Out of the Misty Moutains come...(open RP, if your sane.)

thousands of Goblins, sprinting towards an elven palisade outpost containing 94 Elves and 15 Dwarves part of the Allied States of the River Anduin, a newly formed alliance of kingdoms and various groups along the River Anduin. As the brave souls in the small encampment go to defensive stations along the palisade wall, soaking wet with the rain coming from blackened skies, a soul-shattering wail comes from the Goblins as they come in on their final approach...

Lorinfiendel, a wood-elf, quickly prepares his bow along with a solid line of his heavily, but flexibly, armoured allies, some half-elf, others great-elf, but all elf, and all with a great knack for combat, though some of his comrades have known to die from grief while fighting, not a score or slash on them. They aim their shot, are called to prepare to fire, and then are ordered to fire, and in a great volley, almost a hundred precisely aimed arrows slice into the front line of the vile goblins charging at them...

As ladders begin raising up the walls, the dwarves spring into action, hacking heads, and pushing ladders, and soon, the goblins can almost get up to the top of the wall by climbing over dead comrades. Hundreds of them lay dead, and the casualties in the outpost are rising.
The commander of the outpost, Nomineor Salimdrin, is worried they wont hold out for the 2 days it will take for the next shipment of troops to come to the outpost which will save them. He thanks the dwarves engnuity(sp?) for connecting all these outposts along the Misty Mountains with tunnels spanning dozens of miles, otherwise, they would never have been able to recieve 30 extra Elves and 10 more dwarves, and silently hopes for the sun to shine through the sad din of rain on their tents.

Dawn the next morning, it was still dark, still pouring rain, and still volleys of arrows split through the goblins. now, at the gate, there appeared a large group of goblins, with a huge capped ram in their quavering hands, with their command calling 'HEAVE!' and then the ram fell backwards, at least ten feet, by the reckoning of keen elven eyes. Then a great 'HO!' was bellowed from the command. the ram hit the solid oak gate, splintering it all over, all the time the ram crew getting slaughtered by well aimed shot from only 25 elven bows out of 50 that could be concentrated from the main danger; hundreds of goblins scrambling up mounds of their own people...

thanks. now back to my charecter...

after suffering numerous wounds to his right arm and legs, Lorinfiendel ran out of the healing tent to get to the palisades. that very moment, the gate burst and splinters went flying everywhere, impaling his close friend, next to him, Andiamen, throught the throat. goblins came flooding through, and the men on the palisades retreated to the wall infront of the door leading to the tunnels, carved out of pure stone from the mountain, unquarried. they quickly ran up to the walls and protected their slower dwarven friends from attack by goblins, struggling to get to the gate alone, fighting their way there nonetheless.

'HEAVE!' *pause* 'HO!' *slam*

Alaric Morningstar raised his hand, as he listened to the sounds in the distance, and the small band of rangers behind him stopped.

"Looks like we have trouble ahead."

He crept forward and looked at what was ahead of the band. "Goblins, moving in on the outpost," he told one of the men next to him.

"So much for a peaceful visit," he muttered back.

"Get the men ready," Alaric said as he picked up his bow and reached back for an arrow as the rest of the band moved forward doing the same. He raised the bow and the band fired arrows up to rain down on the goblins.

as the elves fought to defend the wall, a hail of arrows came from the south, splitting into goblins everywhere, and as always, the keen eye of elves always catch the small details, many elves recognized the arrows of ranger-make. many cheered in a great, but burdened, 'Huzzah!', and quickly went back to hand to hand combat(they have now run out of arrows, and have jumped down the wall to fight their way out.) beutifully crafted elven blades sunk deep into abdomens of the vile goblins almost every swing an elf took. there seemed to be an impossible number of the evil things, but the commander, on top of the wall, looked to the north and saw a shimmer of sunlight around the territorial walls of a stronghold at the edge of the alliance's territory. though the fortress was at least 3 days ride away(the outpost is on a high platau, against the mountain wall) he hoped that someone at the fort had noticed the many fires and faint *cling* of swords coming from the outpost, but no such luck. He had recently recieved news that instead of the extra elves and dwarves, maybe 15 humans could come to the outpost becuase this was a very organized attack by the goblins, falling upon outposts all along the mountain chain, though none as of yet had fallen.

The great Uruk shook his shaggy head in disgust as the cowardly goblin maggots fell back after suffering only eighty percent casulities. Raising his massive sword overhead, he bellowed to the waiting ranks of warg-riders "Second wave, CHARGE!" Over threehundred strong, the giant lupines lept up the slope towards the now breached outpost gate. The Uruk-hai troops in the third rank waited impaitently. The emerging sun did not dismay them, and they were eagerly looking forward to the carnage ahead.

A joint hunting party, comprised of many Argonian Elder Families watched the battle, some more concerned than others.

"The puny goblins and weakling orcs attack the elves with furry beasts of war. This is indeed entertaining." Stated Bone-Breaker, a Morkath warrior, resting his massive sword on his right shoulder.

"I agree. No orc is a match for a House Kath warrior." Agreed Sekrit, a Kath Family knife-fighter.

The leader, Lutkris AKA 'Sleepy', of the Destreth family, watched with his usual detatched gaze.

"Send Fleetfoot to the camp, the Quickclaw will want to know of this."

With those simple words, a swift-footed runner was dispatched to rally warriors from a far-off camp of the Family Quickclaw. Joint hunting parties where not to engage in combat. The loss of a warrior from an opposing house while under command of another house generated too much fuel for political fires, which already burned with too much intensity.

As the fierce wargs charged up behind them, the remaining goblins, still nearly a thousand, were forced to resume the battle. Either that or be eaten alive by thier own calvary.
"Pisbur, sir" a cringing scout orc gasped, dashing up to the massive Uruk captian.
"Don't 'sir' me maggot" The great orc snarled. "Well, don't stand there wetting yerself. Report!"
"A large unidentified armed party, not elves or dwarves, has approached our flanking outriders." the smaller orc replied promptly "They make no agressive moves at this time, but seem to be observing the battle with interest."
"Leave them alone for now, but watch them closely. We may want to offer a share in the battle and the spoils if they show no love for the stinking point ears."
The captian then turned to watch the battle's progress, as the scout raced off to relay his orders.

Many hours later a party of fifteen of the House of Quickclaw's finest warriors arrived, most bearing no weapons in the conventional sense. The Quickclaw where famous for their creation of the Infinite Mystical claw style of martial art, suited for Argonian anatomy. If needed, a party of Morkath warriors would arrive. The Morkath where massive specimens, powerfully built and tall. Wielding large, broad-bladed swords known as Dragon's Teeth, they fought in the style of the Prowling Dragon. The Morkath where brutal opponents, ignoring wounds to deliver a single punishing blow.

The leader of the Quickclaw, known as Swiftclaw, observed the battle as Sleepy had before him, studying the tactics of the orcs and elves. If there came reason for himself and his warparty to enter the fray, they would do so. The Quickclaw where not as aggressive as their rivals, the House of Kath and the House of Morkath.

(this is at yet another outpost, where similar tactics are being employed by the forces of orcs and goblins)

as an elf loosed an arrow into the skull of a Goblin, splitting it like a peeled orange, warg riders smashed into the elven formations, though already dead tired and many seeing the carnage of close friends nearby drop dead in a flurry of sorrowfull emotion. though many elves were still upon the walls, they had enough men to spare to fight in the open, and was quickly beating back the goblin hordes and hundreds of orcs...

(back to the more desperate fight)

a small band of human warriors burst out of the dwarven tunnels leading to the besieged outpost. all they saw in front of them was an empty wall and an untouched gate. they decided to see what all the noise was about by going up to the top of the wall. there they saw one of the most heroic sites ever witnissed by them. thousands of Orcs, goblins, and Warg riders were fighting hand to hand with a small number of elves(aprox. 25) and only 4 dwarves. they all broke out in a cold, unrelenting, sweat, and forced themselves to wipe out their fear like they did the many beads of sweat upon their dirty faces, and charged over the wall, down a mount of goblins, and into the lethal fray, hacking and slicing to get to their fellow Anduinians...

"Quickly! Remaining arrows into the wargs!" he said turning his bow towards the calvary.

The rangers fired into the wargs as their arrows dwindled.

"How many horses do we have? We need to intercept the remaining forces!"

Swiftclaw narrowed his reptillian eyes in concern.

"The softskins fall before the might of the orcish horde..."

The warrior clenched his fists in anger at what he was about to do.

"To death and honor!"

With those simple words, the Argonian warcry, the warparty charged down the hills, their individual kiai's blending into one of epic size. The small force hit the rear of the orcish horde like a battering ram, the warriors tearing into their foes' flesh with the short claws that tipped their fingers, and lashing out with their powerful legs and large reptillan feet.

On a whim, Shea and her small flight of death angels had decided to take a leisure flight over a green land they had not yet explored. Closing her eyes, she breathed deep of the clean fresh air, and one very specific smell caught her attention. Drawn by the scent of blood, Shea led her flight over a battle where all manner of creatures were fighting. There were elves, dwarves, humans, and a few others she could not readily identify, and they seemed to be struggling against the orcs and goblins. Shea hated elves, but she hated orcs even more, and never missed an oppotunity to slaughter them.

"Up for a fight, boys?"

With sadistic smiles, the small band of 8 black-winged angels dove on the orcs, slashing at them with nothing but talon and fang.
02-01-2004, 21:24
As a wave of black winged creatures dove from the sky, many men, elves, and dwarves were caught, surrounded, trying to fight off a massive horde in a defensive circle around their wounded commander. They could see the shining steel banner posts of the large army of several hundred Noble Anduinians, and fought off blades, axes, and spears while watching clawed creatures slash into the orcs and goblins. there almost seemed an infinite amount of the evil creatures surrounding them slashing at them and trying to slaughter them all. as the Army of Anduin approached, the knights at the front let loose their horses and smashed into a thick line of Warg riders. limbs and pieces of flesh and armor flew everywhere as the lines met, making a thunderous bellow of armor smashing into armor. the screeches and barks of the beasts on either side were heard throughout the area, and soon a thick hail of arrows flew into the orcs and goblins everywhere, thanks to the woodelve's quick unleashment of such an uncannily accurate sort of bombardment...

Silk rode through the trees on horseback, her black outfit torn and stained dark red in several places. With a pull of the reins, she stopped the horse and cocked her head. The sound of a distant battle? She listened for a moment longer and stirred the horse in a new direction.

After several minutes of traveling, she crested a hill that overlooked the battle far away. Squinting, she wished that she still had her lenses. Binocular vision would be nice. No matter, though. This was not her battle. She had already slain her prey and collected the bounty for its head. No need to get involved in this fight. Especially when the risks are so great and the rewards little.

She turned the horse around again, turning her back to the bloody scene far below. As the horse began to move, she heard a growl and, instinctively, she pulled the katana sheathed on her back, bring it out just in time to block a hatchet thrown at her. The small axe went spinning into the ground as several goblins came out of hiding behind some trees.

Great. Scouting parties. What I wouldn't give for my rifle right about now...

Shea and her flight were careful to dodge the volley of arrows which slammed into the vile creatures all around them. Grinning, they continued quick flights low over the orcs, slashing at every target that presented itself. Fury, Shea's second-in-command called a few of the angels to follow him. His group would focus on the warg-riders, as they seemed the greatest threat at this point. Besides, if the knights were not tied up here, they could be more useful against the ground troops.

Diving quickly, Fury landed behind one of the riders and sunk his talons into the orc's head and shoulder. He twisted its neck violently and tossed it aside. Clinging to the mount, he slashed at its throat until he felt blood. He then lept up to seek his next target.

Silk jammed her feet into the sides of the horse and it took off right at one of the goblins. The vile creature sidestepped to keep from getting run over and the woman took the opening to take a swipe. It tried to block, but being off-balance as is, was unable to and the katana slashed across its chest.

She turned the horse sharply around to face the remaining two goblins, just in time to see another hatchet flying at her. This one she was unable to block and it cut deeply into the neck of the horse. The animal let out a cry of pain as it fell to its side, trapping the rider.

Silk gritted her teeth from the pain that shot up her crushed leg. She tried pushing the horse off of her, but the two goblins were closing in fast.

High above the battle a flight of Drake Knights were on a scouting mission when their mounts began to act strangely.
“What’s the matter boy?” Lorgan asked his mount, patting it on the head gently.
“Death….Orcs….and men……. and Elves.” came usual broken supply of his mount.
“Battle……..” Lorgan spoke to himself.
Then much louder “Flying Drowgs, Prepare for battle!”
All around him came the sound of twenty riders latching themselves to the saddles of the drakes. Lorgan’s second in command wings over to him.
Whispering in his ear, “Who is it my Lord?”
“Orcs,” came Lorgan’s reply,” Drowgs Desend!”
In unison twenty blood red shapes dip their left wings and drop down out of the skies above the battle.

Fury dropped from the sky and crouched between Silk and the goblins. His wings were spread low, ready for action and he bared his fangs and talons fiercly.

"Need some help?" he asked the woman over his shoulder before growling a warning at the goblins.

The goblins paused with this unexpected turn of events, and one accepted the death angel's challenge. It lept forward and slashed at Fury with its axe. Fury shifted and raked his talons up the creatures chest and slashed through its neck, as the axe sliced along his forearm. He turned to the other goblin and snarled, daring it to come forward.

Back at the battle scene, Shea glanced up as more flying creatures approached. Anything with wings was an ally as far as she was concerned. At least until it attacked her. They were not close enough yet to determine anything about them, however. She darted sideways as an orc thrust a sword up at her and growled in irritation. She grabbed the wrist and slashed through the forearm. Pulling the sword and hand free, she threw it at another orc, the blade pinning it to the ground by the shoulder.

Shea spotted the elven commander near the center of the fray. She left her flight to their tasks of killing the orcs and warg-riders, and wheeled around to help those creatures she hated only slightly less.

I'm not helping elves, she convinced herself. I'm killing orcs.

That established, she circled the band of elves, humans and dwarves as they defended the wounded commander and picked off orcs one by one.
03-01-2004, 02:01
"Second and Third flights strafe the flanks, Fourth I want you boys down the center clearing a path, burn everything. First flight on me, we have business else where." Lorgan ordered his men.
There was a breif moment as the flight leaders relayed their orders. Then in unison Second and Third flights split off from the main group and winged to gain strafeing speed. After a short interval Fourth Flight broke and dove for the center of the Orcish army, leaving Lorgan flying to where the Angels were circling.

Shea glanced up as one of the flying creatures seemed hell-bent on engaging her. She finished her work on a few nearby orcs before gaining slight altitude for some maneuvering room, should it become necessary. She turned to face the creature and waited, breifly scanning the battle grounds to be sure her flight was doing well. Where was Fury?

((OOC: Shea is the only one circling...the others are scattered about everywhere.))

In the woods to the north, a band of Human and elven rangers await the words of their scout. Moments after he breaks out of the woods, he comes sprinting back. "Orcs and Goblins!" he shouts, "Thousands of them". Nas'terune, elven ranger, and the leader of the group, calls his two second in commands over. "I know this was supposed to be a routine patrol, but the Anduin forces need our help. And we shall not stand idly by as they are slaughtered. You, Raineah(a human swordmaster) , take a group of 40 archers and 20 cavalry to the east. Shri'an, take your group of winged archers and spearmen (mounted on eagles, but of course) and attack from above at my signal. Get above the clouds so they dont see you coming. The main group shall go with me, straight in."

And so a sight rare to the world, the famed BladeRiders of Kash'niar, formed up, with their archers in front. All told they numbered less than 200 men. And so they advanced, the BladeRiders cresting the hill top, and the archers hanging slightly behind. Nas'terune's voice rings out over the battle, kindling hope in the hearts of the weary defenders.

There are 60(20 horse and 40 archers) men in the eastern wargroup. There are 60 horses and 100 archers in the main group. The Windriders number 25 spears and 40 bows.

Silk struggled out from under her fallen horse with the diversion that Fury provided. With a final yank, she was free of the riding beast. Grimacing in pain, she pushed herself back onto her feet.

Something must be twisted in that leg. Hopefully not broken.

The winged creature killed one of the goblins and faced off with the last. Without a second to waste, Silk took the opportunity to grab her combat knife, hold it by the blade, and launch it at the goblin. The knife sank into the goblin's neck, drawing forth black blood. The goblin grabbed at its throat before collapsing into a writhing heap on the ground.

"My thanks," Silk said to Fury as she limped forward to finish off the suffocating goblin with her katana.

The archers begin loosing volleys into the mass of orcs, wargs, and goblins. Most of the archers were elves with hundreds of years of training. Most had built their own bows, made their own arrows, and knew their weapons like a lover. Most of their arrows didnt miss. Within a minute a thousand well-aimed arrows were in the air. Moments later, the BladeRiders charged. The first ranks fell to their long bladed spears which were discarded moments later. As one the mounts reared, and the riders drew forth a twin pair of blades each. The curved blades screamed forth from their sheaths, and with that sound the Windriders came. Diving forth from the clouds the Spear riders dropped canisters of unlight greek fire. The archers fired flaming arrors.

"The name is Silk," she said. Yes. Talking would help. "And I always repay my debts."
03-01-2004, 03:41
"Fury," he replied. "Pleasure to make your aquaintence, m'lady."

He dove suddenly for the sole reason of trying to rattle her, and tipped his wings before regaining a steady flight.

Silk tensed up, drawing in a deep breath, then glared at Fury out of the corner of her eyes. Looking down, she pointed in the general direction of a riderless horse that had wandered away from the battle. "There."

She glanced over at the other flying creatures in the air and was anxious to get down, but again kept her exterior as calm as possible.
03-01-2004, 03:56
"That will work."

He dipped his left wing, and wheeled in his decent towards the gelding.

"It will shy when it sees me, so we'll have to land a little ways away. Maybe over there," he suggested, indicating a dense treeline moderately near the animal. "Keep your eyes on him for me."

"I'll try my luck down here," Silk said with smile of thanks. Flying around in an insecure position over a warring field was not exactly on the top of her to-do list.

She looked at the battlescene. The goblins and orcs were doing rather poorly against the inferior numbers of the humans and their allies. That would hopefully keep them occupied and away from where she was. "Looks like a few of those knights have fallen," she told Fury. "I'll just wait until their horses wander close enough."
03-01-2004, 04:17
"Personally, I think you're more prone to a stray arrow or the random migrations of battle down here. Up in the air, there are only allies, and it is easy to stay out of range. But it's your choice."

He walked out into the clearing and prepped his wings for flight.

Silk let loose a loud sigh. One did not survive in a life of battle by being obstinate. "Fine. Fine. Let's find another one quick."
03-01-2004, 04:34
Fury smired to himself. Ah, manipulation was fun. He returned and scooped her up in his arms and took to the air.

"Alright now...keep your eyes open." He wheeled over the battlefield, scouring the ground for a suitable mount. "How about that o-...oh. Nope, he's done. Hmm.."

Another angel sped by and wheeled acrobatically, returning to glide next to his commander. "This was meant for you, Fury," he expained, holding out a flaming arrow where Fury could see it. "Ooohh...what have you got there?" he asked, eyeing Silk.

"Thank you, Aeris." Fury took the arrow and launched it towards the ground. "This is Silk. We're trying to find her a horse."

*Elsewhere on the battle feild*
Scrant juked his mount to the left narrowly dodging a volley of arrows.
"OpenFire!" he bellowed. Angling his mount down and across the goblin flank. Touching his beast in a pit on the back of hits head cuasing a thick, round column of flame to burst out of his and several other drakes throats searing great paths of flamming destruction into the Goblin horde. As he wheeled around for another pass an arrow clipped his mounts right wing, sending both creature and rider crashing down near the elven outpost.

"I don't suppose I've very many options, huh?" Silk asked, not really expecting much of a reply.

Pulling up along side the Angel's leader "We need to get to that rider! Can you help us out?"

"What exactly do you need?" questioned Shea as her talons rended an orcish throat to pieces.

-------------------------

Fury jerked sideways suddenly as an orc grabbed hold of his right wing. Twisting his body, he kicked the vile creature in the face. With his wing released, he increased speed and chased after the horse. At the edge of the fighting, another orc stabbed upward and cut into his left wing. Crying out in pain, Fury crashed into the ground a few meters from the fighting and skidded a few feet. He lost hold of Silk a few feet before he hit the ground.

With a gasp, the woman went tumbling into the ground. Rolling to lessen the impact, Silk swiftly got back onto her feet, favoring the injured left one, and her katana was immediately in her hands. She backed away toward the fallen death angel, slicing at an orc that got too close. "Are you alright?" she asked Fury.
03-01-2004, 06:36
Fury did not immediately respond. The injured wing was folded beneath his body at an odd angle. After a few still moment, he groaned and pushed himself up.

"I'll live.."

Carefully extracting his wing, he was pleased to discover that the sword cut was the only injury there. Frowning, he fingered a few of the blood-soaked feathers. His attention was distracted by motion, as he looked up to discover the horse not too far off.

"Found your ride," he informed with a grin.
Rhinara
03-01-2004, 06:50
Silk glanced over at the horse. Her escape from this chaos. Then she looked over at the death angel and his wing.

Probably won't be flying any time soon. But he'll be fine. A bent wing won't incapacitate him, right? He can still handle himself against the orcs and goblins...

An orc broke away from the main group and charged at her, his sword held slightly back in preparation to swing forward. She waited until he got closer, then sidestepped and parried the orc's swing, pushing his sword toward the ground. Both turned to reengage the other, but Silk was faster and an orcish head went flying.

Looking back at Fury, she simply said, "You're hurt. You need help."
03-01-2004, 06:52
"I'm fine," he insisted, forcing himself to his feet with a grimace. "Let's get that beast of yours..."
Rhinara
03-01-2004, 06:58
Silk shrugged.

If he says he's fine, then he must be fine. Who am I to argue?

She moved toward the horse, hoping that it would not run away, yet walking slow enough to not startle it too much and to keep a wary eye out for more dangers.

Better not be another of those flying riders and their eagles about...

Her hand snatched out and grabbed onto the reins of the horse.

Success!

OOC: This thread has jumped considerably.

IC:

Swiftclaw tore the throat off of his goblin opponent. It was his fifth kill of the hour. Looking around him, his fifteen companions had achieved similar results. Again, he was charged by a goblin. As the creature approached, Swiftclaw grabbed him roughly by the shoulders, driving his short claws in deeply, and rolled backwards. The kick he delivered at close range propelled the goblin towards another of his war party, who leaped towards the hapeless beast and delivered a punishing knee to the spine. The fifteen warriors worked in tandem, focusing their efforts on individual groups and eliminating them with practiced ruthlessness and efficency.

The warparty was a fearsome sight: Fifteen Argonian warriors in their prime, covered in the black blood of their enemies, some with blood streaming from their mouths after biting an opponent. Several had suffered injury, but nothing that would keep them from battle...
03-01-2004, 07:14
"You need a leg up, or can you ground mount?" he asked as he approached the horse.

"What a pretty mare you are," he soothed queitly, laying a bloodied hand along the wide flare on the mare's nose. "Much better than that gelding. Geldings get eaten. ...hope you don't act like a mare..." Fury closed his eyes and rested his forehead on the mare's forehead as he talked to it, his wings drooping slightly.

"I can manage," Silk answered and sheathed her sword. Grabbing the saddle in one hand and lifting one foot onto the stirrup, she pulled herself up and swung the injured leg (which complained by sending more pain through her nerves) over onto the other side.

"I'll remember your aid," she promised as she gripped the reins and nudged the horse away from the battle.
03-01-2004, 07:40
Fury seemed to be leaning against the horse, his body following as she backed, and he finally fell as the horse turned away. He made no move to catch himself. Apparantly, the fall had taken more of a toll than either of them realized.

Another orc and several goblins moved in, and Silk was too busy paying attention to the new arrivals to notice Fury's condition. Her blade once again slid out from its sheath on her back as the enemy charged. The katana slashed back and forth from her left to her right, and her uninjured leg kicked out to send a goblin which the sword could not reach in time sprawling.
03-01-2004, 07:57
Aeris had seen Fury disappear in the area a few minutes prior. Now, he flew in to inform him that he had found a horse, and left it tied at the other end of the field. Approaching, he saw Fury on the ground before Silk, and he was bleeding. Aeris was infamous for jumping to conclusions. Flying in swiftly, he took out the remaining goblin and landed, turning menacingly to Silk.

Orcs blood sprayed all over Scrant as he severed an orcs head from its shoulders. Standing next to his dead mount, Scrant no he wouldn't last long if help didn't come soon. A hatchet flew by him burying into the dead drake. He turned to see three orcs charging him. He parried a blow to his head, knocking the orcs back with his other fist and with a downward motion split another one across the midsection spill yet more blood all over him.
"Dang, this stuff will never get out, it's my best suit!" he yelled into the fray. Blocking another blade to his side, he side-stepped in and rammed his blade into the orcs belly. As he pulled the blade out a sharp pain sprang up from his side. Looking down he discovered an orc blade sunk into his flesh. Scrant yanked the blade out and severed the owner's head from its shoulders.

Glancing to his fallen comrade, he decided that maybe the girl was telling the truth, and that maybe she didn't do this to him. Warily, he approached Fury and examined him, keeping one eye on Silk.

"Still having problems stay airborne? Thought you over came that problem." He jokingly stated.
"Old habits die hard my friend.......mmph" Scrant replied clutching his side,"Lorgan behind you"
Lorgan turned around and dodged to the left, avoiding an orcish blade. Drawing his sword he fended off another attack, and with a reverse swing down and to the left he split the creatue in two.
"Come, my old friend our ride awaits." Turning to find his own mount surrounded by orcs.
"Looks like we will have to do this the hard way." he luaghed and charged right into the orcish bodies.
03-01-2004, 19:32
Shea grabbed hold of the wounded man, pumping her wings to lift him high above the orcs. Another angel, Syphis, grabbed hold of Lorgan and lifted him as well as the four remaining fought to drive the orcs back from Lorgan's mount.

"Call your beast!" she yelled down to Lorgan. "We can't fend them off while you try to fight your way there."

With that he turned his beast and winged toward the angel that held Scrant.
"Scrant are you still alive there my old friend." he inquired.

Carefully rolling Fury onto his back, he checked his collarbone and ribs, frowning as he found an abnormality along his left ribs.

Swiftclaw propelled himself into the air with his powerful legs, raking the face of an orc with his claws before slamming a powerful swivel-kick into its head. The orcs neck snapped with a wet pop as the reptillian foot made contact. For dramatic effect, Swiftclaw tore out the beast's heart, crushing it in his right hand. It was then that an orcish blade struck him in the lower left side, knocking him over. One of is warriors was quickly apon the attacker, nearly tearing the orc's head off in an attempt to break its neck.

Swiftclaw knew the injury had wrecked his kidney and that portion of his intestines... it would be fatal eventually. Blood gushed from the wound, mixing with the black blood of his orcish victims.

"Makaal beckons to me, Marsh-brothers. I must go to him..."

With a look of grim anger in his eyes, the warparty leader hauled himself from the ground, screaming a mighty kiai as he charged into several of the larger orcs, his limbs moving with great speed, orc blood filling the air. A poorly-made axe buried itself deeply in his chest, bringing him to the ground. Swiftclaw's claws ripped into the connecting tissue of his attacker's arm, pulling the orc closer to him. The warrior sank his teeth into the orc's neck, black blood poring across his eyes, adding to the darkness that took him as the strength in his body faded. Swiftclaw died with his enemy, an honorable death for an honorable warrior.

The remaining ten fought with renewed strength, but where beginning to be overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of foes. At this time, a single warrior charged down from the hills. He was a massive specimen, standing an inch taller than the tallest of the gathered urik-hai. In his massive clawed hands was a sword of immense proportions, with a flat blade as wide as a man's head. The warrior named Bone-Breaker had returned, his bloodlust running high. The massive Argonian collided with the orcish horde like a bullet, his sword sending a small orc flying. The return stroke cut a goblin cleanly in two. His forked tongue lapped at the bloody blade, an extreme insult in Argonian culture. With a mighty roar, he charged, his blade cleaving a wide swath of destruction with each stroke.

"He'll be fine with us," Shea stated bluntly.
Grabbing Fury by the arm, she helped him to his feet.
"He's certainly been through worse."

Fury flashed Silk a groggy smile. "You can repay me some other time."

-----------------------------------

Elsewhere, Syphis rose from a bloody dive with pieces of the vile creatures falling from his fingers. Nearby, he saw the new Argonian slam into the throng of urik-hai. Whistling silently to himself, he was highly impressed by the sheer power of this reptilian beast. Smiling, he dove again, talons extended to tear into their next mark.

Silk jerked one shoulder up in a shrug. "Okay." She got back onto her new horse and started away from the fighting.

"Payment?" Shea questioned with a very specific look.
"Services rendered," Fury replied, and quickly wished he hadn't as Shea's gaze turned his blood to ice.
Aeris merely stifled a laugh and took hold of Fury's right arm. Shea did the same with his left. Together, they took to the air with a semi-conscious Fury in tow. The issue now would be finding a safe place to keep him until they were finished with this battle.

As James(Hey Look a normalname  ) passed over the orchish horde for a low pass. There was a moment of searing pain in his right shoulder, looking down he discovered a long, slim Uruk arrow protruding out of his shoulder. Suddenly his side burst into immense as a nother arrow flew into him. This one cuased him to lose control and crash into the midst of the orchish horde. Struggling to get out of his harness James felt two more arrows slam into his body. Belowing in rage he charged at the nearest orc archer taking three more arrows before falling down dead only to have his body befouled by the nearest Uruk-Hai warrior.

And without further adieu, Silk disappeared into the forest.
