You don't have to be involved in the above thread, just know my nation and be on reasonably friendly terms with it. I am a member of most of the post-GA alliances, so that could give you an excuse to join. Or join without a a reason. I don't care.

For background, read the above-linked thread (here, for the lazy among you (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101400)). It's not long.

What I'm looking for volunteers for are nations that will have a juror randomly selected from their nation, a judge, and a nation to hold the trial in. You are expected to RP about as good as I do or better. It's not a high standard.

I will be controlling the defense of Jennifer Knight, as well as Knight herself. I assume that LRR will be prosecuting, but I don't know for sure.

Yep.

Lets see, the charges:

45 counts of attempted murder (one for each crewmember of the LRR ship, counting the AI.)
1 Count of Attempting to overthrow a democratically elected government
1 count of unintentionally instegating rebellion

Prosecuters are in close contact with LRR detectives on the scene in Independent Pluto, who are examining the wreckage of the habitation cubes. Admiral Henderson will probably be called to testify, and LRR detectives have a hunch that the Liberation Army is not actually real, as all attempts to contact it have failed. Another 10,000 counts of murder could be slapped on once evidence of planning by President Knight shows up.

Yep. Those two. But LRR law places very high penalties on idiotic government leaders. Someone like Jennifer Knight could be arrested for parking violation and slapped with 10,000 counts of murder.

All right, since this is OOC, I might as well give you the evidence against her. The first count of murder is of the murder of the former fleet director. She was seen on video cameras arguing with him, and placed a small object on the walls (like quarter-sized) out of camera view. That was the fruit of an FTL experiment that didn't really work. It generated a little metal ball, which accelerated to amazing speeds, and killed the fleet director. It then disappeared, and the device left a little stain on the wall and nothing else.

The murder of the president was not RP'ed. Assume that there are no video records or any obvious evidence.

The attempted murder charges weree just RP'ed. Duh. An easy conviction.

Unintentionally instigating rebellion, another easy conviction. The rebels were obviously doing it because of her.

Attenpting to overthrow a democratically elected government is a judgement call. She wasn't turning it into a dictatorship, just changing it so that she had more power, and the leader had as much power as the Senate.

Unless you have a legit way to know this IC, you don't.

Jennifer Knight faces up to life in prison.

Those values don't necessarily apply in this court.
