N.A.O. and Avery Frost to test new ordinance in The Provisional Government of The Island States.

It was announced today that The Provisional Government of The Island States is providing a testing ground for N.A.O.'s new top secret ordinance. The test will be in conjuction with tests of Avery Frost Aeronautics top secret 'Sword of Damocles' project.

"We've been testing the Sword for nearly three years now and N.A.O. is finally ready to build and test ordinance for it, if the tests go okay then we'll give the contract to them.. excuse me (pauses to answer the phone) this is Frost,oh my god, when did this happen? How much? Pardon me, I've got to run, someone ate part of my lunch" said Avery Frost, President and sole proprietor of Avery Frost Aeronautics LTD.

A spokesman for N.A.O. stated that Dr. Hans Mettleschmertz and a construction team were headed to The Island States to begin preliminary operations.

On the IVEX both Avery Frost LTD and N.A.O. LTD traded higher on the expectation of sucessful testing.

In a later announcement, the Provisional Government of The Island States stated they had made the transition to a Republic-style government. Declaring the 'Second Republic' was now in business, they would continue to allow their unoccupied testing islands to be used for Ilek-Vaad's research.

Dr. Hans Mettleschmertz and the foreman of the construction team, Dave Grieger, disembark from their first class flight to the Island States.

"David, I need you to secure everything we need, and quickly. Mr. Frost has been all over our board of directors and getting his contract mean a lot to every man and women at N.A.O."

Dave nodded "There won't be a hitch, I'm sure we can be ready by next month at least..."

Dr. Mettleschmertz paused and looked sideways at the foreman "Two weeks, we have two weeks.David, it's both of our jobs if Mr. Frost doesen't get a missle for his new......whatever it is."

Dave nodded again "Okay two weeks, no problem, I'll just work 24 hours a day until I drop dead."

Dr. Mettleschmertz nodded "Very good David. Now I suppose I should track down some politicos and rub elbows."

Dave shook his head and thought 'that was sarcasm you jackass' ,Dave didn't like Dr. Mettleschmertz, no one did.

Dave surveyed the scene as his workmen completed work on the several steel structured 'sky scrapers'. The work had proceeded quickly with help from contractors in the Island states. Dave plucked his Nextel from his belt and beeped Dr. Mettleschmertz.

Dr. M: "Yes Dave?"

Dave: "Tomorrow we'll begin shipping in the livestock and the day after we will be ready for the tests."

Dr. M: "Excellent David. We'll aboard the Naval Guard Cruiser 'Corsair' in two days. The Minister of Defence and Mr. Von Raukov as well as Mr. Frost will be on hand for the tests."

Dave: "Alrighty, over and out."

In international waters off of Ilek-Vaad, the Naval Guard Cruiser 'Corsair' sits, a helicopter lands on it's deck. Several officers move out to meet Dr. Mettlkeschmertz and Dave.

"Doctor, right this way, everyone is assembled."

The party heads to Corsairs fire control, where among the usual crew waits, Avery Frost (CEO of Avery Frost Aeronautics), Ilek-Vaad's Minister of Defence and Staff Seargent Mirai Assad of the First Red Jaguar Command.

"Greetings everyone, Mr. Frost, is your pilot ready to proceed?" says Dr. Mettleschmertz

Avery Frost nod, putting on a head set , he leans over to a keypad and the screens in fire control begin to light up with live shots of the test area, and 1 live shot that appears to be from orbit he then talks into his headset "Rainman, this is Frost, do you copy?"

Rainman "Yes, I copy, over."

AF "Our systems show you are in position, could you give us a tracking feed so we can be sure?"

Rainman "Roger that, feed initiated."

AF" Right ,we got you, I'm highligghting target area now."

Rainman "Roger, target locked, launch sequence initiated."

After a few seconds the camera shot from orbit shows a thin black dart like object falling into view and then it disappears quickly as it slips at a curve along earth's orbit.

Avery Frost looks over to all gathered "We'll know any minute now."

Seconds later there is a flash on the screens of the target site, and then they go blank and fuzzy, seconds after that a shockwave rocks the ship, a minute later, 3 sonic booms are heard.

"Holy Hell!" yells Avery Frost "Get those camera's back online, they're in shielded bunkers, an atomic bomb can't knock them out!?"

Dr. Mettleschmertz smiles wrly "No a nuclear weapon could not breach those bunkers, what you have witnesses is a neutron explosion."

The room grows silent as everyone looks back at the doctor, fitfully one of the cameras, 12 miles from the epicenter of the blast shiows a grainy image of a narrow, tall mushroom cloud quickly collapsing on itself. In the distance, the 'skyscraper' super structures that were built around the test site slowly slump into pools of molten metal as they glow white hot, then the camera dies.

Dave and his crew stepped from the helicopter, moving slowly in their hardened ABC suits. They were now just miles from the bomb's epicenter and it was still hot. Dave looked around, his geiger counter going crazy. One of his men stepped up "Everything's been burnt to cinders, the trees, the bushes, even the sand is lumped and blasted together"

Dave looked up "What about the livestock? We need to check the cattle pens"

Dave and his team moved downhill and approached the livestock pens. The sight was enough to draw gasps from the whole crew. The cows had no fur and were all partially on their side, as if just knocked over, they were all stiff and fried to each other, like leftover french fries over cooked in the microwave.

Dave looked to hi cameraman "Get this on film..........there are no flies, no anything, absolutely nothing is alive, see if we can chisel some flesh off the cows for analysis."

The crew got to work carefully, Dave checked his his Geiger counter again, it was still high, but it had dropped drastically. He then moved to his main purpose. He approached the egg like bunker that held the 4 mile camera, it had died at the same instance of the explosion.

He moved his hand over the reinforced concrete structure, the concrete flaked and powdered any place he persistently prodded it. The concrete was still hot, and devoid of moisture, it was like a dried out clump of dirt. He carefully removed the rear panel, steam gushed out, and so did liquid lead. The pressure and heat from the bomb had melted the lead lining, the camera was destroyed. Dave paused and took pictures.

Dave moved back to his crew, sweating profusely "Let's get out of here, it's still way too hot." The crew moved to the helicopter and departed.

Avery Frost Reveals 'Sword of Damocles' to Press.

After it was announced last week that Narvik Advanced Ordinance had sucessfully detonated a Neutron bomb Avery Frost awarded the lucrative 'Sword of Damocles' contract to N.A.O. Today the press and public got the first look at the 'Sword'.

The 'Sword' is classified as an OSV (Oribital Strike Vehicle) and is designed to carry an array of conventional weaponry as well as the new N.A.O. 'Perun's Hammer' neutron bomb. The 'Sword' is powred by two AF-E372 Pegasus Anti-Gravity engines. The press got see the 'Sword' hover out of it's hangar today.

"This ladies and gentle is the vehicle that delivered the first neutron bomb. The Sword of Damocles can reach mach 8+ speeds and can be in orbit in 2 minutes. It has sucessfully orbited the moon twice and thanks to the N-Field generator, radar cannot detect it!" Avery Frost told reporters.

The estimated price tag for the Sword will be 2.8 billion DR and the rights to it and it's ordinance have already been purchased by the Ministry of Defence in Ilek-Vaad.

"The People of Ilek-Vaad now own the rights to both the Sword and Perun's hammer. Avery Frost Aeronautivs and N.A.O. hold exclusive production rights. This will ensure that no hostile nation can possess these weapons." Said the Minister of Defence.

Both Avery Frost Aeronautics and N.A.O. LTD gained on the IVEX.

N.A.O. Holds Press Conference on it's Perun's Hammer Neutron Ordinance

DR. Hans Mettleschmertz, lead designer of the Perun's Hammer, engaged the press today with a brief rundown of the ordiannce's design and ability. The following text is from the News Conference at N.A.O. Headquartets in Narvik.

"Greetings everyone, thank you very much for attending. I will now do my best to explain our new neutron ordinance. Here (he motions to the 8ft oblong finned balck object on the stand behind him) is the Perun's Hammer, this is not a scale moadel, this is the actual case. It is 8.25 feet long and weighs 450 lbs. It's offical yield is 5 megatons, but that does not account for it's prodigeous effect."

"What this ordiance does is amazing. At a height of 1 mile above it's target, it releases a quadra-linear chain reaction. The first half of the reaction splits the atom, the second reaction pulverises the released material, producing a burst of neutrinos and sub-atomic plasma. This quickly spreads over an 11 mile radius. Neutrinos as you know are not impeded by physical barriers........so they pass through bunkers, the ground walls etc. and make everything they touch radioactive and heat solid objects to enourmous temperatures."

"The radioactivity while very high and immediately deadly, quickly tails off. In the reaction, the fissionable material is destroyed and the resulting isotopes have a very short half life, within a year of the initail detonation, radiation levels should be very close to habitable."

OOC: So, surface level is heated to crazy levels for a short period, and all bunkers are leathally radioactive, right? For me, the difference is a large one, as the radioactivity I can deal with, but super melting action, is still super melting action.

OOC: you are correct. Inside most surface fortifications would also be super heated too, deeper ones and ones shielded to stop the neutrino flow would of course be safer.

Are you implying that I'll need to drop one on you soon? I've got my eye on you...................

OOC: Not really, long ago I posted one of my megalomanical claims for my GM project. That being immunity to cellular degredation, thats radiation and genetic viruses, no one cared and I was much pleased. So, whilst I doubt that mutual destruction is in the future, it's always good to know what capable nations super weapons do.

IC: "Sir, agents in Ilek-Vaad report a new super weapon has been developed there. It's in all over the press, almost like they want people to know."

"Good for them", muttered High Commander Reilock Coratha "Is it any good? I have a lot of.....urrr....Paperwork to complete."

The aide looked down at the pristine heavy oak desk, lacking any paper at all.

"Yes.....I see. It is an excelent weapons system, capable of penetrating all but our most fortifed bunkers. As such the Generals have requested that the bunkers be upgraded to resist the Weapon"

"Bah! Can't you see I'm busy?!? Fine, green light the program, just Go! See? Busy! Oh and send Krystal in for her Appointment"

The aide to the Minister of Defence rushes in "Ma'am , the Foolish Peasants are building bunkers that can foil the Perun's Hammer!"

The Minister paused "Who?"

The aide shuffled his feet "The Foolish Peasents?"

The Minister looked at him "Why are you wasting my time?"

The aide did not want to risk the Ministers wrath and ran as fast as he could!
