OOC: This thread has generated almost no response - 2 people willing to obsereve, but no players.. I know there are a few modern military RPers out there, as well as those who are willimg to play down. What is wrong? This really has me down on RP here. :cry:

Seeing as Tallcottia*s SF war games (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90823&highlight=) died, I am thinking about starting my own. These war games would be similar to Tallcottia*s.
Rules/Setup:
The war games will take place in Daistallia.
Teams will go through a series of interconnected missions covering the same terrain. You will be given 2-3 RL days for each mission.
Breifings will be given with detailed OPORDS and maps. You will be given a chance to ask questions about the breifing and to complete part of the OPORDS for yourself.
The missions will be RPed entierly by each participant - you write up part of the breifing and OPORDS, and the mission. You will control the OPFORS. Trtansport will be provided by Daistallian forces. You may supply any other equipment you need.
I will limit participants to 5 plus Daistallia. You will be sending a team of Special Operations Forces. Requirements for team composition will be posted shortly, so do not post your team yet PLEASE (it will mean having to re-do it or a DQ).
This event is strictly limited to hard modern tech. Any future tech will not be permitted.

I have some (hopefully) great ideas, but could use some help.
Specifically:
2-3 Observer/Controllers: These will act as judges. You should be willing to write up an AAR for each mission. Limited to those not sending teams (for neutralities sake).
1 Assistant host: I need help with the graphics - familiarity with military maps and symbols a plus.

Hopefully I can get this up and running in the next week or 2. :D

Team limit not decided yet, but probably 20-30 men platoons. Note these will probably be divided into teams for simultanious missions.
It is a war game, so non-lethal (MILES gear to be provided for those who do not have it).

Basically, an assault rifle and a pistol. The pistol comes standard with laser sight, and mabye, if aloud, a laser sight for the Assault Rifle. If not, I'll just tape the button of a laser pointer down, by taping it to the gun.

If not, I'll use a Silenced D5k Deusche and a Silenced PP7 (both from Goldeneye on n64) for my weapons. Except, some(depending on team size) will have a sniper rifle in stead of the D5k.

Laser sights are modern tech, unless you are planning something beyond current technology. Be aware of the drawbacks.

You mean HK MP-5s, right?

Yeah. I usually use tech. from RareWare games, so I'll use the Golden Eye stuff...much more covert...

AARs? you mean analyzing each stage?

Yep. AAR = After Action Report. That would be an analysis of the performance of each team. See the above thread for examples.
