After the moderate success of the inaugural GESFL season (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1622041), and the equally successful GESFL second season (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=94186&start=0), The Giant Evil Spider Football League is pleased to announce the imminent onset of the GESFL’s Third Season. Host’s for this seasons tournament will be Little Miss Muffet. The 3rd season matches will take place here. (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=108650&highlight=)

Any Giant Evil Spider nations or puny edible human nations fronting squads of genetically- (or otherwise-) altered spiders who wish to participate should post here. Participating in GESFL seasons one or two is not required to participate in season three.

GESFL Standings as 3rd Season Gets Underway

The third season of GESFL will follow the same format as seasons one and two, each side will play each other side home and away. At the end of the season, the top two sides will face each other in a Championship Match, the winner taking home the Arachne Cup.

Octavius Prime generously provided The Red Queen a spiffy score generating spreadsheet! At the suggestion of the Sultan of Dire Arachnia, the formula for DEFENSE has been altered ever so slightly (see, that way, if it really s_cks, The Red Queen is off the hook) :wink:

Ahh....excellent. I've been looking for just such an opportunity. I've already got about fifteen or twenty newly-captured dire-FIFA spiders out back. Right now they're dumb as bricks, but I'm sure I can teach 'em how to play football. It's not like we're the first to try, after all.

The Oppressed Spiders of Pedriana will gladly participate.

Hi! Tasty human puppet nations are no match for us. This time we shall feed human flesh to the tarantulas before each match, and then win while we aren't hungry. It's a new plan! Yeah! And one that's sure to work.

Please include our spider children from Shelobs Obsession in the third season of GESFL. We will be returning to spread the good tidings and cheer to eight legs everywhere. (Though we may well be dispensing with that sorry human manager that led us to an ignoble eighth place finish last time around.)
