[OOC: Ok, I wanted to try and be creative while giving the nations of NS OOC knowledge of some of the stuff that's going on inside the empire. While only a very, very small portion of all of this would be known, if any, like I said this is intended for OOC knowledge and not IC.]

Brief history of the association between the NiMBUS Corporation and the Steel-Orion Empire.

After the incident involving Rei Warheit (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=91315), it was announced (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2324678) that NiMBUS Biotechnologies would be the sole producer and developer of biotechnology in the Steel-Orion Empire.
Soon after, the NiMBUS Corporation had become that largest commercial entity in Steel Butterfly. 19 out of 20 homes contain its products. Its political and financial influence is felt everywhere.
In public, it is the Empire's leading producer, developer, and supplier of:
*Computer Technology
*Medical Products
*Healthcare
Unknown even to 99% of its own employees, its massive profits are generated by:
*Military Technology
*Genetic Experimentation
*Viral Weaponry
With government contracts to do as it pleases, the NiMBUS Corporation is free to take whatever actions and whatever risks that are necessary in order to ensure the safety of the Empire and its citizens.
Subject II:
Sky Marshall Zephyr's personal opinion to Emperor Nemerov regarding NiMBUS Biotechnologies.
"While these corporate freedoms have led to some unfortunate incidents in recent history, I personally feel that any losses are particularly and undoubtedly overshadowed by the significient gains achieved during these application experiments. The military is greatly appreciative."

Reply to Sky Marshall Zephyr's letter regarding the NiMBUS Corporation.
"While many of the current happenings regarding the NiMBUS Corporation may seem to the untrained eye as meaning less slaughter and/or horrific experimentation, the corporation assures me that they have gained much while the government continues to allow them to perform such worthwhile experiments.
I am yet still skeptical about the very nature of the NiMBUS Corporation's existance, however I am pleased to see the highly professional and informative way that this business is being run.
Because NiMBUS's predecessor's main focus was unfortunately on cloning, achieving genetic perfection, and eventually mass genocide while hiding behind the mask of secrecy to me and my Imperial Seal to the Empire, the fact that the NiMBUS Corporation tells us anything, let alone the multitude of information and updates that they have provided for me and those of my choosing, is quite comforting."

The illusiveness and apparent lack of a formal leader of NiMBUS.
"It has become apparent that NiMBUS never seems to deal with us using the same person twice. That, mixed with the recent relaxation of corporate laws in the Empire, has effectively shielded the NiMBUS Corporation's leadership from even government recognition.
Upon further investigation with Intelligence, I am gravely disturbed to discover that not only do we have no information or surveilience on NiMBUS, but the information that was peviously held has been all but erased. With all due respect to the Empire, the Emperor, and NiMBUS Biotechnologies, we do not need and cannot handle another incident like the one involving our former genetics agency and ex-Sky Marshall Rei Warheit. I shall not stand idle while basic security precautions are disregarded and surpassed by those who we should keep the closest of eyes on."

Corporate response to notes and worries of the Empire.
"Sky Marshall Zephyr, we are pleased of your acceptance of our actions. We feel that these are necessary steps in order to further society's benefits. Remember, hundreds had to die to cure AIDS/HIV (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2401708#2401708), but all the public knows is that our experiments saved millions upon millions. The needs of the many outweight those of the few. We can do nothing more than live by these principles.
Emperor Nemerov, it is only natural to be skeptical about our experiments. This is the sole reason why the true nature of our work cannot be revieled to the public. They are not ready. However, any information that you either require or desire will be promply and accurately delivered.
And as for High General Shockey, we fail to see how it is our fault that your intelligence agency has a stain on its otherwise spotless record. We also find it insulting that you would imply us the capability of doing anything substandard. The outcomes would be too grim for anyone to bear."

"Although my superiors fail to see the importance and fraility of this topic, I for one cannot begin to imagine how an unknown group of CEO's gained the highest security clearance in the Empire.
I am hereby moving the security clearance up yet another level, therefore closing it to anyone without my direct clearance - code validation and verification "ZephyrOmega81Q".
Confidential will once again mean confidential regardless of what must be done to accomplish this. I have no problems with NiMBUS as of now, however I will never work as hard as I do for the Empire, only to have my efforts compromised by a witty businessman looking for a quick buck. I am deeply disturbed at the level of stupidity within this, the Empire of Empires.
