KALIGRAD- With the recent commissioning of the EOE Cumberland (AT-1295T), Evil Overlord Enterprises Military Department has achieved the goal of 1000 ships in service.
The Cumberland is the last of the 124 Nile class Assault Landing ships to be commissioned. This new class of amphibious assault transport is designed to carry a company of Zhukov Main Battle Tanks to the shores of a hostile nation.
The Nile class Assault Transports are the latest new class of amphibious vessels to join the EOE Navy, and fulfill a critical mission in landing tanks on hostile shores. The Empress class assault transports can also carry tanks, but require the LC-30H Hovercraft to get the tanks to shore.
The Nile class ships are designed to run their bows into a suitable beach and deploy the tanks onboard directly onto the shore. Each vessel is equipped with two forward-mounted turrets mounting two 155mm Durendal cannon per turret for defense suppression and close-in fire support, as well as four 30mm Hephaestus chaingun pods for local defense.
