Kadursk - Official Map - Contains Image... Work in Progress

01-01-2004, 16:24
I'm working on a map of the Free City of Kadursk on the edge of the Former Mordorian Protectorate (which city is seeing a lot of activity at the moment what with all the elf-sponsored terrorism etc).

This is still a work in progress, but as I update the site on which the image lurks, the map ought to get more complete.

Feedback welcome (eg at the moment: "There's not much there is there?" - in particular there are no text labels at present but they will be going on soon)

OOC:
Your Image isn't working. It's Geocities and they have an image blocker, use a different host or rename it as a .txt (it will still work as an image but won't be blocked by Geocities).

Go Profantasy!

:P

Nice city map. If you can, nab Fractal Terrains. It makes excellent territory maps.

Thanks for the image help! It seemed to be working fine in my browser in this post when I first checked but now it is down! I shall use your cunning "rename" ploy.

And yes it is built using Profantasy Software's excellent Campaign Cartographer! All credit to them.

Fractal Terrains is astonishing - and doesn't half speed up mapping. Export a FT map into CC in seconds. Advert over...

No problem, but thank 1 Infinite Loop for the 'cunning rename ploy', I found it out from him.

www.profantasy.com

They produce a range of mapping software designed for RPG enthusiasts. The core product is Campaign Cartographer (which while it can do practically anything is more focussed on terrain maps). Add ons include Dungeon Designer (new functions, symbols, templates, geomorphs etc for underground areas), and City Designer (for cities! That's what I'm using for Kadursk).

Their website goes into lots more detail of course. I've been using their products ever since CC for DOS and wouldn't use anything else.
