Version 6

http://twr.1colony.com/version6/calc6.0.html

Feel free to comment on it and suggest any visual, code etc improvements for version 6. If you have any code I could add please post it.

I hope this new version is easier to use and much better than all the others together.

Nice, but is there such thing as +frightening? cuz thats an option on that calc

Nation: cosmo kramerica

Population: 1756000000

Economy: frightening

Average earnings Per Person: 36000USD per Month

Average earnings Per Person: 432000USD per Year

This means your GDP is 63216000000000 USD per month.

Per year this is 758592000000000 USD.

The government gets 8850240000000 USD per Month.

The government gets 106202880000000 USD per Year.

Your military will be roughly 3% of the population. So roughly 52680000

Your retired will be roughly 35% of the population. So roughly 614600000

heres the results if i choose +frightening instead

Nation: cosmo kramerica

Population: 1756000000

Economy: +frightening

Average earnings Per Person: 40000USD per Month

Average earnings Per Person: 480000USD per Year

This means your GDP is 70240000000000 USD per month.

Per year this is 842880000000000 USD.

The government gets 9833600000000 USD per Month.

The government gets 118003200000000 USD per Year.

Your military will be roughly 3% of the population. So roughly 52680000

Your retired will be roughly 35% of the population. So roughly 614600000

OOC: What is the difference with '+Freightening'?

OOC 2: Why just 3% of my population being military? We have more than that (like about 5%).

1) There should be one, sorry if there isn't it may just be a code problem.

2) It used to be 5% then someone said that was too high and I changed it. Have a look a version one.

You should have a selector for military percentage. That would be cool.

I must have tried 4 or 5 times, when I press "calculate", all I get is the logo at the top of the screen. No nation info, money info, military info etc at all...

I like it. At least it doesn't use Civil Rights.

Something like this encourages me to upgrade my own effort (http://members.fortunecity.com/thracetailteann/html/gnp.html). Maybe to something people can actually use without an Owner's Manual. :)

What does civil rights and political freedoms have to do with GDP and all?

I think it probably is browser specific, mainly because I have IE and haven't checked it on every browser then updated code.

Yes, I think I'm going to have a drop down-list that lets people choose how militaristic their nation is, and works it out from there.
07-01-2004, 18:34
It works on Opera... not sure about netscape because it isn't working on mine at the moment.

You definately need a drop down list for military...

3% works for small nations (less than 15 million). Try setting it to 1% or.5% for accurate results.

1) Which version do you most use?
2) What browser do you have?
3) What operating sys do you have?
4) Does your browser support frames?
5) What is your favorite color?

It's not bad certainly, but it doesn't take into account nations who have a much larger portion of their population in their military. Perhaps in future versions you could allow that to be entered as one of the variables also?

And retired? There's no such thing in my nation! They'll work till their dead or they'll die from lack of food (with a 100% income tax rate all food is owned and distributed by the government, therefore not only is anyone owning anything guilty of stealing or sucking up to the government, but it allows me to exert almost complete control over everyone. However, being somewhat of a benevolent ruler I allow them liberties such as beds, houses, cable tv (only propaganda channels though), etc...Really must stampt out those civil rights though...

Your military will be roughly 3% of the population. So roughly 0

Your retired will be roughly 35% of the population. So roughly 1

You have a very cruel personality. #Joke#

Good idea though, I would like to add something to allow people to choose their own military strengh

Also: Can anyone suggest a better figure for the retired people, the amount of.

The calculator assumes that 3% of the population is in the military...but some countries have compulsory military service. There should be an option for that, I think (assuming that it begins at age 19, for a couple of years, I don't know exactly how many the averge is LOL)

But nice job on the calculator
07-01-2004, 20:26
3% military is entirely too much. Its a high-end, not an average number.
Enerica

Could anyone find out what the percentages are likely to be if, for example, you have a very passive country, mayby a 2% army and so on. Thank-you I would appreciate it.
