ooc:- After Christmas I will be rebasing Slagkattunger onto another solar system & redeveloping it's tech, government & military.

Reason for this are: -
Because I want to (isn't that enough?)
Reduce the number of threats to my nation from small nations.
Gives me a whole system to myself.
Find out who ignores high tech stuff without a good reason.

In regards to point 4.....there is no real reason to ignore it as I am not a warmonger.

I won't RP the shift, just assume the last few week I have been quietly moving my population to this new world.

Why post this? Just to let people know :P and to commit myself to it.

Just in case you are wondering how I intend to travel between the stars I will tell you now.

Basically it's impossible for technology to cross light years quickly (Like in days or weeks instead of centuries), but we can do it because we have phycics (sp?) who can shift the large spaceships they are on into subspace where it is possible to go faster than light. There are catches to all this, like the length of time the phycic can keep the starship in subspace & the fact you can run into mass shadows created by stars & planets etc (similar to Star Wars hyperspace).

Haven't decided on how fast it will take to travel a light year, was thinking of 1 hour = 1 light year.

Why don't we form a new region for nations with their own star system? Main purpose is trade relations & maybe support with forming an anti-piracy/ smuggler laws that we all agree on etc.

After many years of searching the great Bio-ship surveyor from Sakkra had finally found it......a solar system with a habitable planet that met the requirements laid out by their government.

Well you could do it better I'm sure :P

If I can convince a friend of mine to come with me, I'd participate in the making of such a Region at the drop of a hat, also, the searching for new worlds could make some AWESOME RPing.

May I suggest we set up a region & then worry about the nitty gritty latter?

Something along the lines of Star Kingdoms Alliance main requirement of having only 1 inhabitable solar system & no more to yourself.

Fine with me S.A.S is such a good acronym (Australian Special forces for you unfortunate people who don't know).

Just make it a rule for the region that members may not have more than 1 inhabitable star systems......to prevent empire builders from joining.

It's too hard to RP with anyone else when you're outside Sol. Trust me, I tried it for a month, got tired of the CONSTANT Ignores JUST because I was outside the Sol system, the scarcity of any good space RPs, the n00bs saying they have SSDs on day two, the large nations saying they have six or more SSDs and the people that look down on you because they consider space to be cheap RP, because of the extreme GMing that happens there.

Well... see you in a month or so, as I don't have FTL capability. Too bad, I was about to... well, nevermind. It's not important now.

I have watched AMF, Elara, a few dead nations I'm too tired to remember the names of, A nation with 2 at the end of it's name(I shall not honor a n00b with a full mention), Auman(I think), Walten(special case, but still) and a few others I forget the names of(I'm tired, so sue me) all go to space, stay there for a while, either abandon it completely and return to Earth, let the nation die and start over, or give up all FTL.

I do not believe I set standards. I simply make a prediction based on previous observations.

I never ignored any space based nation yet, so I fail how people justify it.

For myself I'm going to mix moden & future tech together, and justify FTL by using phycics (who knows the potential of a Slagkattungerian mind.........oh hang on I do :wink: :P ).

Ya well...your ship has no running lights, A breach of internaitional laws I think. (In war you turn them off, but we are at peace at the moment)
