SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT BY THE COMMITTEE OF HEADS:

A while back, the Mechacultura Historical Re-enactment Society took the opportunity to leave the Endless Path-class voidship hiRamml when it swung by the vicinity of Ancient Earth, and discovered that our civilization had in fact been thrown far back in time, as well as across the universe. With great excitement, we studied up on histories and recon data, and moved into the lands our forefathers had vacated a ridiculously few years before we returned. The chance to live as our ancestors did, and to perhaps discover just what did cause the Great Ejection, was too much for some of us to resist.

Only a few generations later, however, many of our young are growing increasingly irritated that we made decisions that drastically limited their life options. Also, problems have turned up in supporting some of our people who had biomods made that are incompatible with our present life, and we had already given up the the technology that would help them. This tension is not entertaining to the old MHRS membership, and not healthy for the protesters, so we have reestablished contact with the hiRamml, and they have agreed to make a return trip. Those who wish may leave Mechacultura and rejoin the Great Flights.

Those who stay will be required to accept that we are indeed limited to the technology and economy of those who's planet we share, even if we have knowledge that would be useful. In support of this, all artifacts we maintained from the voidship shall be returned to it with the citizens being reinstated, and all databases of non-terrestrail provenance will be permanantly purged. Those with specifically problemmatical biomods WILL be on the flight to the hiRamml. The rest of us will eventually contribute our modified genes to the greater human community through interbreeding.

It is time to make a choice. Forever to roam the stars, or to join your destiny with Earth's. Thank you for listening, and have a good day.

NEWS REPORT INTERCEPTS

The announcement earlier this week that a voidship was swinging back around to pick up citizens unhappy about being stuck in what they call "the wilds" has created a real stir in Mechacultura. Downtown Bilsom City has seen demonstrators take to the streets. They have so far been peaceful, and most are confused. One demonstrator had this to say, "I don't see what all the fuss is about. It's obviously a great thing that the opressive regime in charge of Mechacultura wants to keep us from achieving our destiny and dominating Earth and it's fledgling colonies. What's to protest about, being sent away in disgrace to civilization?"

We find it disconcerting that the citizens of Mechacultura take the Exodus Announcement to be anything other than what it is. An honest, humanitarian attempt to allow all citizens a chance to pursue happiness in the way that best suits them. It is to everyone's best interest to get relapsed Lowgeemod-descended people back into the environment they are safe and comfortable in, and out of expensive groundside treatment. Who can complain that the opportunity to live the lifestyle our grandparents and great-grandparents gave up, practically on a lark, and without consulting their descendents? However you feel about leaving, or having loved ones leave, please try to keep some perspective and remember that the Committee of Heads only had our best interests at heart, and that the voidship hiRamml did not have to turn back for a few hundred thousand whiners and medcases.
