Structure of your Communist/Socialist Government

Even though my nation is not under such, what is the typical structure for your communist nations?

In Russia you had the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee, the most powerful political group in the Communist Party, headed by the General Secretary of the Party. Then you had the Supreme Soviet (Council), with two legislative bodies, the Soviet of the Union, and the Soviet of the Nationalities. They elected the Presidium, formed Supreme Court, and appointed the Procurator General of the USSR. It appears that the Supreme Soviet was a rubber stamp for the Politburo, as well as the Central Committee.

In most communist countries, the primary power was in the hands of the Politburo, with some kind of Central Committee of the Party.

China works slightly differently. How does your nation work or how would you propose it should work?

Our country is socialist in the fact that the people hold all of the power. We do have an Emperor, and he makes the decisions to give the people what they want.

It's a weird system, but that's the way I chose to do it. Everybody in the nation is happy with the Emperor, and nobody wants to see him step down (although all of the Cavs have tried at one point or another, the people have "forced" him back into power).

our nation does not put any ideology, form of government, economic theory or system of belief ahead of the real effects of real policies on real people, places and things.

its structure is deliniated in the description given on our national website:

Beth Gellert

The People's Commonwealth of Beth Gellert idles along on the back of the bureaucratic monsters known to citizens as the Commonwealth Professional Civil Service and the People's Senate System.

All locales are granted an open public institution called a Local Senate. Here citizens may gather at any time of any day to discuss any issue, arranging as and when required massed meetings for all interested parties to debate specific issues of the day. Commonwealth Professional Civil Servants (often nominated at local senate meetings) keep the Local Senates open and operational at all times, and deal with their day to day administration.

After one of these massed meetings has reached a consensus of some manner a spokesman is democratically chosen from amongst those attending, and this ambassador carries the locale's concerns to his Regional Senate, where Local Senators from across the province gather as if attending an organised Local Senate meeting.

There after a regional ambassador is selected to carry his province's voice to the Final Senate at Portmeirion, the Commonwealth's capital.

As you can likely imagine it takes an age to get very much at all done here in Beth Gellert, but one is free to complain if he doesn't mind waiting a little for a reply..

There is no head of state, and there are no political parties. There do exist a number of Commonwealth Consuls who are generally former members of the CPCS. At time of writing the Commonwealth Chief Consul is one comrade Chivo, though some suspect the alliterative fad may fade any day now..

The CCC has no great powers, though he often chairs Final Senate meetings, and is generally considered to be selected for his exceptional even-handedness and effective international diplomatic skill.. by Beth Gellen standards, at least.

There are two houses to the Myrthan Parliament. There is the House of the Party, held by 105 unelected members of the Myrthan Communist Party and there is the House of the People, which is a body of 612 semi-elected individuals.
The House of the Party is the upper house, having the final say in all matters. It is lead by the Chairman.
The House of the People is lead by the Speaker.

By the way, this is RP and belongs in NationStates.

Under the former regime of then-Republic of Kryozerkia (now-Annexed States of Kryozerkia), our totalitarian regime was different. Our dictator was a socialist, and the position came through appointment, as well as all positions in our high courts. Ministers were appointed, but, backbenchers were elected.

Well, the Communist Party is elected in Galdania, and it is structured so that several different bodies of elected representitives, usually in groups of more than 200 people, are given power to make descions. The Premier is given very little power, and he does not even have a say in matters of war.
