Sitting in the chair in his room, niven leans back with his drink "is that all it is ? Just a woman from your past who has had some military issues ? Or is there more to this story ? "
Larkinia

"No, I don't think she'd try anything just because of that, I mean there's gotta be a stronger reason to put a gun barrel to someone's back in the middle of a party. And if the military gave her amnesty, well... I don't trust them.

"When she and the others went AWOL, she asked me to come with her. She'd valued personal relationships a lot, but not her's with the military. When I told her no, she felt betrayed, and the resulting court-marshall in abstentia didn't help matters any.

"She's always been a real wild card, I don't know what to expect from her. Maybe nothing, maybe someday I start my car and it blows up..."

"Jeff, car bombs are no joking matter. And why did you not tell anyone about her having a gun ? Have you spoen to the local authorities ? or even Katana ? Perhaps she is her illegaly. By the way, does this dangerous nymph have a name ?"

Jeff nodded to himself, "I know they aren't. I know.

"I never even really saw her face tonight, just felt the outline of the gun barrel against my back. And I couldn't have the guards stop every woman in a silver dress that I caught a glimpse of.

"Then I guess I got caught up in the other events tonight. With former President Yarrum and his.. female friend showing up and then him passing out. I haven't spoken with Katana or the police yet. I know I need to, but the last thing Katherine needs is some other adventure starting.

"Her name? It's Dariana Narina," Jeff said getting a visual of her in his mind. "She's taller for a woman, blonde, green eyes..."

Jeff described a woman who seemed very much like the one that picked up Dari that night.

"That description sounds somehow familiar. The young lady that I introduced you to tonight, her room mate picked her up...she said her name was....let me see...yes, Jessica Smith. I suppose that she could have given Dari her dress and then come back to pick her up. Perhaps to mess with your head ? Well at least she does not know about your...ahem...enhancements. Even if she does try something that could give her a bit of a suprise."

"I think that telling Katherine might be a good idea, but perhaps you should wait until she is well rested before you spring this on her. Perhaps over breakfast and a new diamond."
Larkinia

"Yeah, and if she were going to do anything, she's had plenty of time, and opportunities to do it. Maybe I'm just still a little jumpy.

"You're right, I should tell Katherine. And maybe a new diamond necklace will help her to realize how important she is to me. Things have been really rough on her dad, I feel like I've neglected her...

"And speaking of those women in our lives, what's really between you and Major Fowler? Other than a.. um.. no space. .."

"Fowler...I think that your old man may have found a woman that he can settle down with, a bit. I don't know how the age difference will effect the relationship, but we shall see.."

"Diamonds always help with bad news...a spoonfull of suger and all. I think that the nicest thing you could do for her, however, would be to take a vaction from being a hero. Take a month or so, and go to a place where no one will try to kill you. Have you even been to the beach house I gave you in Celeborne ? I can have my private army lock the area down so tight that no one could get through. I also own an island or two that you would be welcome to go to, and I can garuntee that you would be safe."

"Don't stop being jumpy just yet, few people will put a gun to your back just for fun...."

"Remember dad, age really isn't all that important, it's how you feel around each other that matters. Besides, you need to enjoy yourself, let your hair down and relax.

"No, Katherine and I haven't been to that beach house since... well.. not yet. Maybe that's where we'll go. We can pick up the boat from Iansisle, and leisurely cruise to the beach house and relax. And a guarantee of us being safe is probably just what the doctor ordered, so to say.

"And if Dariana shoots me, then she shoots me and that's that. I'm not going to be worried for the rest of my life. I think I'm gonna go crash, it's been a long week and I'm looking forward to getting a couple hours of sleep before Conner starts crying to be rocked. G'night dad, thanks for everthing you've done..."

" Thanks for the love advice." He says with a small laugh. " I will keep that in mind."

"The house is yours whenever you want. If you let me know before hand I will have it stocked and ready for you, not to mention that I will have some guards, say a couple of thousand, placed around the area." Laughing again.

"Get some sleep, son and let me know if you have any more trouble."

(OOC: and I will be gone again for the next two days.))

In the next Morning's Golden Agate Post...

Mass Chaos in Downtown Golden Agate

In the early evening after the trial of Captain Jeffrey Willims ended, chaos erupted in the streets of downtown Golden Agate. Groups of men in varied archaic uniforms were seen carousing and drinking throughout the night.

Club owners, dancers, ladies of the night and bartenders report they haven't seen this kind of one-night increase in profits in years, since the end of the first democratic vote in Larkinia.

At one point, riot police had to be mobilized after a report of a group of sailors entering a transvestite house of ill-repute. Upon finding out what kind of establishment they were in, the sailors allegedly started attacking the staff, including several of the house 'workers'. Seven marines were arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct at the house, and four of the employees, including one Brian 'Butch Mama' Sessions were hospitalized for injuries.

Reports of incidents are still coming in and this report will be updated as needed....

(heh, my guys must have gotten really wasted ;). That makes me glad I decided to spare Richard the agony...though he's really more of a sad drunk than a boisterous one.)

Lance Corporal Jacob Masterton lay back on his thin cell mattress massaging an aching head. "Ai. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea."

His cell mate, who it was too painful to identify, merely whispered "shut up!" horsely back and wondered how they'd be getting out of this one.

(Yeah, besides he's gonna have one hell of a headache when he wakes up in the morning.)

The detention guards banged on the cell door with a nightstick, "Wake up sunshines. You boys have to go before the judge in a couple of hours."

Masterton groaned and rolled over, right off the cot. "God damn it!" he exclaimed on hitting the floor, but the yelling just made his head hurt more. Instead he tried to stand up, but that hurt too. He settled for lying on the ground, which smelled faintly of vomit. His cellmate didn't even make the effort.

(Wow... deja vu...)

The detention guards came by a little later with some breakfast for the detainees. Eggs, bacon, some pancakes and coffee... (yeah, they got orders from higher up to treat them well. ;) )

By that time, Masterton had managed to raise himself to the cot in a semi-sitting position, and he looked with hungry eyes on the food brought before him. "Top-notch service," he commented quietly.

"Shut up," came the typical response.
