Santa Claus mix-up results in near loss of life

27-12-2003, 23:49
FUNSTOCKY----A mix-up involving Santa's sleigh and a group of Arowana AAA nearly resulted in the death of the merry gift giver. When Claus' sleigh, newly outfitted with an electronic communication device to connect him with the North Pole, entered Maniacan air space late December 24, military action was taken by Coastal Defense Sgt. Grooch. "The signal on the radar said that a skybound bogey was carrying an electronic device. In the best interest of national security, we had to take the radar seriously. We couldn't make the assumption that the bogey was merely attempting to 'spread joy'" said Grooch. The AAA rolled onto the Maniacan beach at Funstocky and let fly, trying to down the bogey on Maniacan land. When Claus was reached for comment, he said that a shell came so close, his beard almost caught fire, while his reindeer, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph, and Zeppo, bucked and squealed. The Maniacan military agreed to compensate Claus for psychological effect, but Claus graciously declined.
"It was an honest mistake, made in the best interest of this fine state. No harm came of it but a few wasted shells."
