Virgin Atlantic has been granted $180m of Taiwanese government funding to begin researching PDEs for missiles and UAVs/UCAVs. PDEs promise to revolutionise aviation, as they are simpler in design than turbofans and capable of reaching higher speeds, as well as being more economical.
