Spectacular New Year's Raid in Starbridge!

Starbridge, Patoxia - The New Year's celebration in Patoxia ended tragically earlier today in a hail of gunfire, as several aircraft started strafing the crowd gathered in Palmer Square, and several other aircraft started bombing, seemingly at random, around the capitol city.
John Wayhorn, the mayor of Starbridge, commented “We were just about to shoot off the fireworks when we heard the roar of aircraft engines and then... and then... Oh God... the carnage.” and then slowly walked back into his office.
The Air Militia was in the air within an hour and a dogfight ensued over the capitol with one enemy aircraft and three Patoxian Air Militia P-40 Kitty Hawks being downed before the attackers 'bugged out'. As spectacular as the raid on the capital was, it seems that it was mostly a distraction, as another group raided Talon Aviation's private airfield and made off with twelve TK-75a Bullet Hawks and two large cargo zeppelins.
Officials have have stepped up Air Patrols around the country and are calling for larger military spending to help fight the criminals and beat the devils at their own game.
The death toll is reported to be 175 with over 1,500 wounded in the Starbridge area.
OOC:
The attackers are a native air pirate group that had conducted a few small raids in northern areas of Sakhalin.
