Scientists Demonstrate Ion Repulser Lift

extracted from the Haaregradian Journal of Science and Engineering

Haaregradian scientists have successfully demonstrated an Ion Repulser, which allows a craft to make lift regardless of it's shape. The lifter was tested on a small hovercraft in place of it's conventional skirt and fan arrangement.

The device allowed the craft to fly as high as 10 meters off of the ground.
Other then an improved ceiling no substantial benefits were offered, however with improved research and testing something great might be possible.

The device works by ionizing the air underneath it, the air and the plate of the device both are charged either positive or negative, which forces them away, like a magnet. So far the lifter has been very limited in the amount of weight it can lift of the ground, 500lbs is the maximum reached, again further research should improve this.

Nice. LRR could probably use this on frigates and such for planetary landings. Although our main research funds are concentrated on nanomachines, we will invest 10 billion USD in this project with a further 100 in installments once we have the money.

(semi-ooc)

we like this kind of tecnology to make ambulances, firetrucks and widow washing platforms. is also good to defeat ignition system in ground cars.

we don't use ground effect with fans cause everyone can't stand
it makes too much noise. buzz and crackle of ion charge makes hair
stand on end a little but is much quieter and we like that a lot

just glad to hear someone else is doing this too. i have not enough
science to know if this is same tecnology as ours. i think we have
solid state modules that modulate
gravity itself. we get from distant
friends. they like our coffee and our little trains and construction
and agriculture robots. we trade much good. all happy.

Shvetsov R&D teams with their newly aquired funding have demonstrated a version capable of lifting over 700lbs. The system is being considered for many different applications, a window washing platform might be considered if the ceiling is increased.

Subject : Repulsor Update

Prototypes are proving rather sucessful, and ground is being broken.
The final craft will be armed with either a .50 cal machine gun or a .303 cal machine gun. Additionally there will be two tubes to mount RPG 21 or RPG 7 launchers. The craft will have a 500lb turbojet. More details to follow. This will be exclusively be a special forces and scouting vehicle, so it won't be employed in huge numbers. There will likely be a civilian version. The main problems are bringing the power draw down to a reasonable level, and increasing the overall lift to minimum 1250lbs.

So far the strongest unit has had 750lbs of lift as was incorporated into a 3/4 size RC prototype. We already have ideas for a bigger and better repulsor craft, some which might not ever be feasible.

How about a replacement for the AH-35U Super Hinds? One that can operate as a LCAC too? Maybe a SSTOVL(super short take off, vertical landing) fighter? These are only ideas now, but someday, someday, might be worthwhile. The sky is the limit, this should be our number one project.

Have Ground Command and Marine Command officials in to demostrate this, we need more funding. Are there any defense expos soon? They would eat this up.

When will we be seeing a market version?

Couple of weeks. There's going to be a two seat "sports car" variant and a one person "speeder bike". There's also going to be military versions of both.

So it can hover on the water and go fast. An improved gravship. Or maybe so it can go over land.

Shvetsov OKB wishes to invite all investors to this project as well as representatives from all nation's involved armed forces for a demonstration of our prototype vehicles.

There will be an open bar as well as a full meal served.

Additionally all room costs and meals at the hotel will be covered, please feel free to join us.

Unfortunately at this time there is no way we could lift an object as large as an aircraft carrier, however we do hope to have a quick, amphibious assualt craft on the drawing boards within ten years. Something with BMP-class armor and weaponry, able to carry at least 16 soldiers inside.

Testing has begun of a small BMP class repulsorcraft.

This is just a proof of concept vehicle, holding a crew of five, the planned version will hold a crew of three and a company of 12. No more details are yet known.
