I have a quick question...How is the population of each nation determined? Does the growth rate change depending on one's activness or by the decisions made?
I believe I read that those who receive issues experience a somewhat faster population growth rate. Your level of activity does not, AFAIK, affect growth in any way. I do believe, however, that as your population increases, so does the rate at which it grows.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will come around and answer these questions and more.

I belive decisions made impact growth rate(I've seen younger nations with higher pops than older nations); otherwise, it's just a matter of how long your nation's been around.
EDIT: Larger nations also tend to have higher growth rates
