I'm interested in developing a large Battlecruiser, something like a Kirov, no really large guns (nothing larger than 8"'s please) and really heavy armor. But multiple missile launchers. THAAD missiles in VLS along with the best Anti-ship and land attack missiles. I basically want a 60-70,000 ton armored Missile ship.

It's the same size as a Kirov, but with large VLS cells. The main advantage to guns is the cheepness of them to use. You can't just bombard a real enemy with endless cruise missiles(US vs. Iraq doesn't count, Iraq has nothing to shoot the missiles down with, if US vs. USSR happened that would be different)

I understand the difference. But i want something that strikes a balance between an Arsenal Ship and an Iowa. Heavy armor, long range, anti-air. Some large guns.

just wanted to point out the only flaw with cruise missels is that they use surface reconigition to figuer out where they are, and becuase there really isn't any noticeable landmarks in the desert, most of the cruiser missels followed rivers, and becuase cruise missels are rather slow (atleast comparitily) the iraq's just set up aa guns along the river and that was that. I don't remeber any stats... I just remebered it becuase it was surprising to me.

You mean Tomahawk cruise missiles are slow, Sunburns, which can be used for land attack, fly at like Mach 3 I think... *checks stats* Yes, mach 3.
