Two Magellan REC Fleets leave the Universe (All welcome)

FH News Wire - Planet Nordlund

Earlier today, two of the recently constructed Magellan Fleets were prepared to depart Spacedock. Secretary of Defense Don Andreski, when asked at a press conference why said ships were to depart ahead of the rest of the Fleets, responded, "A vote was taken in Congress on whether to spare two fleets to depart the Universe and seek another. I can't exactly say I'm too pleased with the idea of literally tossing out two fleets, but it all comes down to the people's choice."

The two Magellan fleets are scheduled to depart Spacedock as soon as a Level Ten drive can be acquired and installed. The Secretary of International Affairs has not yet received any notice from foreign nations willing to join the quest.

Any nation willing to provide level 10 Lightspeed technology will be rewarded with trillions of dollars in money and technology.

(ooc: BEH, $%&@ING POLL!!)

Since the poll is being gay...

Do you think the REC Fleets will find anything outside of this universe?

1) Yes
2) No
3) I be confizzled.

Foe Hammer: "Level ten" isn't very descriptive. Only we use that type of FTL drive, and it isn't relevant to any other type of tech. If you want it from us though, you're welcome to trade for it. Since it's a new technology though, we'll need a trade of technology for it, not just a sum of money.

We have a massive advance in Shield Technology. Perhaps this will intrest you:

Our new HDSS (Heavy Duty Selective Shield) model T-893 features a Selective-Shield-Response system. In other words, when engaged, the shield has the ability to give way to vessels with an authorization chip onboard and outbound weapons such as lasers, missiles, etc. The shield opens an area the exact shape of the vessel/object in the protection vacinity. The shield form-fits the incoming object, allowing all friendly vessels to pass through the shield, while keeping enemy fire and other objects out. The HDSS T-893 has an adjustable protection range from 100 Meters to one kilometer. The shield features a built-in Plasma Power Generator about the size of a small vehicle, such as a Mini or a Bug.

We also have advanced AI technology which we would be happy to share.

(OOC: Bah, I would be less FTL-tarded if only I could find my old FTL thread.)

Foe Hammer: We can do such things with force fields, but not with full-fledged shields. We would be glad to trade you level 10 subspace-accessing drives and the use of the technology in them to you for your shield technology.

Thank you. We are sending the Blueprints, Active Shield Disruption chips, and four full T-893 shields via Cargo ships and Defense fleets.

You are a true savior in the history of Foe Hammer. We are in great debt to your powerful nation.

The specified drives have been sent to you. We aren't saviors, just a people eager to gain to goodwill and technology of other nations. One is usually all we get, but in this case we have recieved both. You have made our government very happy.

"FHSV Magellan, Dock Control. First and Second REC Fleets cleared to depart dock, tune depart frequency Sierra-Sierra-Foxtrot Two Eight Seven. Godspeed, Magellan. See you in a few years."

The massive Magellan fleets slowly pulled out of the dock, their engines glowing red. Onboard the mighty vessels, the Theme of the Navy, Armada der Lücke (Armada of the Void), began to play. The vessels set their engines to full. In four hours, they would enter lightspeed, and all contact would cease.

All Foe Hammer could do now was hope, pray, and wait.

well, you might run across The Harbinger (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=103507) on your way out of the universe, maybe... not likely if she's under resonance drive, though... she's about to make a rather long trip, actually, and she's already over 1000 LY distant from earth...

Actually, that's a big coincidence. The Nordlund System, Foe Hammer's home system (Where the fleets launched from), is about 1,080 LY from Earth. So, depending on the speed your ships are travelling at, they could already be near the Nordlund system, where they can jump over to the Magellan fleets, join up with them, and then continue on the extra-universal course.

an interesting proposition, but the AI core of the Harbinger is leaping out of the observeable universe for a quite different reason. perhaps the Harbinger can pass by, though...

you could tag along, I suppose... but the crew doesn't know what's about to happen, they just think they're having rotten luck at finding habitable planets to drop off the colonists, and unless you feel like doing 10,000x C towards a black hole, you probably won't want to come with... but I think the Harbinger will be appearing in your space on it's journey in a little while... ;)

If we run into your ships, it would be a few hours ago, because the second fleet just entered Level 10 Subspace.
