New Decree Issued on December 30, 2003
In order to maintain security within the world and our great nation, Queen Kei I has issued the Decree of Elandor. It is henceforth understood that Her Majesty has signed this decree and made all under its authority binding. The Queen has made an official statement:
To my fellow Penguinatans and to the world in general, I have a very important announcement to make. Today Isla de Penguinata will finally have its place in a new world. A world in which the races will live in harmony and peace. I am here to tell you that I, Kei Cho, am of Elvish descent. My fiancee, Jake McDermont, is also. In fact, I have ordered my aides to research the genealogical data of all Penguinatans over the past few months. I have discovered that 80% of you are of Elvish descent.
I understand that this will shock many of you. I was surprised myself when I discovered it last year. However, I have embraced my Elvish descent, and I have been told by an elf that the embracement of my ancestry shall lead me to become a half-elf. My children will be fully elven, as were our ancient ancestors.
Myself and Jake have taken the liberty of changing our names in honor of our ancestry. I, Kei Cho, am now Arvanel I. My fiancee, Jake McDermont, is now Thaseldan I. Together we will return Isla de Penguinata to what it should be.
The Laniia Kingdom of Isla de Penguinata shall prosper from this day forward. Our military forces are being recalled home, and that means all of them. They will regroup, and I will restore order to this forsaken nation. Already I have begun preparations for a great move, to a new island in the mid-Atlantic.
Our new capital shall be Elandor. The new island, which will be as large as the continental United States, is lush and green, with snowfall in the Colarien Mountains. I am proud to say that this new land will be a home to a nation of elves. A nation reborn and renewed. Goodwill to all, and thank you.
