attack on post X-832B

Celack

Out in space there is a small brown planet. Unremarkable in appearance. It was covered in mountains and valleys. Yet, even though it was unremarkable and small with almost no resources, it was still very important. The was almost halfway in between the Sphere (The Celackian capital cluster) and the Celackian colonies. It was also in the middle of common space. It (with proper equipment) could listen in on many communications. It was for these reasons that it was selected as a listening post/ communications array. A Celackian frigate was posted there as it's only space defense. Many thought that the planet was used as a Celackian testing ground and that was the official word on it. The only supplies were brought in by some Tiburonese ships in exchange for information.

6 hours before the monthly convoy of supplies were due to arrive something else did. A young officer in the control room in the outpost noticed it first. He noticed it was larger than the normal size of the convoy, he then noticed that the ships were not the same type, then he noticed they were warships. Total elapsed time: 3 seconds. He hit the general alarm button and paged the base commander.

“Sir code red! We have a possibly hostile fleet moving the area. The back-up fleet is still investigating the loss of X-832A or X-832C . They will be back in a day. We only have the Linpar for defense.”

“How long until the supplies arrive?”

“6 hours sir. I think they have several ships protecting it.”

“So if they land we have to hold out for 6 hours?”

“Yes sir. It won't take them long to take down the Linpar and land troops sir. Also sir I hate to tell you this but we haven't received word from. It believe we are the only communications array still up. If we fall the colonies will lose communications with the Sphere and they will be ripe for conquest.”

“Get the troops ready. I want the auto guns ready and the mechs in position. If we're lucky LVL 1&2 will hold them off long enough for backup.”
