I know what you mean. I had so much fun playing Nos. I mean, nothing better than an ass slapping pompous character. The things I think of when I get bored. You all can not leave me alone on here when I am bored, or I fear the sanity of the NationStates world will fail. I mean, the characters I make, the threads I start. What next?

Jokes aside I would just like to point out that my refusal to allow Michael to be read is following the basic idea of freedom all Iuthian's enjoy... they can take any drug they like, choose not to wear clothes and enoy many other freedoms. Freedom of the mind is something he feels very strongly about, so the subject of rooting through his mind is touchy to say the least.

It's not impossible, I bet even Genesis could force her way into his mind... unlike James DeGritz he hasn't trained to hard to prevent torture, nor is Michael as strong willed as James. However, accidental reading of his mind or casual reading of his mind is impossible, someone strong enough could accidentally pick up his thoughts, but then they would be listening to the sound of a mouse walking in the middle of a Iron Maiden concert... so the voices of other people would drown out Michaels thoughts. The point is simple... if you mean to read his mind, you have to push, which isn't pleasant for either of you. Should Michael let you do it I may change this depending on your relationship to him as natural resistance becomes a factor.


Basically put, I wanted a RP tool that forced people to use something other them telepathy to understand him, it allows for mistakes and in my gives Michael that additional mystery and interest he would otherwise lack. It also makes dealing with him that bit more interesting as conversation becomes your sole method of comunication again.

I was always unsure of that... I guessed your name must be in there somewhere but I kept with the idea that Shentavo was taken from something I hadn't seen.

I have never had a character with my name as of yet, even though it's prettty common. I seem to either go with foriegn sounding names for last names and really common ones for the first name... mainly because I've always been facinated with the idea of a normal character in a paranormal environment.

I think even Varya started life as a bar maid living a simple life on a crappy wage.

Lol. And guess what? My greatest downfall is pride....

I have only used that name in my characters...the others are from my mind. Yay! lol. Interesting concept you have. I NEED to have a foreign last name...it's just me... (Shentavo is italian :wink: )

Sorry for the insomnia, but I love the tribute.

Just a warning though Rave... step carefully when trying to teach Advanced Combat to someone as simple* and normal as Michael. My current opinion is that "Bone Akido" is the art of showing off while being abnormally strong, so unless it makes sense for a character with physical limitations I will make a point of failing...

Like I said last time, alot of the time fighting cabability relies more on experience then knowledge of the best martial art, if you've been fighting all your life the chances are you can take on a martial artist and give them a run for their money. Not that I'm saying Michael will be good, he has military training, which is barely enough experience to be great, but they do teach you enough to know how to disarm someone quickly... it an important skill for all military forces.

Point being this... most people here Michael will look upon as "Extra-normal" on the ground that Michael thinks he is "Normal" and as such he will think of himself not as any lower then you guys, just not in the same high powered good at both magic and combat league.


Shame really, cause it means Michael will think your good at combat because your a magic being, and not because you are actually good at combat.


*Never forget, simple is not the same as stupid... alot of people make that mistake.
