so cruel, so cruel...

This is one the options I got to deal with the illegal immigration issue. It was so strange I had to choose it

"Hold on there, hold on people!" says Lars Dredd of the Doremifasolatido Broadcasting company, "We don't have to take either extreme, all we have to do is make a TV game show out of it! We put deadly obstacles on the border and monitor it with television cameras! Those that make it across win freedom and citizenship, and those who don't, well, lets just say that our buzzards won't starve. We could call it 'Who Wants to be an Immigrant?'!"

Personal Statement from Premier Bomfy

You must be one of those insane nations that hasn't banned immigration yet and actually allow them into your nation if they get through? We just shoot them after they make it through and dump their bodies outside of our borders. Entertaining and they're not a drain on our social welfare system. Win/Win situation, except for them... but who gives a damn about those people anyway?

Oh, excuse me for a minute, a truckload is trying to get across a minefield and inside through the Western Badlands...

*the live feed switches to a black and white security camera following a dirty, white pickup truck with half a dozen people in the back driving over a section of razor wire.

The truck's front tires burst and a few of the people in the back fall forward over the cab as it comes to an abrupt halt, one of the group hits the ground rather hard and triggers one of the mines and is immediately blown in half. The others scramble back to the truck and help those that have been injured.

The people scatter once they see an AH-60 Black Hawk gunship helicopter with a spotlight approach the area, leaving two of the group inside the vehicle still injured. The helicopter, fitted out as a gunship, fires a Hellfire missile from one of the hardpoints and the vehicle explodes in a large fireball, one of the figures inside tries to escape the burning wreckage, but falls over a few feet from the truck, engulfed in flames.

A door gunner on the helicopter opens fire on the people on the ground with one of the craft's miniguns, several fall victim to the rapid fire, but a few manage to get through the minefield and into Aequatian territory and behind the cover of a wrecked car from the bullets.

A humvee pulls up and a man in a black suit, followed by a few soldiers in full gear and armed with rifles, steps out of the vehicle and walks over to the immigrants. The man in the suit reads from a paper and points to the group of ragged people, the soldiers then line them up and quickly put a bullet into each person's chest. One falls to his knees gasping and cluching his throat as blood spurts from his mouth, a sergeant starts yelling at the wounded man and kicks him down onto the ground. He then pulls out his sidearm and puts a bullet in the man's head, ceasing his writhing and agony.

The bodies are then loaded into the back of the humvee and they are taken away as the live feed goes back to Premier Bomfy.*

No matter how many times I see the same thing happen over and over again, it's always fun to watch. And see how much better that is? Letting outsiders into your nation... how absurd... it's crazy is what it is.

while it is certainly true that this scenario, amusing only so long
as it is someone else's life at stake, were it to be broadcast on
a "pay per view" basis might raise considerable revinue, i can personaly
recall a time when 'rollerball' was considered sciffy HORROR.

we are instead one of those "insane" nations that reguard no one as "them"
but only "us's" that haven't realized it yet.

(and doesn't this belong in 'general' rather then rollplay?)

(not that i doubt anyone is rollplaying their approach to it, much)
