Erogs Ogaues stood at the edge of the city enterance, looking out at the mountains on all sides of him. When he looked hard enough you could see the forest on the other edge of the ridge. He looked to the west and saw the last rays of the sun sinking away.
"Sir Ogaues, We are going to close the city gates now, are you in or out?" a city guard clad in full battle uniform asked.
"I'm coming. You wouldn't lock your new national leader out alone would you?" Ogaues joked.
The soldier smiled a little, but decide against showing his true feelings. The guard knew Ogaues wasn't going to win the election, and he was glad. He didn't show it.
Ogaues walked down the torch-light rock tunnels. He walked deeper into his city, deeper into the mountain. Erogs Ogaues reached his home and stepped in. He made a small fire and used it to light the torches in his main room. Ogaues was tired and stepped into his bedroom, meaning to get ready for bed.
Instead he found himself face to face with a nasty Orcish assassin.
