cannons were fine for small combat, but, new advances in Mass-Drivers would out strip them. Then came the second question, what can we use for anti-capital ship weapons? Yes, they had the cutting beams, but missiles were becoming obsolete, and mass-drivers could not back the punch needed. The answer came in the research for anti-matter power cores. Anti-Protons. Anti-Protons are a type of anti-matter, they only react with the Protons in normal atoms. By sending a beam of anti-protons at a ship, they could easily do massive amounts of damage. The problem was, that he generators for the new AP guns were massive, meaning that a capital ship could only carry six or so of the powerful new weapons.

The new ships that were being designed were smaller than their old counterparts, even the new Acharn was much smaller. New drive systems were being put into place, new technologies were being developed. New weapons outfitted upon the rebirth of the Grav-fleets.

Some of the small destroyers were being equipped with new shield systems. One of which was somewhat like what was used on the Whispering Voices’ Wisps. In the past, Thelasi ships used a form of shield, not a true shield, but more of a screen. Weapons fire could pass through it, but most of the energy, be it Kenetic, Light, Heat, or Sound, was absorbed, although in the process, the shield was weakened. Now, they experimented with a new shield unit, a magnetic shielding unit, capable of redirecting the Kenetic fire of enemy guns. This used the same force that gave Mass-drivers power, to render the shells of those weapons useless.

Deep in space, the prototypes of the new Zero Fighters were being tested. The first models, were carrier launched, with out hyper-drives, they were limited to in-system use only. One of these fighters, XM-13, was being taken out for its’ first test runs, in fact, this would be the first run of the Zero Fighter.

Slowly the craft was moved onto the mag-sled that would catapult the fighter into the void of space. “This is fighter XM-13 ready for launch, grav-stabilizers online, weapons online, shields online, fusion rod drives online, all systems go.” “Fighter XM-13, clear for launch, 3… 2… 1… GO!” In an instant the sled lurched forward, small lighting bolts shot between the sled and the fighter as static charge build up, then, the fighter based through the two way force-field.

As soon as the fighter left the docking bay, it turned, speeding around the massive Mother ship. The craft shot around, turning, doing first a barrel roll, then a hard bank to starboard. Then the computer kicked in, automatically redirecting thrust from the engines to increase turning rate.

“Alright 13, cut it out. We are sending a Nova fighter up there to compare.”

Soon the wider and slower Nova came up. The old fighter, once considered the pride of the Thelasi Air and Space forces was easily out maneuvered, and out gunned. Not only that, but the smaller Zero could take more damage than the older fighter. A complete win for the new design.

“All right XM-13, get back into the docking bay. Land, and get ready for a new mission, base OUT.”



IC: Deep out in space, the Taiidani Carrier Avenger flew through space. On the outside, she appeared to be any other heavily armored transport, but hidden behind sliding panels and rotator mounts, were weapons, LOTS of weapons. All of them were small mass-drivers, one hundred small mass drivers. Weak against capital ships, those guns are, yet strong against enemy fighters. Even though on the outside, even with weapons extended, she would have posed no threat to any ship bigger than a medium freighter. One the inside, her cargo was deadly. Zeros, Thelasi Zero Fighters, built at the resistance base in the YVW-24 system, those fighters would pose a threat to anything smaller than a battleship, and even then, those fighters could easily take down a lone battleship.

The carrier swept through space, on the look out for prey. Since the Thelasi Star Empire had been annexed, and then collapsed, the Taiidani, and Loyalist Thelasi Star Forces had operated from their base on the outskirts of the galaxy, seizing targets of opportunity that came their way. Now that several wings of Zeros had been build the Loyalists could take a much more, shall we say active role.

OOC: Okay, for the beginning, I am looking for a nation that will play the prey, after that, take it that these pirates are operating everywhere, the only ships they will not raid are Thelasi, Menelmacari, and United Hiigaran ships, they might raid these groups, if the target is worth the effort, Xanthal, Steel Butterfly, Aelosian.

Also, about the Zero Fighter, if you want to know how good these things are, they were designed to take down Wisps and EOTEDs’ best fighter. So, the best way to take these things down is to have a LOT of ships fighting them.

Well, I'd venture a guess, that the reason no one wants to respond is that you've created a group of ships that are so far and above everything else that no one wants to waste the time. I mean... I was reading your post, and it sounds good, without knowing the details of the Menelcamari disarmament of Thelas, it still sounds like a decent rp possibility, but there's still the fact that, no one wants to go up against something thay can't even dent. Its just not much fun. For the sake of an excellent rp though, I'll take the role of prey. you ought to think about lessening the requirements of a 13-1 advantage being required though, its kind of a turn off. Ill come back and post the first installment from my side in an hour or so. :)

ooc: Thelas, just a piece of advice. Rather than saying the kill ratio of other's ships against yours, simply RP your ships as you built them, and allow others to rp their ships in the same way. Count on one-another to RP honorably and not godmode. You gave a pretty good description of its abilities, let people run with that.

OOC: Thanks, I will probably DEAT the kill ratios, I have been playing a cool Rp with some friends of mine, same style as NS, because there are less people, we have tables of kill ratios and so on.

Xanthal is easy prey once, mabye twice. Then you show up on the radar of the police and armada. After that happens you're pretty well nailed whenever you raid Xanthalian space unless you're exceedingly clever. They'll use slipfighters and Enforcer class ships against you, and if that proves ineffective and you're still raiding us they'll set the warships on you. I'd say that you can pull off a maximum of five successful raids on Xanthalian targets before it becomes too difficult to be worth it.

OOC: Xathanal, remember, these guys are former millitary aces, the best and most loyal in the entire Thelas Star Force, they served in the Shadow War against EOTED, DA, Diablo NL and Knootian fighters, most likely, they would give you alot of trouble hunting down, and once you got them, you would be in for one hell of a fire-fight. I developed these things as a counter to EOTEDs' M#s and other fighters...

Thelas: I can read, I assure you. Unfortunately, they are still only fighters; no matter how good they are they cannot stand against full-blown warships. It's not as if Xanthalian slipfighters are easy prey either, you know. Your fighters may be superior, but there are not enough of them to overwhelm us. We posess 25,000 slipfighters and 200 warships. If you become annoying, they will destroy you. They don't need to track you. With instantaneous communications and ships that can easily travel at tens of millions of times the speed of light, you'll be set upon in seconds of any attack. That is why if you want to attack a Xanthalian target you should do so now, while the Armada is committed to the impending Tordoran war.

Soviet Trasa: If it becomes necessary we will use what you can give until our own ships can respond.

OOC: see this is the reason I joined Valinon's union of non-aligned worlds. To be able to say to big nations like Xanthal, which are willing to throw their weight around despite their apparent commitment to peacefulness, "Go ahead." Anyway just though I'd include that. Now for Thelas, i'll just start in with an attack opportunity for you. i'll use this thread if you dont mind for sanity's sake.

IC: The Hvy. Freighter Iman and its 2 sister ships along with an escort frigate fell out of hyperspace near the asteroid field of an otherwise completely featurless white dwarf system. One ship was spouting sparks and outgassings from its engine block, at the rear of the rectangular ship.

"Sir, it's what i feared, we've got a complete burnout, on the time-dialators. We wont get the ship back into hyperspace safely until they're fixed." reported the engineer on one of the freighters. "Its repairable... about 6 hours I should say."

"Alright, Lon." responded Captain Dent aboard the Iman. " Well, tell the company that well be a bit late, we left early enough that we'll still be there mostly on time."

And so the 4 ships took up positions together with the frigate slightly away from the freighters, as the engineers of the ships attempted to reaipr the machinery that would allow them to travel faster than the speed of light, without any of those nasty Einsteinian side effects... like aging at super fast rates. Little did they know the suprise they would find themselves in.

Deep out in space, the launch carrier patrolled silently, long range sensor arrays scanned for targets, then, when they found one, the ship turned entering Slip-Stream. The craft exited out of sight of the convoy, activating the cloaking generators that enabled the ship to hide from most sensors, they disappeared into the blackness of space.

At this time, in the Carrier’s docking bay, the thirty-six Zeros were being fueled, ammo was being loaded for the mass-drivers, and pilots were getting into their fighters.

Once the carrier reached a close range to the convoy, they let their cloak drop, almost immediately, the fighters launched out of the bays. Seconds later, each fighter fired two torpedoes, all of them streaking towards the warship.

The carrier on the other hand, re-cloaked, activating a powerful jamming field to prevent communication. Once the warship had been destroyed, the fighters changed targets, now locking on to the two merchant men. They surrounded them, and then went utterly still in space, “Disabled craft, lower your shields and prepare to be boarded, resistance will be met with your deaths”

From the carrier, four massive transports launched, each one carrying some seventy marines aboard them.

The frigate is consumed in fire and reduced to a drifting hulk without firing a shot. Two of the three freighters are easily captured. The damaged ship and the ove assisting her. The captain of the other freighter (the smallest of the 3) which was shielded from the assault by the bulk of the other ships, breaks like a frightened puppy and activates his emergency hyperspace vector jumping the ship out-system just before it can be fired on.

The captains of the Hvy. Freighters are not idiots and know, an outclassing when they see one. Furthermore, the captain of the undamaged ship realizes that the pirates will likely blow his ships to atoms if he tries to escape (as witnessed by their furious assault on the escort frigate.). The two ships comply with the boarding orders, turning control over to the troops.

Upon a manifest check, (whenever you get to it) the boarders discover that the ships, were loaded with, colonial setup-material of New Ortagan make. Machinery, Electronics,Spare parts, and building materials load down one ship. High-Stress Hydroponics, Foodstuffs, and Personnel Gear weigh down the other. The combined capacities of the freighter weigh in almost 400,000 tons.
