I see people posting their defense budget and such on International Incidents, how do I do so? I read through the whole FAQ and I didn't see anything about it.

None of the responses on the poll fit :) - you're not dumb, you just don't know that much about the game yet. People calculate their GDP and budget using GDP and budget calculators (state the obvious...) which you should be able to find through Google. The stickies also have information on economy and budget, and if I remember correctly there is a link to a GDP calculator in one of the stickies.

No point checking your GDP and stuff. That is for nerds dude.

When you get to the point of composing your own national anthem, creating a language, drawing a highly detailed and accurate map of your nation's base in Outer Wherever and assessing your military and civilian budgets in regard to the number of retirees and children in your nation along with the impact of the military as non-earners... then, my boy, you will know the meaning of nerdishness :D .

No it means you have an imagination. Also their is nothing wrong with being a nerd. Nerds get better grades better SAT ACT... scores. GO to better colleges. Live better lives, and those who made fun of them for being nerds will be sucking up to them for money. Lets not forget an old chinese saying " Judge a man not by the questions he asks but by the answers he gives."

IMO there's 3 types of nerds.

1 is the nerd as a "tough guy" sees it. In this case the nerd is anyone who is hated for being smart. Nothing wrong with this guy.

2 is the nerd who tries to make people hate him for being smart. May be a teacher's pet or something. This guy's an asshat.

3 is the nerd who spends his life on the internet playing games like this one. There are varying degrees of nerdishness here. There's people who just play it for fun, which is ok, there's people who get into it but they still realize it's a game, and there are those who think that their internet life reflects their real life, which is bad.

Agreed with RF. I'm fairly into the game... ish... I mean, I'm thinking about making a military. Not just saying 'I have 500 tanks!' but actually finding out how much stuff costs, RPing military development, placing orders for equipment and so on. I would never have done this if it wasn't for the fact that I'm on holiday at the moment, so I'm sitting around at home with too much free time. Those who end up creating Everquest Widows or the like... that's where the problem begins.

Sigh. Few things to post here.

1. Use this (http://www.esyn.org/SOTA/NationStates.html) to check your budget.

2. Cuneo, ever think there might be a reason people don't like you? Ever think it has something to do with what you post and how you treat people?

3. This should be posted in Tech or NS (probably NS), not General. No worries, mistakes happen. :)

Protest that I'm not that into the game? What I meant by being into it was creating maps of your territory, writing out pages of stats for your new ubertank, and so on. By my definition, I'm not that into it. But hey, this is me protesting, so I guess you'll take it as proving your point. And what does post count have to do with anything? Check my posts - you'll see the majority are in General i.e. unconnected or very loosely connected to the game.
