Ithuania: For such a large order we must ask for evidence that you actually have that much money to blow on ships in-character. Have you just been saving up, or have you been making a lot of extra cash recently? This order is double your GDP.

The Republic of Ithuania finances governmental primarily through punitive fines levied on criminals. In a nation with a population of over 1.3 billion with a crime rate that is commonly described as "crippling", it is able to collect more than enough to pay for salaries of officials, minimal building and land space to carry out its business, and its military.

OOC: I did the math...with a crime rate of 0.1%, there would be an average of approximately $6.7 million/criminal to pay the $90 trillion of this order. Given that 0.1% is below what most would call "crippling", as well as the fact that fines are based as much on ability to pay (a $1000 fine for, say, vandalism is hardly "punishment" for the son of an executive of the third-largest company in a country with a "frightening" economy) as the crime itself, this AVERAGE value is quite reasonable, I think--especially since Ithuania has been around for a while now and so the money collections would be spread out over a while--also don't forget that given our economy, banks can afford to pay excellent interest on savings accounts.

Yeah, there are other expenses as well, but they are so trifling by comparison that they really would have no effect on the average collected/criminal.

It's 5,000 X 2,500 X 2,000 kilometers, so yeah, a small planet is a good comparison. The next biggest one is the Eclipse class, a huge step down at a comparatively tiny 18 X 7 X 6 kilometers. We sell that, but only to people we trust. Too powerful to just put into the hands of any nation with money.

we are interested in what may amount to a custom order based around "the hospital class". we are looking for the hospital class without weaponry, slipdrive, defensive armour, and the internal structure. basically just the hull, with lifesupport and subliminal drive.

I would just like to point out that an ESSD has a total crew of 712,645 where 4,175 are gunners. I understand that you have your own kind of ESSD, but I still think you should modify the total crew, since you have alot more of Cannons and stuff, wich requiers more gunners.

If you wonder anything else about Imperial ships, just send me a telegram.

Danneland: I don't have an intrest in the Star Wars universe. Our ships operate with minimum crew because individual gunners and lower function crewmembers are not needed. AIs and EIs are installed on most ships, and they handle almost all the targeting and firing and steering and operations etc. The Humans are just there to tell it what to do and to act as ackups and repairmen for when stuff breaks and as mobile units.

would there be the possiblity of a bulk order discount? we are looking at purchasing 75 to 100 of such hulls. though that number may change, it is fairly close to the upper limit. given the nature of project noar (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99618) we can be fairly flexible about the delivery schedule.

OOC: Okay, a short bit here to the scrutinizing eyes of the NationStates community. The player behind PSO Capital States, as some of you may have heard me mention, is a friend of mine in real life. Over the past several weeks (and months, even) I have been discussing with that player the financial status of his nation. As we agreed that during his period of inactivity (over half a year) he would have a significant portion of his budget free for placement in savings for lack of new projects or technological updates of special nature. Having determined a relatively low fixed percentage, we used a GDP calculator and an estimation of his nation's growth to determine the capital he had to spend on this purchase. Determining the total unused cash over his period of absence (assuming 1 RL day = 1 NS year) to be in the neighborhood of $400-$500 trillion, those numbers are now being used to build the beginnings of his modern (future) military. Now, hopefully that will stem most of the cries of "godmod", so I'll continue IC.
