OOC: How do you earn money from storefronts...?
Just a simple question I haven't yet been able to figure out...
Many people believe that a nation's budget can increase with storefronts... and my question is... how? As far as I know, storefronts are just RPing out a national industry and selling stuff to other nations... but the money made feeds families etc and actually composes a good chunk of your national budget... so how would that increase your national budget above your listed GDP?
Personally, I'm not stupid enough to believe it, but I know many people who are running storefronts simply to increase their national budget miraculously....

I don't gain any money, well, any considerable amount. I just use my store front as a showcase for my goods.

Don't be silly, everyone knows that everything sold in storefront threads are things that magically appear with no cost, and all the money made in the sale is profit that is added to your budget. And it's only reasonable to set aside a huge percent of your budget every year and not spend it on stupid things like "education" and "healthcare" and "military equipment/training" and "public works" and "food."
Because, you know, that's the way things work in real life.

What if business is owned by the government?
you still won't get much in terms of profit. maybe 10-20% of the sticker price. so on a 100$ rifle thats. 10-20$ each sale. you would need to sell, about 100,000 of them to get a million dollars worth of profit.
the margin is even thinner on bigger ticket items. tanks, planes, ships. maybe 10-20 million on a billion dollar vessel.
