Valnoria introduces itself to the world.

01-01-2004, 06:27
Far above the crowds of thousands of spectators, King Dioneses moves out of his castle door, a strange combination of modern and ancient technology, there are cameras and a podium on finely polished marble stairs.

With shoulder length grey hair, and a thin golden crown adorned on his head, King Dioneses, clad in a white royal suit, with a red sash, began his speech.

"People of Valnoria, and people of the world. For over Five hundred years, since the time of my fathers, fathers, father, King Miriaric. We have been in isolation. An island nation left in the mists of the past, and its culture left in the shrouds of mystery, we sent out an ship in search our ancient brothers in the north, only to find lands of Glass and Steel. With towers that reached to the sky like giant hands. We will seek to open our doors to this new world, and ask that any nation that would be willing to assist a Nation to achieve a new height in this world, would have a friend for life."

"Upon this day, the last of the the outer worlds year, we hope that by tommorow, the first of its new, we will strive also to make a new beggining, for the lands and people of Valnoria."

*The Tercero, Xavier Delryn, sends a letter via courier jet to the newly awakenng realm, sending his word of formal greetings*

Greetings King Dioneses,

Welcome from your isolation to the wonderful and dangerous world about you! We, the Crownguardian government, formally wish to announce our intentions to help you in any way with achieving the greatness you desire, save where it interferes with our interests, of course. We wish to offer to your nation any non-classified plans and materials at a very low fixed rate loan per year, as well as a gift of several design teams of our finest engineers. We hope within ten years to have your nation on a good footing with the rest of the countries of the world, and to take your rightful place as a fellow enlightened government. We ask only in return to open your markets on a favorable scale for our goods, so that we might both prosper in turn. If all this is satisfactory to you, please let me, Xavier Delryn, know so I may make your transition to the world stage as smooth and friendly as possible. We hope that your nation will cherish the tenants of honor, knowledge, and prosperity as does ours.

Honorably Yours,
Tercero Xavier Delryn

To Valnoria:

The Dominion offers aid in the modernization of Valnorian infrastructure. In return, we wish for the resources that Valnoria has to spare.

Wonders why Soviet Trasa bothered posting

"Welcome King Dioneses, I am Annilon of Arani. You seem to be an interesting, albeit small nation. We can aid you, for a price. Our dillema is that any aid we grant to you, would take away from the war effort against the unjust Derto/Blyclaaf alliance. The technology and information we give you must be paid for, are you willing to pay in blood? Will your no doubt brave warriors fight for the modernising of Valnoria? If you accept, we will aid you with whatever you desire which we can grant."

(ooc: Background information at: http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66248&highlight= , though your isolated nation may not know the whole story. Basically: Evil guy takes over Arani, Derto/Blyclaaf try get the old good guy back in power. Bad guy looking to recruit :D )

Dioneses sat upon his great oak desk, the stone floor adorned with furs of elk, wolf, bear, and many other local animals that were hunted by his Royal Guardsmen.

Using his new "pen" rather than the quill he was accustomed to, he began to write a return letter, to the nation that had offered him the most favorable of offers.

---------------
Translated from Valnorian.

"To the Honorable Xavier Delyrn,

I thank you wholeheartedly for seeming to be a face amongst a sea of backs. This new world is indeed strange to us, and it seems that after a return voyage, the technology, which far surpasses ours, captured the fancy and delight of my people.

We can no longer put a blind eye, or cold shoulder to this world, and I understand that there would have to be a mutual benefit if modernization were to take place.I find your terms quite favorable. And this team of "Engineers" would be invaluable for developing a new infrastructure.

It would also seem that I would need to implement a literacy system so that all Valnorians may be in the same stead as the rest of world.

Signed, King Dioneses."

To the Most Honorable King Dioneses,

Indeed, literacy is the first step towards knowledge. We welcome the opportunity to trade with you, and are delighted you have decided to agree to our terms. We thoroughly invite you and your retinue to attend a gala celebration in Gariland City, our capital. There, we will showcase our newest technological marvels, as well as give several gifts to return back to your lands. As for the problems of language, we will provide electronic translators until such a time as language needs can be met, or if you should prefer, we will teach your our language if you feel you wish to learn Crownguardian Neo-English for your people instead of Valnorian. Blue print plans are already being made for buildings, and the team of engineers has been sent by the fastest jets we have in service.

As stated, if given a few years, we will make your nation one to be admired, instead of scorned by the apathetic nations of the world. Until such a time as you are able to adequately defend yourselves from others wishing to perhaps invade you for your no doubt extensive resources, Crownguardian naval units will be dispatched to protect your seas from foreign encroachment (save our own of course). Please respond as soon as is expedient.

Honorably Yours,
Tercero Xavier Delryn
