It has been ten years since the Republic occupied the post-Principality chaos of the Than system and began to rebuild its shattered infrastructure. Today the Republic withdrew, leaving the two planets to self government and ending their provisional membership in the Republic. Hours later, Than IV and VI applied for full membership. By next week, the Than system will be a fully functional member of the Republic again.
