A man sat across from another, garbed in an armani suit. His dark brown hair was neatly in place, and his dark eyes scanned the other. His skin was awefully pale, and his eyes were cold, yet humor rolled off the corner of his lips in a twisted smile some knew all too well. Yes, his sister had changed him, from his natural form, into the appearance he possessed now. He would never turn out like Vaughn...or any of the others. The man whom sat across from him had a miniature microphone in his hand, recording the words that were said.
"So," he began, looking intently at the man. "They say that there has been a restoration of leadership, and rumors of Ms. Shentavo's return? What do you have to say about it?" The other glanced out the window, and inhaled deeply.
"Yes," he replied. "It is true. Though not in the mannor you think it is. She is not in the same form as before, but her soul is true."
"How can you be so sure?" the reporter asked pressing the question. The man returned and amused glance, and the reporter nodded in reply. "Right...I forgot. You're her son...so where are the wings? The fangs? The eyes?"
Qui chuckled slightly. "You don't like my look? Rather you have the wings, the fangs, and the eyes before you. That wouldn't make for such a comfortable atmosphere now would it?"
"I suppose not sir," he said, carrying on with the interveiw. Talk about interveiw with a vampire. "So, tell me, who you are."
"I wish I could answer that question for you. I am a son of the ledgend people's ignorance damned to hell for the blood saved by her hand, you could attempt to analyze my DNA, but considering the fact that I honestly don't need much oxygen nor a beat of the heart to survive, your results would be inconclusive."
"I see," he said, shifting in his chair. "What ever happened to your fiance, Azari was it?" Qui gripped the arm of the chair so hard, it snapped. The reporter jumped a little.
"She's not among this earth any longer," he replied softly.
"May I ask how she passed away?"
"No."
"Very well then,"he said, looking at the man before him. "Do you have anyone else?"
"Anyone else?" he said raising his eyebrow. He sighed heavily, his muscles tensing slightly. "You think that anyone has the capacity to fall in love with me? No, I've given up on love. I lost it a long time ago.
The reporter was shocked for the second time in the conversation. "You don't seem you'd have any trouble finding some one..."
"Appearances can be deceiving," he replied, a flicker in his tone.
"I suppose so..."

Was it a coincidence that he was here, at this point of time, at this place?
The tall man with short black hair and blue eyes didn't belive in Providence but this was nearly too much for a simple coincidence.
He tried not to stare at the two men at the table next to him but listened carefully at everything they said.

"They tell me that you have complete control over the nation."

"I do," Qui replied, not giving an indepth answer, until he persisted. "If she requests it back, I would return in under her leadership."

"So," he said. "You run the nation now. Where are your body guards?"

Qui raised his eyebrow. Those who knew him personally would have not asked him that question. "Body guards?" he asked chuckling.

The reporter was caught off guard, and stammered slightly on his words. "S...so...."

"So what else do you want to know?" he asked, leaning back in his chair.

"I find it hard to beleive that your appearance could change so quickly...and I find it doubtful you say what you are."

Qui stood up, his eyes pressing into the others. "You've heard the stories. You know who I am, you know my mother, and yet there is still doubt within your mind?"

"I have to see it to beleive it."

"Well, then." he said, mimicking the reporter before returning to his forceful tone. "Come with me, I'll show you." He looked outside as the sun began to set. The reporter shivered, and began to get up.

Alice stood outside the cafe, pretending to be reading some article about women's fashion. Of course it did not interest her. She had one interest, the vampire inside the cafe.

Ever since her father was killed by such a creature, Alice has dedicated her life to hunting down their kind. Her quest has taken her away from Assington and lead her to the Shentavos.

Her eyes were an icy blue, cold and intelligent. She had long black her which hung over her shoulders and a smooth face. Spending so much time running around in the night had left her with a faded tan, hardly noticable anymore. Within her black trenchcoat she posessed several blades, a sword, a few pistols with silver bullets and an asortment of other tools.

And so Alice waited.

OOC: I assume silver has some sort of affect on your vamps?

ooc: silver is for werewolves lol. (and semi peaceful rp)

IC:

The reporter rose, and followed him out of the building. A wave of coldness swept over Alice as he passed by. His dark eyes turning back over his shoulder to meet hers. The mindbreaker, was not an ordinary vampire, and if you disagree, beg to differ with his mother. A child born of two immortals creates quite the being, and being born of Ravelyn and Daja, the even more so....
He led the reporter behind the cafe into a vacant lot where no soul had gone in many years. Darkness began to fell, and the reporter spoke. "So, show me...if your Qui Shentavo, then show me."
Qui chuckled. "I don't have to show you a thing, but that doesn't mean I won't." He closed his eyes momentarily, the air grew much colder quickly. He opened his eyes as they flashed crimson, white flowing from the roots of his hair and extinguishing the last bit of color. A wave of crystal blue swept over his left eye, shrouding the scarlet color into a light blue abyss. He gritted his teeth as two wings unfurled from his back, slashing through his skin, and spreading out. The reporter stammered back as he saw the sight. Never did he think the rumors were true...now he thought differently. The angelic vampire looked at him, his muscles tensed.
"Quite a paradox, aren't you?" he said, slightly in fear, for he was the subordinate of the two.
"I am," Qui said, quite relaxed as he leaned against the wall.
"So, tell me how you got this way, how do you have another side?"

Qui inhaled deeply, taking in uneeded air. "It all began because of my mother. A seraphim you know, Miss Ravelyn, or if you will; Azrael. She was taken by Daja Desuray, you've heard of him. The darkest of creatures to walk this land. And she bore a son, being me. I never saw my mother as an angel, she was taken into the embrace after, against her will. But being of her origin, and having mixed bloodlines, she was able to maintain the balance within her, and remained a creature of the light. I on the other hand, never considered myself to have an angelic side. She would tell me, but I would not beleive her... As you can see, I do now. I always clamied to be a pure blood, which now I realize is hardly the case. You know the story of Ravelyn Shentavo and Michael Vaughn, and you know it well enough to get the basics. A daughter was born, Sarah. I was dealing with demons ever since my mother died, the ones within me. She gave me my first appearance you saw to mask them...works well, doesn't it?" It was now clear, that fangs rested on his lower lip. "That's how I keep my balance...though not as well, I often slip, as you know I'm quite agressive...." He smirked.
The reporter looked at him in complete shock. "I beleive you...I do...so what are you going to do now?"
"Continue with your interveiw, why don't you?"
"Alright," he said, nervously looking at the anceint before him. "Now tell me how Azari died..."
"Very well..."

OOC: In some cases, silver is effective against vamps. My character may be a vamp hunter, but things won't necessarily turn out violent. Since I don't know a lot about your kind of vamps, could you tg me a little info.

IC: Alice could sense Qui before he emerged from the cafe. She reached out with her mind, observing but never entering his privacy. There was something different about this one, he wasn't like other vampires.

She was about to move, to get a better look at what he was doing with the reporter when she was overwhelmed by a sense of power. Recovering from the surge of power, Alice extended her mind into the alley, to gather an idea of what was taking place.

He shifted his wings behind him, then continued. "My fiance? Well. Let's start at the beginning. She was never interested in me, just killing the son of her sire. We have an extremely complex family, as you will soon find out. She had aligned herself with Mephisto, the greater demon set on taking out Ravelyn. Light against darkness. I was blind to this. She led me off, thinking that it were something else of course. I was ambushed...and managed to escape to the mansion, falling completely unconscious and badly wounded. Azari had been behind it all, but I could tell no one that I was unconscious. There was another of the household she was working with, the healer named Seni. He kept me from waking up. Seth, another of my family, ended up taking him out, and broke my sleep. I went after Marius, an anceint, and bent on killing Ravelyn, and My sister Genesis went after Azari. I deleivered death to Marius, but the final blow was reserved for me. I killed her." He sighed softly. "Seems everyone I fall in love will is either evil or totally wrong for me."
"Sad," he replied.
"No," Qui returned. "Just bad luck."

"So you've given up on love?" he asked, listening to the vampire's tale.

"Love's given up on me," he continued, indifferent to his own situation.

"Hmm..." he said in observance, then snapped back to the interveiw. "So, they say you have a powerful mind. Care to demonstrate?"

Qui looked at him. "Why the hell not?" he said, and stared at the reporter for but several seconds. "Alright."

"What?" he said confused. "You didn't do anything."

"Didn't do anything? Well then, how is Kayleigh doing? And that new house. You really don't beleive me...the fact that I know this. You're 37, been divorced twice---"
"Anyone could have researched that on the internet."

"The key to your house is hidden on the right gutter under a panel, you're cat's name is Tuntses, and you decided to where a white shirt today instead of that God aweful grey one."

 The reporter suddenly regained his composure. "Mind reading proves nothing."

"It doens't?" he asked. "well then..." he closed his eye, and concentrated deeply. THe reporter rolled his eyes. Qui opened his.

"Well?! What did you do?! Nothing..." he laughed. Qui leaned back against the wall, as the reporter felt extremely tired.

"Maybe you should get some rest." Qui said, and rushed toward him, placing his hands on either side of his head. In a few seconds of contact, the man fell asleep. Qui looked at him, and sighed. "You wanted to learn...but such things I can not do here...not in this place." He left the man there, very much still alive, and took the recorder with him.

His wings began to disappear as he regained his composere, the broken and tattered feathers disappearing. His crimson eyes returned to a deep brown, and his fangs retracted. His hair darkend from a white to a brown. He cracked his neck, and walked toward the cafe once again. From a distacne, he saw that that girl was no longer at the door, and made a note of it. He took the recorder in his hand, and gripped it so tightly it shattered. He dropped it to the ground.

Where did she go off to... he thought to himself silently. The ones who hung around the cafe at night, usually did not leave until the early hours of the morning. He entered the cafe, and received many lookin, but ignored them completely. He sat down and leaned back. A waitress came by, and he smile. He said something inaudible, and she nodded.
He sighed heavily, and waited until she returned with an empty glass. She looked at him strangly for the request, but left as soon as he acknowledged it. He took from his pocket a flask and filled the glass halfway with a red wine. He laughed at him self. It was exactly what Rave had done so many times.

Alice observes the incident in the alley, from a distance. She had decided to move across the street when the wings had appeared. She knew there was something different about this one, and there it was. Her head was filled with many thoughts, attempting to solve the problem of killing an angelic vampire. She didn't even know if it was possible.

Finally she made up her mind. Best to simply observe for now. She casually made her way back into the cafe and ordered a coffee.

(#*~§$%&?^ forum. Now I missed my chance to write what I wanted to write.)

He was back, for the agent's luck. It wouldn't have been good to miss such a chance.
He approached the brown-haired man as if he was on the way to the rest rooms. Like accidentially he touched the man's suit.
He murmurred an excuse and went over to the rest rooms, leaving a very small chip on the back of the armani suit.

21-12-2003, 18:14
Qui watched as the man passed him. As he did, a wave of coldness swept over the one who passed by. And as he looked back, Qui's eyes flashed a brilliant crimson momentarily. It was hard to tell what was going on in his mind...very hard to tell given the expression of indifference. He slowely got up, finishing off the glass and setting it upon the table. He followed.

As fast as possible he tried to build up a second barrier around his mind without making it too conspicious but he was aware that he couldn't undo his fault.

Qui looks at the man, walking toward him. He pushes him back intimidatingly, looking down upon him. Then he sensed it. My my... he thought to himself, his thoughts safe within the confines of his own mind. Now what would a Maxwell be doing here? If it's Joshua... Qui looked at the man, his icy breath upon his neck. "Excuse me for a moment. He turned around immediately, and was through the door in seconds. His gaze fell upon a remarkable young woman. She seemed pure...full of light. As she looked at him, it was then that she realized it was blood that had been left as a residue within the glass, though none apparent to the others.
"Now," he said to her. "What would the likes of a Maxwell be doing in a cafe such as this?"

"Now tell me, what is a Maxwell doing here?" He observed her intently. Most of the people at the cafe were beginning to leave, not bothering to notice that their leader stood in their presense.

The reporter crawled back into the room, getting to his feet, and frantically trying to write everything down. Qui was about to do something to stifle him, but focused on Echo.

Qui looked at the man, still in the restroom. It had not taken long to come to terms with a Maxwell, a family he despised so. Joshua Maxwell had been a knife though his side since day one. He leaned against the wall and sighed heavily. "So...now that that is taken care of...why would you be attempting to follow me?" The man's defenses were renewed, and he sighed to himself.

She could sense that the reporter knew at least something about the vampire. She began to probe his mind for relevant information.

"Yes," he said. "I don't know what he's exactly doing here. I called for a meeting, talked to a charming lady on the phone..Kenya something or rather....and she said he'd speak with me. This was just the meeting place, though why he's hanging around I don't know. People seem to know him hear. His father was Daja Desurey, an anceint, and a vile creature at that. His mother, however. Was really something else. He was born of a ledgend; Ravelyn Shentavo. She died about five years back, though... and he took control of the nation. he was born of an angel and a vampire...a walking paradox..."
He lookd at her, then fumbled for words. "Yes, erm. I forgot to introduce my self. Max Nonomura, seven o' clock news."

Outside, his recorder lay in shattered pieces on the ground.

"Oh," he said softly. "I think I've lost it..."

The reporter looks up to them, and watches as Qui leaves back for the rest room, crackling his knuckles silently.

The agent, though not really looking like an agent (but that's how a good agent looks like, isn't it?), waited for Qui to return.

Hmmm...seems to be in a bad mood. Could be bad...or good. We'll see.

Vladlupe walked the street, shrouded in a dark cloth. This made him somewhat conspicious, but less so, he believed than his usual appearance would have done. He kept his head bowed, not out of humility, or a lack of confidence, but to hide his face - pale, with fangs. His eyes were red at the iris, and seemed to glow slightly.

He trudged on, unsure that he had made the right choice. When The Underground City had been invaded he had fled - was that cowardly, or just common sense? They were powerful, but he was Vladlupe, a respected and feared vampire amongst the city's denizens. He had seen what had happened to his kin. Burnt to ashes in seconds by the rays of light from the invaders' guns. Slain, his bretheren. Rage filled him and he clenched his clawed fist.

He didn't even know where he was now. He had just kept walking after teleporting out of the city, and the realm of Niogoul Maeromirpli. He had become a vagrant, wandering the lands, and feeding off whoever crossed his path.

So preoccupied was he, that he was unaware by sight, sound, or other less common senses of those around him, and walked straight into Qui.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" he said, trying to shift the blame.

Qui shifted his gaze as he felt someone bump into him. He turned toward the man, looking upon him, his nearly black eyes consuming him before flashing scarlet. "Watch where I'm going?" he asked, brushing off the black sleave of his Armani suit. It now became apparent that he did not just bump into someone whom could be pushed aside so easily. "I was just standing here...it was you that had not watched where you were going, boy." His tone was clearly condenscending. He moved closer to him. His fangs were not visable at all, this was his altered form which Sarah had given her. But his presense...his presense was great.

Vladlupe had entered the cafe to wash his hands. Wandering aimlessly did not do much for one's cleanliness. Every now and then he took the opportunity to wash and comb his hair.

He looked up at Qui, his mind now firmly back into the current time and place. He sensed a great power eminating from him, and hoped, for a second it was a friend, but unfortunately, the man was unfamiliar. He bowed his head again, to conceal his face once more.

"Pardon me, sir. You are correct; it was my fault."

Qui looked at him momentarily, then back at the agent. Discretely he had taken the chip from the edge of his coat during the distraction. It had been just what he needed. He walked to the agent, facing him and putting his hand on his shoulder, and gripping hard. "Nice speaking with you..." he said, laughing inside. He slowely backed away from him, and looked at the other.
Vampire, eh? he thought to himself. Other vampires were clearly not on his A list, though he said nothing more to him. He simply glared at him, sensing something pecliar, but it didn't catch his attention. He walked out, his nearly black eyes shifting to the door.
The moment that he saw him, the reporter shot up, and rushed toward him, pen and paper in hand. Qui could do nothing more then to hit him clear across the face, knocking him backwards so hard that his feet slipped from under him.
He looked at Alice and Echo. "I mean come on," he said. "Who the hell didn't want to do that." They were the only ones left in the cafe. He fixed his jacket, and looked at the bewildered waitress. "Check please."
The Underground City
22-12-2003, 18:39
After washing his hands, Vladlupe left the restroom, and sat down at a table. He glanced at Qui occasionally, curious to see who this man was, and to the nature of his business here.

He knows... thought Vladlupe. He can probably read minds too...

Vladlupe did his best to block any unwanted entry into his mind. He did not fear much, but psychic power unnerved him. He was comfortable with the world he could touch. He had encountered many battles in his time, and trusted his swordplay but an enemy that uses their mind as a weapon was not something he would be ready to face. He hoped that the man was not about to decide Vladlupe was undeserving of life, unlife or whatever it should be called.

A waitress walked over to him.

"Something to drink?" she asked.

"No thankyou", he answered. Maybe later... he thought, half-jokingly. He stopped - he was used to his thought being private, but now he had to be utmost careful.

Qui shifted his glance to Vladlupe. The corners of his mouth were brought to a smile. He simply watched him from a table dimly lit at the corner of the room. The cafe was supposed to be closing, but for some reason, it remained open. So... he thought to himself. Let's see what we have in the entirety. We have a man in the bathroom who is attempting to track me...he'll be tracking himself for quite a long time. We have Echo, my God damn fledglings boyfriend's sister. Fancy that she being here..another Maxwell; just exactly what the world has no use for. We then have that reporter, now on his back in pain with a broken nose. If not ended up like that by my hand, then someone elses. Then that man whom keeps looking over here, if a man is what you'd call him. A fledgling...no, neonate is a possibility, elder the probability, ancient a rarity. Then his eyes fell upon the girl he had seen at the doorway.mmm...she's a little more difficult to figure out. Intriguing... He thought to himself as he took a sip of his flask. Now why would you be here...
He looked at Vladlupe momentarily, then capped his flask, throwing it to him. He knew he was watching, and he knew that he could easily catch it. What he would be even more suprised at was what was inside it. Be careful, he communicated to him. It's quite strong... A wry smile crossed his lips. He never had been that kind toward other vampires, but this he wanted to see play out. There were four prominant vampires in the nation, and some others here and there. This one he had not seen before.
The Underground City
22-12-2003, 19:05
Vladlupe reached out and caught the flask. He was curious as to why the man would throw it to him. He looked at Qui, who's expression showed that he wanted Vladlupe to open the flask. He did so, pointing it away from him, just in case. When he did so, he smelt the familiar smell of blood. Though he knew what was inside, he looked through the the neck anyway; an attempt at deception. He sniffed, with the flask to his nose. He tossed it back, not wanting to approach Qui to hand it over.

"I thank you, sir, but I am not thirsty at the moment", he said.

Qui caught it with one hand, and it was concealed instantly within his coat. He chuckled in amusement of this. "As you wish," he said. He leaned back in his chair, and watched them all. A click was heard faintly, though it was undistinguishable. It could not have been from Qui, for both his hands were on the table...it sounded like it came from the door. The door had locked.
The moment this happened, the anceint looked at Vladlupe. "May I speak with you for a moment." His voice called out to the strange. The waitress came over to his table, bringing the check. There was no numbers written on it, and he placed it in his jacket pocket. So her name is Alice.. he thought to himself after looking at the paper. Later then... he looked back at Vlad.

The agent leaned against the wall. This had been ... uncomfortable moments. If the Shentavo would have been aware of the chip ... the king wouldn't have been very glad about one of his agents destroying the relationships between the Empire and Shentavo.
He sighed.

Alright. lets see if the baby has something to say. he activated the listening function of the chip ... and heared nothing. He increased the frequenzy but there was nothing to hear.

"Shit!" he said
Shit! it sounded from the speaker in his ear.
"What?"
What?

Great He looked at his shoulder where Qui had touched him and took the chip from his tweed jacket.
Great

I'll never again allow them to equip me with this stuff when I'm on holiday he thought.
Then he left the rest rooms and the cafe.

The national leader? thought Vladlupe. That would explain his power.

"I assure you, your majesty, I have no business here. I am merely a wanderer, a refugee. You need not fear harm from me, and I hope I can feel the same."

He was unfamiliar with the name; word of the outside world seldom passed into The Underground City. However, he could tell that proper respect was due. He wondered if his explanation was enough, or if Qui would inquire further. He would have little choice but to tell the truth; this man would surely detect any lies.

The agent listened to what happened inside the café. Not very interesting at the moment; that's why his mind, or at least a small part of it, started to wander. He had been so focused upon the inside of the building that he had displaced everything else around him. Now the first thing his mind met was ... someone next to him. He was surprised that he had missed his presence before but didn't feel an actual danger; although the one next to him was not human.
Vampire if I'm right. Nothing special here. He was not used to meet vampires, there were none at the Empire, but he had been here long enough to recognize a vampire when he saw one.

He turned his head to face the vampire, hopefully that this one would leave soon.

"A refuge?" he lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply. "Welcome to my nation then."

He thought to himself,I know you tell the truth, yet I have reason to be concerned with ones I don't know, and even those I do. The covens are coming, whether I like it or not. You see, I gave them quite a hard time, and a run for their money in laymest terms. If one can not rise up against me, they all will. But their not strong enough yet to pose a threat to me, nor Gene, nor Kenja, nor Seth. Vladlupe was nervous. He was locked inside the café. This itself did not worry him. He could easily smash through the window with little risk of injury. What worried him was that he did not know why the café was locked.

"I...have yet to decide on my course of action" he said, coolly.
