Several Days Earlier:
"The Federal Republic of New York and New Jersey must move so that its borders remain secure. While we have allies to the South, our northern and western border remains with those who we have no diplomatic contant with. This situation is unacceptable and therefor with the permission of President de los Santos, I will wage Operation Icy Path..." The announcement came from the head of the Federal Army, George C Marshall, as he had recently gotten permission fromthe President of NYNJ to carry out Operation Icy Path(OPIC). It was decided that a quick offensive in the north followed by a sustained offensive to the west is what was most likely to work. With bases within striking distance of all the targets the war wasnt expected to last to long.

The Present:
The 2nd Tank Division and 3rd Motorized Division formed on the border of Vermont/New Hampshire while to the south east the 5th Tank Division and the 2nd Motorized Division formed up on the Massachusetts/New Hampshire border. On the Vermont line General George Patton had been tasked with cutting the state down the middle pushing all the way through the southern tip of Maine and to the Atlantic itself. To the south on the Mass. Line General Omar Bradley was tasked with meeting up with Pattons line and ensure that the troops boxed off in southern New Hampshire were either destroyed or forced to surrender.

In New York the whirl of helicopters could be heard the 1st and 5th Air Cavalary Divisions under command of General Norman Sherwood took to the skies and proceeded toward the north. They would make a deep strike past Pattons cutline and attempt to secure the northern part of New Hampshire. This was all dependant upon the fact that no military equipment had been moved into NH after NH was bought off the New York and New Jersey Republic decades ago. It was seen as a manifest destiny situation as the NYNJ Republic felt as if the two states in the north were a blight on the Republic and the Western nation of Ohio which turned communist was a threat which could not be ignored for any longer.

As the hour approached for the point of no return General Marshall took in a deep breath and picked up the satellite radio standing just outside of the main military HQ in New York City. "General Patton,Bradley,Sherwood good luck and god speed to your Army Groups. Remember speed is the key."

A few more words were spoken before the lines went silent. As the time ticked away the few remaining seconds of peace each soldier did what they believed would get them through the next few days without harm. A whistle sounded once then died. On the Vermont Line the whoosh of helicopters could be heard in the South West as the Airborne Divisions of General Sherwood moved on their mission. Below them Pattons troops began their own movement across the winter lands toward the now enemy state. On the Mass line, things went slightly slower. Bradley had made sure that his Motorized Divisions attached Artillary Brigade worked with his Armored Divisions AH-64Ds to try and pinpoint any likely military targets and strike at them repeatedly with rocket fire, and shell fire.

OOC:No NYNJ both left the US in a joint solidarity move, NY for the monetary power and NJ for the industrial. It was the surrounding red that pretty much got annexed.

Six Miles South of Concord-
2nd Motorized Division HQ-

"Colonel, I'm sorry to disturb you sir, but General Bradley wants a report on our progress sir." The staff aid announced to the Divisions commander as he met with the respective Battalion and Regimental COs on operation status and movement of troops. The tired Colonel looked up from the map after moving one of the pieces forward and putting it atop of the Capital of Concord and reached a hand out to grab the field radio from the Lieutenant. "General Sir, this is Colonel Kessler, we've moved ahead of our time table. No real resistance has been encountered as of yet. The country that took New Hampshire off of us didnt really decide to do much with it. One of my Regimental Units is suppose to be moving into the Capital City of Concord....Yes sir not to worry I'll inform you immediately of when the city has fallen."

The Colonel handed the radio back over to the aid when it was clear nothing but static was there and looked over toward his subbordinates, "I believe that needs no explination. The General thinks we're doing rather well. Hell we are ahead of the time table and at this rate the entire Southern area of New Hampshire will have fallen within the next several hours. Where is Helms division?" The divisional intelligence officer marked down where the 5th Tank Division should have been. "No report from my counterpart in the 5th TD,sir. They should however be in this general vacinity to the east of us. They were tasked with capturing the New Hampshire coast. There is still no reports of fighting so as far as we know the 5th TD is still moving north."

The Colonel nodded and moved over toward the side and put his finger down at Concord, "Let the 5th Tank Division advance as much as it wants North. Jim your regiment is about to move into Concord isnt it?"

The Major nodded his head slightly and cleared his throat, "Yes sir. My regiment is just south of the town and is waiting for resupply."

"Resupply? You need Bradleys and Abrams and RTs to capture Concord? Would you like an air strike as well?" A small round of laughter came from around the planning board and the Major of the Regiment in question shook his head quickly from side to side. "No Colonel, I'll order the troops to dismount and go in on foot. "

"Thats better Major. I want the capital captured quickly. "

251st Regimental HQ just half a mile south of Concord-
"Alright troops dismount!Dismount take what you need. Spare clips, 'nades. The works." Sergeants called this out along the line of Bradleys and Trucks which sat to the sides of the road leading toward Concord which was clearly visable and a short walk away from the outskirts. The soldiers looked at each other in relative disbelief as they prepared to do battle with a foe that had for the most part been unarmed civilians and local police forces. Niether of which had put up much of a fight.

"So...what haven of evil is this suppose to be?"

"Concord? Well...I dont know...I hear it has a Police Force of about 100-200..."

"Two hundred whole cops you say? I've been in supermarkets that employed most people. This invasion is a joke."

The line of soldiers kept their chatter as it was a steady stream of troops about 1,000 in all which began to move from the south toward Concord.
