The Apocalypse class is a ship design created in the early thirty-third century by the Xanthalian Armada. Two of the massive ships were built to serve as the ultimate weapons of mass destruction available to Xanthal. Capable of destroying planets and stars alike regardless of armor or shielding, they rank as one of the most powerful vessel types known today. The project cost over two hundred trillion dollars, and took three decades to complete. Now, a century later, times have changed. The Republic is at peace. We have many close allies. Our claims are smaller and easier to defend.
In these times, there is no need to continue to maintain both of our Apocalypse class ships. We cannot in good conscience sell such a vessel; such a powerful ship cannot be trusted in the hands of those that might abuse it. To avoid the waste of simply destroying it, XAS-161, the older of the two ships, will be dismantled and it's parts re-used in the construction of future Armada vessels.
Xanthal will continue to maintain the Apocalypse class XAS-162 in the event its power is needed in the future.

The Republic is at peace.
Says the ub3r-spacepower nation spending trillions to create massive 18km Warships to kick people's asses with... :P

Why not have big capital ships of the sky that costs trillions of dollars to build, it tells everyone not to mess with the guy or we will destroy your small planet.

Ehh, good point.
Heh. Foe Hammer has around 200 9km long Capitol Ships... But we're never at peace. We're always armed and ready.

Foe Hammer (1): There's a fine line between being adequately defended and being overly defended. I'm just trying to walk it.

Foe Hammer (2): As are we, but there's such a thing as being at peace while being armed and ready. Just because you're prepared to face a threat doesn't mean there has to be (or even should be) one.

Koilos: That's the general thought behind all WMDs. "If they know we can destroy them too they won't attack us." It works great until some jackass actually fires. Then everybody gets blown to hell.
