A serries of Royal Decrees have brought major controversy as Czarina Alexandria begins her Reign, they include.
~For the first time in Imperial history Abortion is now legal
~Civil Unions for Homosexuals will be allowed, however the Czarina cannot force the various religious institutions to allow for ceremonial union in their various Churches.
~Religious Freedom is now granted to the Mormons who for the past century were forbidden to practice their faith.
~An extention of the lift on the Ban of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will not allow for Civil Polygamy Unions and the Church has agreed not to practice this aspect.
~The Ban on Cloning (which was written into law by Czar Aleix III after he read Brave New World) will be lifted and experiments on ANIMAL Cloning will be allowed, but the ban on human experiments will stand.
These decisions have spark controversy among the members of the Royal Houses and among the Great and Minor Houses but all were written by Alexandria II herself and bear her seal and the Treaty of St. Hansburg requires all Houses to obey House Azarada unless evidence of unfitness to hold the throne is found (and it would be next to impossible to prove it). In short her decisions will stand.
