One other thing, I'd really like to see how exaclty are you going to get an armed van or a car bomb into our borders, especially from Rasmossen...

We'll figure out a way...

Secret IC:
Johnson picked-up the phone in his warehouse in a town in north NZ, very close to the border with Rasmossen.
"Hello...?"
In Rasmossen, the other side of the line, Mr. Scott, a DSRO commander, spoke quietly. "pass to channel 4."
"Oh Mr. Scott... How are you today?"
"Fine... Listen, we need you to get that truck from your garage out to Craftburg street, and our men will pick it up."
"Right now?"
"Yes, make sure you're not followed."
"Of course sir."
"Good luck... Out."
5 DSRO members were waiting in Craftburg street for the truck. They saw many soldiers acroos the street.

Threat of terrorist attacks in NZ are recieved daily, therefor most of our soldiers are on the streets and in Rasmossen, which we occupied.

The soldiers were moving from house to house, doing their usual checks, especially in towns near the border.
They noticed 5 men standing outside a small cafe, just standing. They looked like local residents, so no one asked questions.
The soldiers weren't even surprised when a atruck came, because on it they saw the logo of that small cafe. Again, no one saked questions...

The men quickly jumped into the back of the truck.
"So," Johnson said, "I assume you're DSRO's..."
"Indeed we are." One of them answered. "Just drive to the chosen location."
"Of course. Ness Ziona City. About 14 hours with this truck..."
"Whatever it may take, just drive."
He took the closest freeway and headed south, to the capital, with a truck filled with C-4.

In the IIST building, an officer ran towards the big office at the end of the hall, and when he got there he was almost breathless.
"He opened his mouth!"
Murphy, The old general, wasn't surprised. "I knew he would. They all always talk and talk to the media, so they talk here too. What did he say?"
"He said that the truck is somewhere in the north district, and that the main target is the capital."
"The capital!? They're stupid if they think they can hit the capital in these times."
Maybe, but there's a bomb-truck on its way there."
"Right. Call lieutenant Brandenberg, he'll know what to do with it."
"Right away sir."
1 hour late, more than 800 soldiers were spread around the capital, covering all the roads into it. It seems no one could get in without authorization.

OOC: gotta go, post tomorrow, cya.

About 13 hours passed, and the men inside the truck were getting nervous. They knew about the soldiers guarding the capital, and they knew that they're just 10 or 15 minutes away from a checkpoint.
Their target is the North-Hampton train station, one of the most crowded station in the nation, with tens of thousands of passenger passing there each day, and it was also the only important target close enough to the checkpoints (OOC: I got the info from NZ by telegrams).
One of the men picked-up a satellite-phone and called another DSRO member.
"Hello? Are you there Jim?"
"Yeah I can hear you" Jim answered.
"Are you ready? we're getting close."
"Yes I'm ready. I think I can see your truck from here."
"Ok so you'll know when to do it."
"Of course I will."
When the truck was about 20 meters from the checkpoint, 3 vans blocked the 2 out of the 3 lanes of the road, and 21 men armed with M-16 each jumped out and shot at the soldiers, there were only 9 in that checkpoint (OOC: again, info from NZ).
The truck-driver drove through the open lane. He was relieved, although he had a lot to pass before he'll get to the target.

2 soldiers survived the shooting. They immediately called for backup.
"This is checkpoint 4, North-Hampton. Requesting assistance, one heavy truck with a cafe logo considered dangerous, on the main raod, heading south."
"Checkpoint 4, this is the national guard, do you have any idea of what's the target?"
"I have no idea. I'm not sure but I believe the truck's loaded with explosives. I recommend you send a helicopter."
"Got that. Sending assistance."
As they were speaking, the national guard (NZ police forces) commander ordered 3 helicopters to locate the truck and to call for more forces if needed.
Meanwhile, the truck was about half a km away from the station, about 10 minutes of driving, and the helicopters were just taking off. Many knew they won't make it in time. No one could find the truck.
it was early morning, and the North-Hampton station was crowded as usual.

"Faster! faster! Faster!" One of the men shouted at the driver.
"Damnit I gotta push those small cars aside..."
"You're driving a truck and you're gonna blow up a train station! push the goddamn cars!"
They saw the station at the end of the block, many people outside, coming in, coming out, many taxis waiting outside.
The access road leading to the underground parking lot under the staition could be seen. They knew exactly where they're supposed to leave the truck, and exactly when to blow it up.
"Ok this where I should go in?" the driver asked.
Yeah this is the road. Go down and I'll tell you where to park it."
"Of course."
"But remember, we don't want screw-ups, once we're in the right place, run your ass off. You'll need to be 2 blocks away when their National Guard will be at the site."
Inside the parking lot, they quickly packed their gear and jumped out. One man stayed for a moment to set up the bomb, the rest ran away.

"There it is! There! Moving underground!" One of the soldiers patrolling regularly shouted to his partner. He called for assistance. "I Think we located the threat! Large truck ,cafe logo, North-Hampton. It's in the station here!"
"Got you private, sending troops."
"Please send also medical aid, I think it's their target, and if it is, they'll probably blow it up very soon."
"They're INSIDE the station right now!?" The cammonder shouted.
"Yes they are, that's what I said!"
"Goddamnit! Go there with you partener and shoot what you see!"
"Emm... Alright sir"
The 2 soldiers ran towards the station, and on their way, they noticed 6 men running out of the back exit, crossing the street.
"This is the NZAF! Stop right there! Stop now!"
There was no response, the men kept running. The soldiers fired a few shots at them, they hit one, the others ran away.
Suddenly, an extremely large explosion shook the ground, the 2 soldiers, along with hundreds of citizens around the station, were thrown into the air by a powerful shock wave.
A minute later, when everyone figured out what happened, the station looked like a house after "carpet-bombing". many people, those who could move, started to crawl out of the rubble, and many others came to help them. The sound of siren was heard all over the North-eastern part ot the city, and the news reporters rushed to the scene.
After only 20 minutes, 78 people were reported killed, and 416 wounded.
The Secular Resistance
17-12-2003, 06:56
30 seconds after the explosion, Before anyone noticed, the men got to their pick-up spot, and a second later, a white van approached. They jumped in, and disappeared.
"Mission accomplished." One of them laughed.
"But we lost Mike..."
"that is something we'll have to live with... At least he won't talk in an investigation."
"You right."
"Call the commander, tell him that..." BOOM!
A Hellfire missile split the van in two, and destroyed it. Noone stayed alive.

An official message by the DSRO:
"We reject these claims by NZ about our responsibility for this attack.
NZ knows that there are many terrorist organization in Rasmossen, that act against NZ, and we're not one of them. We also condemn NZ for hurting innocent people with Hellfire missiles.
We shall prevail."

Mr. Scott was in his temporary home, watching the reports from the scene, when he heard the phone ringing.
"Hello. Who is it?"
"Damn you! Nw they're gonna execute another DSRO member!" The furious 1st commander shouted at him.
"Oh don't worry! For that they have about 400 members there..."
"Are you crazy? You declared war on them with this one! They're gonna destroy us! And the worst thing is that they're not just idiots who theat, they really can, and WILL destroy us!"
Mr. Scott laughed and said "You calm down! Remember, I can do more like this one! and it'll be successful everytime!"
"We'll see about that!" And he hung-up the phone.

We sent orders to every base camp - be prepared, and try to stay out of sight.
Meanwhile, we sent all DSRO supporters which are not fighters to the streets of the cities in Rasmossen. Lets see the NZAF against civilians...

It appears that their orders pass quite fast - Our soldiers already reported some clashed with Rasmossen local residents, and they think it'll continue for a long time...
Right now they're throwing stones, wood blocks and Molotovs, but some of them are also shooting with AK-47's.
And to all of you human-rights protectors, the NZAF mostly uses rubber bullets and tear gas when it cleshes with un-armed civilians, we don't just shoot them, so don't worry.

Since NZ was established, the NZAF clashed with the religious population in Rasmossen (that's why it's there actually, the religious terrorists come form there), and unfortunately, now we have to fight an anti-religious population. Why can't we just let them kill each other!?

DSRO, You shall pay for this!!!

These days, 70% of the NZAF are in Rasmossen, and they're now gonna turn this place into a hell on earth for the DSRO.
Meanwhile, another armed brigade will enter the territory (I know it'll cause problems with the religious organizations there, but that's what we have to do), and in a few days, a plan to destroy all of the DSRO camps will be ready.

The militant religious groups in the territory said that if those rioters won't stop, they'll have to respond against the DSRO. If a scenario like this one would happen, it could lead to a civil war in Rasmossen, a very big trouble to the NZAF forces in there."

1 NZAF battalion and an artillery company, were sent to Garth Beach district, escorted by some Apache helicopters, and 3 maintenance units. In this district we found at least 4 large DSRO camps. We know that in this area, like in all of Rasmossen, there are other 4 organizations, but we have evidence that these ones are DSRO camp, simply because we spotted one of their known commanders in one of them, maybe even the 1st commander.

The force will siege these camps, and eventually will attack them if the DSROwon't immediately:
1. Call all of their forces back to their camps.
2. Call all DSRO agents inside NZ to return into Rasmossen.
3. Tell DSRO supporters to go back to their homes, and stop rioting.
4. Leave Rasmossen forever (Even if you have nowhere to go).
We have 4 fanatic religious groups there, do you think we need an atheist one to cause trouble?

A young lieutenant stormed into the office of General de Kaste, longstanding commander in chief of all Knootian forces: “Sir? We have an emergency situation here!”

The lieutenant saluted sloppily and breathed heavy. Quickly, the General answered the salute and took the report that the lieutenant had carried under his right arm.

Secular Resistance Movement, DSRO… he recognised the name. An armed organisation that had a worrying amount of support in pacifist Knootoss. Fighting for the atheist cause… getting into trouble hmm… Ness ziona. The name did not say the Knootian much. Religious freaks, he presumed.

Government want’s immediate intervention, evacuation to Knootoss of…, he read it twice just to make sure 750.000 people! That’s madness!

They want us to do that?!, he exclaimed. The lieutenant nodded: “Yes Sir, the politicians are calling in our allies, Sir. But this is our job so far. We have twenty-three hours.“

Across Knootoss, transport choppers big and small began to take off and headed for the camps. (OOC: and if these camps have airfields there will also be transport planes. That significantly speeds things up.)

An encoded message was sent to Ness ziona by the Knootian ministry of Foreign Affairs:

To: Ness Ziona government
From: Knootian ministry of Foreign Affairs
Priority: Urgent

To whom this concerns: the Knootian government is assisting in the evacuation effort of the Secular Resistance movement camps under provisions of UN intervention. Under the terms of international law, we require that our transport helicopters will be treated as neutral. The people will be provided with a save haven where they will not bother you again.

Even with outside efforts, we cannot hope to complete the evacuation within the timeframe you demanded. We ask that your government provide more time for the evacuation, and that no military action is taken on your part until the evacuation is complete. This, also, in order to avoid any risk of damage to our transports. We would be much obliged if you would comply.

I trust that your government will see reason and work with us to solve this unpleasant situation in the best possible way,

A meeting of the Presidential Council was called, and a decision made based on information known about the 'Secular Resistance'.

"As a secular state we would be happy to host our brothers for as long as is needed. They will find El Hefe very welcoming to their lifestyle. To stand with our secular brothers we will donate plane tickets on commercial airlines to as many members of the Resistance as possible with a destination of El Hefe. Furthermore we are sending transport helicopters and planes to move as many of them as possible.

We would ask the government of Ness Ziona to give more time for the evacuation of these people. Attacks on their camps will take the lives of soldiers and valuable resources - it is in their own interest to give as much time as possible for the evacuation."

---

Hundreds of army transport helicopters took off and began moving toward Ness Ziona. They stopped to refuel at commercial airports every 500 miles - but they had their El Hefe Diamond Cards and their credit was good.

Ahead of them however was an armada of El Hefe landships. These would take as many passengers as possible aboard while remaining outside Ness Ziona. Warships they were, but they were on a humanitarian mission. Punchua fighters flew escort, again stopping and refueling at civilian airports. It was an odd sight to see a fighter taxi up to a fuel pump, though they carried no external weapons.

In the past few years, we let them stay in Rasmossen, in one condition - Attacks against NZ are forbidden (we even arrested some members in order to make sure they won't try).
The attack in our capital, is considered a violation of this 'agreement', therefor, the DSRO have nothing to do here in this territory.
Do not be worried about your helicopters and planes, I'll order not to open fire on them, and every other effort to evacuate these people from here will be accepted.

The transport mesh-rotors had been forces to come up through Central America, then hop the Carribean and refuel in Menelmacar and proceed to NYNJ for their next refueling hop. Then it was on to Newfoundland and then the long hop to Ness Ziona. The transports would load up the landships before taking their final load aboard and moving out to Iceland. Then it was the long hop to the UK and then Knootoss. Some would continue to El Hefe as well.

Captain Jose Mendoza brought the mesh-rotor down in the middle of a camp, the rotors blasting snow around it in a swirling cloud. As they stopped and the snow fell the Flight Officer ran out into the front and began talking to the camp leaders gathered there.

"We will take the women and children first!" he shouted as another chopper landed a short distance away. "Once they are safely away we can begin moving the men. We do not have the room for more than basic supplies - you must leave your weapons and non-essentials behind!"

---

The long armada of landships hovered over the waves of the North Atlantic, slowly rocking in the gale. Guns were laid in storage positions, and crews hurried to prepare as many spots as possible. Most would be sleeping in hallways despite the size of the ships - the only ones that would not have refugees aboard would be the battleships - they would keep watch over the fleet and serve as shepards for the effort.

"Stuff life preservers in all the pillow cases - they will be near at hand and they are soft enough. The transports picked up blankets in NYNJ and Menelmacar - use the Scouts to distribute them amoung the ships. I hope they have their own though - we bought out every Wal-Mart on the way north."

Indeed they had - armed transport choppers landing in parking lots was quite unusual, but these were strange days.

“Hurry up, hurry up!”, shouted the Knootian with a heavy Dutch accent to the awaiting crowd in one of the bases… the rotors on the hastily chartered military helicopter were still running: there was no time to loose with so many people who needed to be evacuated. Fortunately, Greenland wasn’t that far from Europe where Knootoss was.

Thousands had already been evacuated, but it is totally impossible to get out everyone in time, thought the captain of the chopper.

Stuffed with refugees, the green monster got up and turned south, to the ships of their waiting SATO allies from El Hefe, the Greenland sun shining mercilessly on the side…

(OOC: Basically, this evacuation is moving along nicely. The only thing is that it’ll never be completed within that set time. If Ness ziona just posts that he’ll leave us be until the evacuation is complete we can consider the operation done as far as I’m concerned.)

Amazing what a Diamond Government VISA will pay for...

5 huge cargo freighters flying the Menelmacar flag steamed up alongside the landship armada, their bows plowing through the icy seas and churning the waters behind them to a froth. On the foredeck of one was a El Hefe mesh-rotor secured to the deck. The flight crew sat in the cabin and initiated radio contact as they got closer.

"President Marcos, this is Theta Zeta Four escorting SS Northstar, Glen, Wavecrest, Noldorin Dawn, and Nantucket. Over."

"Roger TZ-4 - why do you have 5 freighters? Over."

"During our refueling stop in Savannah we spotted these ships just sitting there - no cargo, crew just relaxing. So we figured we could just load em up - with say a couple hundred thousand blankets, and bring em along. Apparently the credit limit on these cards is really good. Over."

Soldiers of the 3rd battalion were completely shocked. They just stood next to their APC's and tanks, stunned... They never knew that there were also women and children inside these camps. Shit... We almost bombed camps like these! One of the troops thought.
They kept watching the transport aircrafts and helicopters lifting off and landing, taking people that they once thought as fighters, and now they see whole families...

"Sir! An important message!" A newbie communication troop said to his team leader.
"What now!? Can't you see we're in the middle of something?" The officer angrily asked.
"It's urgent!" The newbie insisted.
With a small grin the officer asked him, "What could be that important?"
"Well sir, Lieutenant Colonel Bricks wants to send an urgent message to the NDS."
"Hmmm... And what's in the message, if I may ask?" He suddenly became interested.
"He wants to pull out of the Garth Beach district, leaving onlt the artillery company behind, with 2 maintenance units."
"What!?" He stood up, and became angry again. "Why would he want that!?"
"Well..." The young newbie explained. "He found out these camps are residence camps only, or in another word - refugee camps only."
"Fine, why isn't he telling them that?"
"He's too busy right now, talking to some of the Knootian troops..."
"Damnit... So I have to talk to these idiots at the NDS... Oh well..."

A long and metallic column of tanks and APC's moved along the Garth river, towards the inner land, right out of the Garth Beach district, leaving about 14 pieces of artillery, and maybe 200 troops in the snow, to watch for any attackers (the DSRO is still considered a terror group for NZ).
The government has decided to allow the El-Hefe and Knootian troops to finish their evacuating operation, hoping that it'll be the end for DSRO existence in Rasmossen.

OOC: Well, umh... if nobody objects and the op can go on. *finishes evacuation operation*

Several days later
"That's the last one", shouted the Knootian in charge of getting people into the three transport helicopters that had been sent to a small basecamp at the edge of a snowy plain. (OOC: or so I imagine...)

The secular resistance soldier got into the hovering helicopter with a small jump on the railing. The three huge military flying machines took off and headed south for the last time, leaving behind the last abandoned base.

Dutch Democratic Republic of Knootoss

"Welcome to Knootoss", a goodlooking woman in a neat blue dress explained in crisp English to a group of about 100 men and women of the Secular Resistance movement . "I hope your stay will be most pleasant. Some new clothes are ready for you in the next room."

She put her finger before her mouth, in an attempt to silence the group: "In the coming days, you will have to decide what you are going to do. The Knootian government has offered you all asylum, should you wish to stay, but we can also help you leave for another place; your homeland, or another country if you have relatives there. The government will try to mediate on your behalf.

Should you decide to stay, there are some rules and procedures. For example, you are expected to learn Dutch and demilitarise. You will all recieve a small booklet explaining the procedure."

The women held up a booklet, and other Knootians began to distribute them to the former rebels.

(OOC: Just curious what they are going to do, where they are going to go.)

(OOC: How many did you evacuate and where are they?)

Overwhelmed by the godlooking-blue-dressed woman, the men took a quick look at the booklet they got. They were still holding their AK-47's, although they were never accepted to any place in such a fine way.
Slowly, they began locking their rifles, and putting them on the ground.
"Most of us are in fact Dutch." One of them announced. "The others are German and Irish, and maybe some are English." The people of the DSRO that came to Rasmossen, departed from northern Europe. "We're home, back in Europe!" Another one of them shouted with excitement.
Most of them, though, were still holding their AK's.
"Maybe we're European, true, but we're also proud members of the DSRO. Therefor, we ask the Knootian government to transfer us to a place where we are needed." They didn't say it clearly, but the man was talking about eastern Asia, where most of the DSRO commnders were killed by the NZAF, in remote assassinations.
"We will leave to Asia, while our friends here, and their families, we promise, will not raise a weapong again... Is that accepted?" He asked and waited for a response.

((OOC: Well, we evacuated all of them, I presume. That's 750.000. And most of em are in Knootoss, except those that were taken care of by El Hefe. I don't know how many he took in, but I thought they also shipped most of em to the DDR: I actually have plans for them. ))

That room in Knootoss
The woman in blue looked a bit dumbfounded, she wasn't really prepared to answer complicated political questions, being more of a hostess. But then, from the shadows of a corner in the room, a man emerged wearing a black raincoat.

He took apart the apparent leader-figure, and showed him his ID: "AIVD - Knootian intelligence. Are you the leader of this bunch?"

The man nodded. ((OOC: I am assuming a leader here, if there is no leader for some reason I'll gladly edit and we can find some other way.))

"I am allowed to speak on behalf of the Knootian government", the man spoke with a hushed voice while he carefully led the leader into another room. "And your families fate will be taken care off here, rather well actually, but we do have a request for you. I understand that you want to go to Asia to fight the NZAF... but we have another target in mind."

He thought he saw the man doubt, and continued quickly:
"You will be provided with covert means, by the AIVD, to fight a glorious victory for atheism. What say you?"

"Well..." The uniform-dressed, about 40 year old man took a while to think about the issue. "What do you mean, exactly?" He then carefully asked.
Suddenly his eyes sparked, and he asked with excitement, "Are you saying my troops will be sent fully equipped to fight the NZAF out there, and actually win?"
"If so, then of course I'll agree! Though I don't see what's your interest there... After all, it's just a jungle."

OOC: I'm sure you'd want a reason for the war there - There's a uranium mine in the large island in Asia, that is controlled by NZ, and the NZAF guards the area. Some religious groups on the island started to make trouble there, so the NZAF decided to retaliate against everyone there who's not a NZ citizen/soldier, which means also against us.

The AIVD officer mumbles: "Yes, and no. We don't want you to fight the NZAF now. We would like you to fight certain... Christian fundamentalist governments we disprove of...

He looks the uniformed man directly in the eye: "... I need to be absolutely sure that this remains a secret."

Then he continues:
"We need you to go to the nation called Syskeyia. We have plans for a resistance movement there. Churches will burn in the night. For obvious reasons, we cannot do this ourselves, being allied to them. However they have repeatedly condemned our government for atheist policies, and there are... political reasons... why we want to discredit their government."

The intelligence officer does not like to be interrupted:
"There is no need for worries - we have contacts with another group, highly profressional and in posession of advanced weaponry. Plans will be issued to you in a more - private environment."

"Publicly, you will disarm here. We wil invite some press, a bunch of people turn in their AK's. A nice picture, isn't it?", he smiles, "What the press won't see is that you will be issued new weapons."

He looks the old man in the eyes again:
"If you accept, we will deal with your enemies. That other group I mentioned can strike against the NZAF harder then you ever could. But we need your zeal for dealing with Syskeyia."

(OOC: does he accept?)

A bit confused, he said to himself "Syskeyia, huh?..."
He turned to the officer "Your plan does seem good, and I can't say I'm not impressed. But what should we expect there?" He wondered.
(asuming there's a window) He looked back at the bunch of men outside, and the stack of AK's next to them. Although they looked exhausted, and some of them were taking a nap, he knew they'll never give up their membership in the DSRO. That made him much more decisive "What's the number of troops we're talking about?" He immediately asked.
"What will they carry? How will they get there? Where will they go? What exactly will they do? I wanna know all." The leader demanded.
"As for the NZAF" He added "You don't have to fight them. Once we're gone, they won't have to fight us. They're still atheists..."

Deep undercover, an SIA agent tags the situation and reports back to Syskeyia...

OOC: Uhm... no way you know about this. Really, this is OOC knowledge only. I repeat you do NOT have an SIA agent overhearing this talk or having any knowledge of out future intentions. You never RPed a spy getting in and we're allies so it would be highly illogical.

IC:
The AIVD officer smiled visibly relieved... he hadn't been such a fan of the idea of using the rebels against other targets: the variables of what could go wrong in the operation would be infinitly greater. And Knootoss has a reputation to hold on to: a reputation that had been endangered too many times already. Besides, he thought, what do we have against these NZAF people? They are rather like us..

"Mr. Scott, I would like to discuss all this in a more... private setting. Your logistical questions are entirely justified." He sighed a bit embarrased... "however I must admit that I do not really have full confidence in the Knootian military planning departements, for as far as they can be allowed to know about this even. Therefore my government would like to use a more interactive approach. After all, you have much more experience in such operations."

ooc: I'd like to discuss things over IRC/MSN if that's possible. Do you have either?

OOC: I added you to the list. Now we just need a moment of being online together at the same moment. Sys does not want this to happen straightaway but we need some time to plot anyway:)

IC:
The AIVD officer put his hand in the pocket of his coat and got out a small, coated white card with a date and a time. The Knootian handed it to Tomas Scott, who examined it carefully, there was no logo on the card or anything else that would give away it’s origin.

"Here you are. You will be brought to a temporary centre for newcomers along with your comrades in arms. Don't worry, the accommodations are fine and have been cleared especially for your people and the DSRO. In exactly three days, at the time that is on this card, we will pick you up from that centre and bring you to the meeting place were we will discuss strategy. The others will be there also.”

He bowed towards the DSRO leader:
“Again, I must stress utmost secrecy. Do not show this card to anyone but your closest colleagues. If you wish to take them along this can be arranged. Just keep the group small. Also, I’d like you to inform your people of the temporary disarming but do not tell them about new weapons. Guns are banned in Knootoss for ordinary civilians anyways so they’ll have to turn them in for now anyways.”

The AIVD man looked around, and clearly wanted to leave to report back to whoever was guiding him…
