From aboard the Mestionian flagship Orion a high ranking CC officer approaches a podium laid betwix two Mestionian flags. The officer wears a brilliant white formal dress uniform laiden with countless medals and citations. On his shoulders he wears the rank of Commodore, the second highest rank a Coastal Defense officer can attain. Upon reaching the podium, he removes his crested cap, lays it before him, clears his throat, and begins to speak.

Nations of the world, as of twelve o'clock this morning, the Mestionian Coastal Command has issued a warning to all merchant and military vessles cruising the waters in and around the region of Mestionia. The Mestionian Costal Defense Forces cannot ensure safe passage through waterways in and around the island nation. Such warning has been prompted by recent acts of piracy in the Atesum Sea. Many vessles have been seized by marauding bands of thieves in heavily armed, high speed boats, no mercy was shown to the crew of said vessles. It is in the best interest of all parties if all nations cease trade by sea in and around Mestionian until further notified by the Costal Command. Any vessles working directly with the Mestionian government will be given military escort on request. We hope to have the situation under control and Mestionian's ports re-opened poste haste. That is all.

The Federal Government will be watching the situation around Mestionian with a careful eye. The Republic currently maintains a huge merchant fleet, that is nominally protected by our equally expansive Navy, however the Navy is currently being forced to divert assets to a new operation, leaving far less ships to patrol the shipping lanes then under norm conditions.

We cannot afford at this time to have any of our ships attacked, as it will require an immediate response that would force away resources from our upcoming operations, however we can also not afford to halt trade on any of our routes, as our nation is heavily dependent on foreign trade and export to maintain the economy.

If the Mestionian government cannot get the situation under control, the Federal Navy will exert it's own force in the region, which will mean a violiation of Mestionian waters and possible seizure of terrain for basing usage to hunt down these pirates. Becuase we would prefer to keep good relations with Mestionian, and not to have to divert major resources, the Senate wishes the Mestionian Government the best of luck in nuetralizing this threat quickly, and offers the Mestionians the usage of at least one Aerulius class Q-ship to hunt these pirates down.
