Why did communism fail?

Gyreinos is a small democratic, communist nation, with economy problems. I'm trying my best to improve my economy but I seem to be making it worse because of my ethics.
So, anyway, I was wondering, were the communist ethics the reason why communism failed? Is there any way I could improve the economy of my country without resorting to capatalism?

P.S. I'm not a total communist in real life. I just thought it would be a challenge to go through the game as one.
communism fell as a result of human nature. the ideals of communism are beautiful in their equality, but the ego-dystonic instinct of mankind is greed. people ALWAYS think that they should get paid more for what they do. and the greed of individual humans was too superfluous to overcome the unity of communist ethics. and in the past, communist leaders have been too corrupt to deal with their countries in a fair manner.
I may think that sosialism is best.
In my opinion, communism and socialism are great forms of government that would never fail...in theory. But once you put the human variable into that equation, you get some unexpected results. Humans--not all, but some--can be power-hungry animals who will stop at nothing to corrupt those around them, so that their personal ideals will shine through, turning true communism and socialism into nothing more than a dictatorship. And no one likes being ruled by a dictator.

Depend how pro-sosialsit goverment you have. And I dont like communism or capitalism. We have a mixed goverment, some is goverment some are not. Our country was on the 1th place of what country is best living in.
