OOC: New RP Idea
OOC:
I have a new RP idea. It is called the Sands of Change. It is a two part RP. The first half takes place two thousand years ago when Nanakaland didn't exist, but in its place was the Nanakan Empire. The Nanakan Empire has been ruled by a dynasty of elven warrior kings. The first half of the RP is on the last elven warrior king to rule the Nanakan Empire. He fights a stalemate war in the middle of the desert against a (preferably orcish) nation.
The first half of the RP is the actual war and the eventual overthrow of the elven dynasty. The actual war is a stalemate, but the new rulers forget the war and leave the rival alone. The Nanakan Empire then collapses due to no strong ruler.
The second half of the RP is 2000 years later, in modern Nanakaland. The overthrown elven king (I haven't come up with a name yet) is living in the border wastelands when he suddenly has an idea. He decides to lead an elvish uprising to restore the Nanakan Empire to its old glory. Basically, it is a Nanakan civil war against the crazed former elven warrior king. The elven rebellion leader then leaves Nanakaland after a big loss in a battle and escapes to the Nanakaland Moon Colony, waiting to attack again.
Feedback? Remember, this is a rough idea.

OOC: It'll be pretty much unworkable since everyone will automatically support the elf guy who also won't be allowed to be crazy. Elves don't go crazy don'tcherknow

Sounds cool.

Any living creature would go crazy if it was overthrown and then living in wastelands for 2000 years. No one would support the elf guy because he is crazy.

I'll join, possibly as a realistic general under your king or something. You can kill my character for infuriating you in the RP, if you want.

You misuderstood the rollyetes smile. I was trying to say that a bunch of elf supporters will charge in declaring that elves don't go crazy quoting page numbers from the Simarillion and LOTR forums. That's what usually happens.

Actually, people overwhelmingly support elves... sometimes blindly.
Debating about Elves just leads to people getting pissed off so lets just RP.
OOC: Hey if you need an Orc nation.
Well I'm you're guy Tgram me mate
Thank you, Outerlands. I need an orc nation for the Nanakan Empire's stalemate war 2000 years ago.
The RP will start tomorrow. I need 24 hours to come up with characters and background for the story. After all, the first half takes place 2000 years before my modern characters.
I volunteer.
Since its an RP, do I have to actually use my real nation [it's a new one], or can I make up, say, about 500 million more orcs and put them in it?
Darn. I said that about 10 minutes late. Oh well.
I'm also on the wrong nation.
[Note: Cirith Ungul=me. I'll be using Cirith Ungul on here from now on.
People in the RP [I might just make it a closed RP]:

Well something just happened....and the super zombies have been intoduced. Read page 11 and the first and only post on page 12.
He has to at least have some reaction. You'll see what I mean.
I sort of... well... I forgot about this. Now, I remember. It took me an hour to find it. I think that this RP would fit in perfectly right about now. However, many of the nations that volunteered... well... um... ceased to exist. Now, I'll have to start the ideas and sign up thread over again... I'll even need new orcs....

OCC: This is Skeelzania. You probably don't have much faith in my RP attentiveness, but I try. It just so happens I made this orc nation for other purposes, and will be willing to volunteer as the Orc faction. But first I'd need to know what tech level you want, if you have a map of the region where the RP wil take place, etc. I would be glad to help though.
My region has an outdated map - the person who made it has since left NationStates. Besides, this is over a thousand years old and the climate has since shifted. It's a huge peninsula with the access to larger land at the top. In those days, the top of the peninsula was desert. The Nanakan Empire spanned the whole south area and the only thing in the way of their expansion was the orcs to the north. Naturally, the elven rulers of the Nanakan Empire would fight them. It's about 4 AD (give or take a few years) and it is so long ago, it'd be almost forgotten in Modern or Future Tech days. The war between the elven and orcish empires will be kept to part one of the RP.
The new twist is, a character I'm developing - Agent Skull (formerly Mankana Gan) - finds out that he's partially decended from the elven warrior kings. Skull, very corruptly looking for a chance to take over Nanakaland, will use his claim to the throne to try to get the sizable modern elven population in Nanakaland to revolt (Part 2). I'd thus be bringing together Man of the Skull (an RP I'm doing) and Sands of Change Part I.

Sounds reasonable. Just TG me any more info you want me to know, and when your ready we can start this. Are you going to try and get other people in on this too?
Other people can join as either independant nations in this conflict or generals under the Nanakan Empire or generals under Greenskinz.

Alright, wouldn't be opposed to that. Be nice to have some generals and cut down on the amount of RPing I would have to do...
Just post the thread when your ready, chances are I'll find it quickly.

Hey if you dont mind ill join in
around 4 AD you say...well around that time my country was a group of wandering nomad warriors, so they are used to battle.
During this time my people are the Adzehirites, a banished group of ex-slaves searching for the "promised land"
They are led by Micha, founder of Mikatopia and famous warrior.
ill probably be on thew side of the Elves to start, but in the second part my nation is a little more evil...
so if you dont want me in jsut tell me and ill go play with some rocks or a ball of hair...
You can be in. I need as much people in it as possible.

Bandalok

I could join as a large community of gnomes that sits right on the border of the northern desert (orcs) and the south (nanakan empire).
Peaceful by-and-by, but when provoked they're vicious little buggers.
eh? eh?
That might add a new element to the RP. Sure.

well I suppose thats what I plan to have happen. Filling in some history coud be good for Bandalok. A history filled with hardship and strife...
Need to descend from somewhere.
