To all Catholic nations:

Submit the name of ONE, repeat ONE person you would like to be a candidate for Pope. Give a brief dossier of their personality, religious qualifications and hopes for the future. Either post them here or Tgram me.

After I have complied a credible list of candiates I will post them up on another thread entitled "Pope Elections" or something like that and we can all vote.

Cheers and

NO LAME ATTACKS OR INTERRUPTIONS TO BE TOLERATED.

Uh you have to write a description of the candidate as well!

Cardinal Blandzt Dubal

Cardinal Dubal is notable due to the fact that he grew up in an unhospitable communist state where religion was banned. Still, he managed to form an underground movement of Catholics who worshipped in a church made out of a former cold war bomb shelter. After he and his congregation escaped in a highly publicised tunnel project, he was a missionary in Africa working in the AIDS crisis. After serving as a bishop in the dioceses of Carlvania in The Saddamised states, he was duly elected to cardinal, and is now a hopeful for the papal seat.

Cardinal Augustus Brown

Born in Jeruselem to a poor family, he joined the local Catholic Church at the age of 10. His local priest was a ped and abused him, but did not leave. Instead he stayed in and made friends with old King Cyrus I. When Mariah I ascended the throne his promotion to Cardinal was made and his tormentor was summarily punished. He is seen as a liberal, but still holds dear to the funderamental Catholic beliefs.

His current post as Minister for Religion and Culture as enabled him to make inroads into the papal system, while appearing to be a non-contender. His current Crusade on pedaphilia has made him unpopular with some Conservatives who don't want the issue to be "high profile", but several purges of peds in Jeruselem has made him popular with the people.

Michael Jackson is banned from entering Jeruselem under one of his orders.

Shameless plug ...

Jeruselem: does this mean the Defenders of the Faith will now accept someone other than John Paul II as Pope?

When the current Holy Father passes, why not consider Tissa Balasuriya. It is time for a non-European Pope, in order to reflect the universal nature of the Church. Father Tissa Balasuriya is a Sri Lankan priest and theologian. He is an active proponent of promoting an Asian understanding of God, and is author of the book Mary and Human Liberation. He has called for a decentralization of the church to better reflect the diversity of our faith.

I have seen some positive signs from Cardinal Arinze. It seems out of many who have a good chance, he might be a decent choice. He seems to have become more conservative after time in Rome, besides, I would have no objection to our first African Pope.

Thank you so much for your suggestions and no doubt race will matter little rather I think a solid foundation in theology and proven records of good work and compassionate spirit would matter far more. Please continue to submit candidates and in a few days time I will put the poll up.

"My my... Well since John-Paul II is on his last legs it seems that the wolves are circling for the papacy... At least our Church of Navacona Christianity has moved beyond such things, the High Zenshia picks his own successor with His or Her perfect wisdom."

Hmm, Catholic Europe has its own Pope, Pope Pius XIII, who we believe to be the leader and Pope of the Roman Catholic Church.

Catholic Europe,

That is fine and as you may have gathered many nations have their own self declared heads of the Catholic Church. But I think to be fair and logical there is little influence your Pope will have over other nations compared to one elected by the general College of Cardinals I have proposed.

Of course I will give my utmost effort to encourge you to submit a candidate of your liking. Who knows, if he is qualified the Catholic nations of NS will know this.

Cardinal Chang, chamberlain and aid to the previous Pope gets up to address the assembled faithful and holy cardinals of the College. "Herahumph" the old man clears his throat "As the chamberlain to the Pope it is well known that I cannot be consider as a candidate for Pope. Canoncial law has laid down this law so it is natural that I shall oversee the proceedings along with the eldest cardinal of the College.

In my old age I have forgotten the name of this gentlemen so please message me.

OOC: So first come first serve, and lets make it realist hmm? You must be at least 75 and give a brief description of your character as well. Just a caveat, usually the College does not elect the oldest Cardinal though it has happened before. I will wait ONE MORE DAY before assembling the list.

Yes, I know this. I was just messing around.

However, I would therefore like to nominate Pope Pius XIII as the next Pope.

He has ruled Catholic Europe for over 20 years and has much experience within the role of being Pope (he is the head of at least 2 billion followers).
