The final aircraft in the Dodekistan Air Force is released..

"What you are about to see is a demonstration of the new flagship of the Dodekistan Air Force. It is called the B-73 Vangard, after the capital city of Dodekistan."

On the tarmac, a large, triangular plane roared to life, throwing the sheet pulled over it to the ground. It started moving towards the runway.

"This plane can travel at nearly 5 times the speed of sound, and cruise at 4 times the speed of sound, making it the fastest plane in the Dodekistani fleet. It's maximum ceiling is classified, but is said to be 'higher than any other plane of its size.'"

The plane made it to the runway, and a ground shaking thunder emminated from its array of pulse-detonation engines, throwing the plane into the air. It took off, and in an instant was out of sight, leaving only the ear shattering sound of supersonic shockwaves as the plane broke the sound barrier.

"Right now the B-73 is travelling at 3 times the speed of sound, and is climbing to its cruising altitude. In a moment, we will see a demonstration of the ordinance this plane is designed to carry. The grandstands will turn now, facing the three targets we will be firing on today."

Five M1A3 tanks, in patrol formation, were set up in a large field about a mile from the grandstands. A half mile from that is a large steel-framed building. A half mile on the other side of the tanks is a steel reinforced concrete dome.

"The Vangard is now accelerating to its maximum speed and has climbed to is maximum altitude. It is about to release its ordinance. Three bombs, one 3000lb S/CGB-44 penetrator, and two 1000lb S/CGB-18 general purpose bombs. These bombs use the heat from the aerodynamic drag that is produced from the altitude and speed with which they are falling to melt the mixture of ammonium perchlorate and magnesium powder. At a computer determined distance to the target, the bombs casing is blown apart by a small explosion, releasing the molten chemicals over the target. The chemicals now are freely able to react, and do so very violently, producing a massive and extremely hot explosion. The bombs today are programmed to hit their targets in 5 second intervals, so you are able to see their highly lethal capabilities. And to your left the bombs are coming in, first the bunker, then the tanks, and then the steel framed building."

The bombs were travelling at mach 8 (being released from 80,000 feet at mach 4 tends to make things go pretty fast). In the air, the latter two bombs bled speed by increasing their altitude and throwing up drag flaps. The first bomb continued accelerating, and struck the concrete dome with a thunderous crash. It penetrated 40 feet into the dome, then exploded. A shower of white flame lept out of the hole carved by the bomb, and the pressure and heat blew the rest of the dome to pieces, throwing 1000lb chunks of concrete 100 feet into the air.

The second bomb detonated 30 feet over the tanks. A white flash, so bright it caused some people to go temporarily blind, flashed from the explosion. Sparks from the bomb showered the tanks, and the heat turned them into pools of molten metal.

The final bomb came in almost horizontal, and detonated 10 feet from the 4th floor (of 10) of the steel framed building. All the glass in the building shattered, but none of it hit the ground solid. The white flash cut the steel frame completely in half, and the building crashed to the ground, leaving only a cloud of superheated dust and pile of liquid steel.

"There you have it folks, the B-73 Vanguard weapons system."

I'll let other people attack your plane; my question is, how can a nation of your size afford to wipe out 5 Abrams for the fun of it?
