The poll above has been really stuffed up, sometimes there is up, sometimes is not, and some of the options are repeats, but vote, regardless of what's going with it.

Overview
16 players will pit their scheming skills, mental ability and Internet ability to outlast the other 15 players to be the ultimate Sole NationStates Survivor. After each Tribal Council, a player is voted out until one player remains. The 16 players are divided into two tribes of 8 and will go head-to-head against each other in a series of challenges to avoid going to Tribal Council, where the players are voted out. When 10 players are left, the tribes will merge into one and the last 7 that are voted out form the jury. The final two players then have to depend on the jury, the very players that they have betrayed to vote them to be the Sole Survivor. There will be twists along the way in the game to throw your strategies or alliances off and to keep the game interesting.

Application
Applications are open NOW.Please post here so that I can send you the application form via TG, which you will have to fill in. No personal information (E.g. name, age, home address, passwords) will be collected, only things which will aid in some challenges and also help me to post the challenges at the most convenient (or most inconvenient) time possible. No real money is given, as this is only a virtual game. Your only prize will be the title of ‘Sole NationStates Survivor’ and a high possibility of entering NationStates All-Star Survivor in the future if you are interested.

Puppet nations are not allowed in the game to prevent any nation from having two chances at the game. If a puppet were to sign up, then your nation will not be allowed in the present series either to be fair to the others that oblige to the rules.

If you are not one of the selected 16, you can try again in the next series.

There are certain restrictions to application:
You should be moderately active on NationStates but you don't have to be on 24/7 either. The challenges will usually take you as long as 3 days to figure out to as long as 3 weeks, so the only thing you have to do (basically) is check back often. Morever, compiling the information and writing the episode summary would take about a week or two (?), so the game is quite lax.[/b]

Other than that, basically ANYONE can play this game. If you have not watched the show before, then reading this post itsself would be sufficient to understand what the game is basically about.

Role-Playing
All RPs shoulg be TGed to One Red Dot, where I'll then sift out the ones I would need for the episode summaries. When you are role-playing, you will be using your nation name as your name so it is not an RP like let's say John said this and that and did this and that but it will be One Red Dot said this and schemed that so that it will be easier on the players to remember who is who. As we (I and the players) do not know you in real life, you can create a personality of your own, and it does not have to be similar to your own. Basically, it is similar to normal RPing, but you keep your own nation name, that's all.

Involvement
This game does not require much involvement except during challenges whereby the level of participation will be somewhat high. During the course of the game, I will be TGing a set of questions to you to ask about your experiences so far, what you feel, the underlying scheming, etc... Please try to answer the questions to the fullest extent as most of this will be the content of the episode summaries. You can also voluntarily send me some of the conversations between you and your tribemates. Some of this will be put in the episode summary but confidentiality will be maintained so that you will not be put at a disadvantage. Flaming of the other players is discouraged

Challenges
There are Reward and Immunity Challenges. If a player does not do the challenge, then s/he will not be counted in it. Challenges can be posted anytime at any day, so you will have to check often. There are two types of challenges: time trial and race. A time trial is whereby the winner is the one who does the challenge the fastest within a time limit (which is usually about 4 days), or is further ahead within the time limit. A race is whereby no time limit is given but the players have to be as fast as possible to be quicker than their opponents.

Rewards for the reward challenges will somehow aid you in the course of the game.
Immunity from Tribal Council is the prize for winning an Immunity Challenge.
The responses for the challenges are to be TGed to myself, One Red Dot.

Tribal Council
The losers of the Immunity Challenge will have to face Tribal Council. If a player is absent from Tribal Council or refuses to vote, then his/her vote will be given to him/herself as a penalty for not voting, regardless if s/he posses individual immunity. All votes are to be TGed to One Red Dot.
A tie is resolved by previous votes. If the tie is still not resolved, then the players that are involved in the tie can address their tribemates and explain why they should be kept in the game. A revote is done. If a tie still results, then the host will pick who should be removed in random (This is similar to the purple rock in Survivor: Marquesas). No form of favouritism will be shown.

Contact
Contact/scheming within the tribe can be done using various chat/messaging services, e.g. MSN Messenger, ICQ, mIRC, AIM, YIM, e-mail, NationStates Telegraphs, the NationStates Survivor Interaction thread, etc… The various contact information will be distributed to the tribe members by telegram.

Miscellaneous
There will be two threads in this game. The first is the NationStates Survivor Episode Summaries thread. This thread is for myself to post the summaries for the rest of the NationStates world to see. The second is a NationStates Survivor Interaction thread. This is where I announce challenges, and where you as the player, can say anything you want, to praise somebody or even sabotage him or her, etc… However, this can result in your quick demise in the game as others may find you untrustworthy to be with. The NationStates forum rules still apply so breaking any of the forum rules will result in your removal from the game and also the removal of your nation as far as the moderators are concerned.

If at any point, you are involved in a major injury, wedding, funeral (the grieving party, obviously. Not that I’m insensitive, it’s just that some people will try and state the obvious), overseas holiday, etc… and you will have no access to a computer, then you can post here beforehand and the game will be stopped temporarily. But be sure to hurry because we cannot wait forever. The maximum waiting period is 10 days. If you are not present by then, then the game will continue, and you will be treated as an inactive player. The biggest disadvantage is that you might be voted out.

How will the winners of the challenges be decided?

Most of the challenges will require you to search for things on the internet or answer quizzes. Tribal challenges require large amounts of communication and teamwork between the tribe members or the tribe will surly suffer inevitably. I will not disclose what the challenges really are to prevent anybody from preparing early, and that will be unfair towards the others. All I can say is that all the challenges are ready for you to do and they will not be easy. Hope that helps, TBF. :)

The part about swift communication concerns me. I can communicate by email, but I am not allowed to use AIM or ICQ here. If that will handicap my team by me not being able to communicate quickly enough, then I had better withdraw my application. Good luck to those who do play!

Communication is required, but not neccessarily swift. Online Survivors have been going on for quite a while, not that I've taken part in one yet (no luck), but even with e-mail or a simple TG is enough to even reach the merge or final 2. Chat programmes are just a bonus, and are not necessary. It's ok if you do not have access to them.

im interested. however, i would suggest simply letting people post their responses to the challenges. Otherwise you will begin to lose peoples posts in your TG box. When you write the summary, simply have people email or TG specific pieces you want.

Thanks for the suggestion, but if everybody posts their challenge answers on the boards, then those that post later can always copy the answers of those who post first, and that's not fair. The thread may get pushed down, but I'm thinking of a way to resolve that. Hope that helps.

oh, i just meant if any of the challenges were RPs where they competed V.S. one another.

The challenges will be given by myself through either a designated thread or TG, depending on which is more appropriate for the challenge. Your answers to the challenge will be given to myself via TG. I will then tally the answers to determine the winner. Following that I will give out some questions via TG (which is similar to a cameraman interview). Answers to the questions, the challenge, the challenge outcomes, Tribal Council, votes and the final words will make up the final episode summary (a.k.a RP). The whole process will take up about 1 week to 3 weeks, depending on how fast you are in doing challenges and answering questions. Hope that helps.

Although I alread have more than 16 people expressing their interest in NationStates Survivor, I am still looking for more people to apply, just in case any of them might back out. So, now I will be accepting the first 16 applicants who TG me their forms. There are 12 confirmed applicants so that leaves 4 more places.

You still can get your other NationStates regionmates/friends/enemies to join this game to create alliances or rivalries even before the game starts.

Feel free to ask any questions concerning the NationStates Survivor here and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

You've got to admit that it has taken a really long while for this to catch on.

It has been more than 6 weeks and I've yet to get 16 people. At first I thought it would take 3 weeks or less. Looks like I was wrong.

Would anyone like to start this game at 12 or 14 people (6 or 7 per tribe)? It would be slightly shorter by 2 to 4TCs, but it definitely beats waiting around and possibly (hopefully not) losing interest. It also provides a slightly shorter game and playing the game also works as promoting it. Then NSS2 could have a better response?

Anyway, I'd like to reveal some things you would expect, I can't stand being so secretive:
Internet searches
Code breaking challenges
Foreign culture
Outrageous twists (some seen in the show and some invented by yours truly)
Players that are so scheming (there are) that they would ally with you one day and backstab you the next.
Easy going to play as challenges are concentrated within a small period of days followed by a week or so for rest to let you get on with RL (you can do the challenges at your own pace and about half of them don't even require the Internet. You can even do them on some rough paper.)
Plan with each other on who you'd like to vote e.g. those that rarely do challenges? Or maybe those that win too many? Or perhaps those that play both sides? Or it could be you just hate that person/nation?
Those voted out can come back to affect your game, maybe entirely.
