It is with a heavy heart we report that Emperor Vito has passed away early this morning from a pre existing heart condition. The Inquisition report that his death was painless and peaceful. His rule of over 40 years were the most peaceful ever seen by a Belem, some even calling it Pax Belem. He had kept Belem safe from both external and internal threats.

Since the Emperor lacked a suitable heir the Inquisition has assumed control of the government until an heir can be found. The husbands of the Emperors daughters do not have the neccessary service under the Inquisition to be deemed appropiate. Nor do any other relatives have the neccessary qualifications. The Inquisition will maintain control of the government until a proper heir come of age.
