The Taipei Protocol (Diaoyutai diplomacy thread)
Inside the conference hall, President Chen waits patiently while his bodyguards nearby rehearse the opening one more time. It was Chen's habit to arrive at important events a few hours early, lest he arrive late and unintentionally insult his counterparts.
The clock ticked. The foreign leaders were due in a few minutes.

Katsumoto awkoe as the plane began its descent. The Mitsubushi MU-2 Turboprop glided softly down to teh runway, and taxied to its respective location. The engines powerwd down, and the large Japanese man left the aircraft. He still wished he was with the Empress, but he had a job to do, and planned on doing it.
"Ambassador Katsumoto." A man says in Japanese. "Come this way. Our shuttle is ready to transport you to the conference hall."

Katsumoto simply snuffed. He was a rather imposing figure at 6'1, 180 muscular pounds. However, there was more to him that made him seem like one to be respected if not outright feared. He was wearing a traditional suit of armor in teh Samurai style. The leather plating was blood red, and wasthe mask that hung around his neck was a dark black. The kabuto was tossed over his back, and his hands rested on the Katana and wazikashi set on his left hip.

As the Agrigentian built Airbus landed on the runway, Qu turned his eyes from the martial arts magazine he held in his hand and turned instead to Councilor Chiang Ching wei, the Councilor for a United Asia (one of my foreign affairs personnel, the msot important one) and Foreign Minister Kun, who were both sleeping. He shook them awake, and announced they were there as the two groaned and rubbed their eyes.
As they taxied out to the hangar, Chiang saw that the Japanese leader was dressed like a samurai, complete with Japanese sword and armor.
"Fascinating," he noted. "Wonder if i should bring my dadao to the party."
Chiang's dadao, a large warblade carried by Chinese soldiers since the dawn of time, was a weapon that had seen its share of heads cut off-possibly unlike Katsumoto's katana, which could be purely ceremonial, Kun thought. Or maybe not.
"And maybe I should bring my iron eyebrow staff," Qu retorted. "If you wer dressed traditionally, i wouldnt mind, but being in the state that you are right now, I object."
Chiang rolled his eyes. "I'm not going out there like this while the man has a katana with him."
Qu rolled his eyes and told him tod o what he wanted to.

Twelve men disembarked, including Councilor Chiang, Minister Kun, Premier Qu, General Shin (Marines) and several bodyguards from an elite unit. Chiang carried his dadao, slung casually over his shoulder but where he could reach it quickly, and Qu held his iron eyebrow staff as if it were a rather large walking stick, with a derringer under his jacket. Kun was armed with his trademark double daggers under his coat, and the rest of them toted at least a pair of pistols and a few throwing knives, stainless steel instead of the ceramic composite knives favored by the Banner forces.
They stopped in teh reception area, awaiting the arrival of an orderly to escort them to the reception hall. Qu hoped they wouldnt ask them to leave their weapons outside, for he wasnt willing to sit there and let that Jap with a katana threaten him
"Nihou and Konichiwa. My name is Chang. Please hand over all weapons into the green box."
Chang took a large green steel box and opened the codes. Inside, President Chen's Berettas were already stored.
"If you please..."
OOC: Another double post. The forums must be whacked?
A Sinoese H-8 stealth bomber touchs down at a remote airfield, as arranged previously. A squad of ARSA SOFs added as overt security. They were the first to move out, carrying various small arms that ranged from assault rifles to submachine guns and even LAWs, this was no drill as they fanned out quickly and soon produced a defensive formation to cover the General. Some hid behind other aircraft while others were more open and stood alongside the general's path, their sumachinguns pointed outwards towards the directions of potential threat.
http://www.sinodefence.com/army/individual/fhj84_4.jpg
General Liu stepped out (dressed in full service uniform) once his SOFs have finished their manouvres. Trying to maintain a low profile. He hates being photographed yet the numerous reporters and journals lists were doing exactly what he hates. His four bodyguards accompanied him on to his Hongqi limousine that had arrived and awaited for him. This is the first time he had set foot on the renegade province. He tried to look happy and waved briefly at the swarming crowds of the media. The armed troops then moved back into the bomber with the smae pace of efficiency and professionalism.
He had decided not to bring any of his political colleagues as it seems ironic. The opinions of the Military Junta are unified. Why bother wasting the travel expenses to bring another official when this conference is unlikely to produce any satisfactory results? He through the windows of the car, _Taiwanese security and escort seems so scant, is Chen trying to assassinate him? His mind raced. Instinctively, his hands moved for the sidearms, ready to draw them in danger.

OOC: What is the length of the trip to the conference center and what accomodation facilities are available?
OOC 2: Ignore the epaulets of the man in the picture that indicates PLA Colonel. General Liu's epaulets I would imagine as having a pair of golden Chinese dragons indicating that he is the Supreme Commander of the ARSCF, despite having the rank of General.

General Liu steps out off the car, his bodyguards followed. He walked up to one of the guards at the main entrance, halting before him, he said clearly and jokingly in Mandarin, "Aren't ya goin' to salute me, soldier?"
Almost immediately after the general joked with the guard, a Colonel of the ROTA arrives.
"General, I am Colonel Zhong of the Republic of Taiwan. I will be responsible for your security. Please come this way, I will show you the accomodation facilities. Also, please place your weapons in the green safe."
He then turns to the guard who General Liu spoke to and addresses him in Cantonese.

"Good to meet you again, my old friend." The General was glad that in such a spot of hostility there is an ally. They exchanged handshakes before continuing on.
Liu looks down into the green safe, then he hurrys on but with reluctance. First came the pistols all four of them, all having been encrusted with jade on their handles, all are QSZ-92s semi-automatics, two of which are 9mms (15 rds.) and the others being .45s (8 rds.).
"They are of a very limited edition. They costed me a small fortune so please take good care of them." He said to the guard and Col. Zhang.
Then he took out a metal fountain pen from the breast pocket of his shirt and placed it in the safe.
"That, gentlemen, is a class 4 grenade." He explained. "Well that's about all of my novelty items. Show 'n' tell's over." He joked, masking his emotions.
Without hesitation, Liu spread himself out to be checked with the metal detector.
"What's next, a strip search?" Liu seemed to be in a humorous mood when he joked to the Col. and the guards. He waited for the next phase of the entry into the conference area.

General Shin grunted, hands tightening around his kumdo sword, which was actually hidden inside a cane. He hesitated, and pulled out his throwing knives, which he dropped into the box, but took the cane with him. Of rather advanced age, he needed it anyway to walk with, and everyone knew he wouldnt pull it out on the obstinate Kajiraki official unless the other guy pulled it out first.
Qu held onto his iron staff also, as he was not quite as young as he wanted to be anymore; his term of service as premier was due in about a year, and his successor, Chai Jun, the first female Islandian leader since the Golden Empress several centuries ago, was at home in Hu-kasa, in case he was killed or incapacitated in the meetings.
Everyone else gave up their weapons; the only other weapons they wore were ceramic composite hit plates reinforced with spidersilk, which made the armor about twenty times more strong than regular material. They also had bracers attached, so that if anyone tried to slash them, they could simply take the trauma on their arms or legs.
Shin watched the Japanese man with disdain; a soldier of Korean descent, he fought against the best Japan had to offer, and it was not very much. They had the advantage of technology and superior unity during the 1900s, but now, Islandia had the advantage of unity.
How foolish of the Japanese to present themselves as a threat to all Asia, Shin thought, amused as he limped towards the door. An old bullet in the foot had done that to him, but he exaagerated the limp so that most would underestimate him.
the men padded inside, with Councilor Chiang apologizing profusely to the man from President Chen's staff for keeping onto their blade weapons. He ran to catch up with the crowd, which had waited for him past the security guards, and they walked in.
As the rest of the guests arrive, they are all lead to their seats by their escorts. The bodyguards head to the side of the room and stand still, emotionless.
President Chen clears his throat.
"Zhao An and Ohayo gozaimzu. Welcome to Taipei my friends. We all all here for one purpose, so let us get right into it. Katsumoto, under what basis has your nation claimed the Diaoyutai Islands?"
The General calmly sits down and removes his peak cap, placing it before his table space. He looked at the other delegates and thought:
"That Katsumoto is trying to scare us all. You can always expect ridiculous fashion from the Japanese."
"Is that separatist scum finally realizing the power of nationalism?" His eyes darted to Chen.
He looked at the other delegates with disinterest, except for the old man- Shin, who his mind gives off a hint of respect for.

He anxiously awaited for a change in topic as he twirled the stylus for his Tablet PC in his fingers. What he cared about was finding out why his men got shot at without warning or reason. Another thought entered his mind.
How many of these officers have even seen combat?
The scar from the Markovian bullet grazing his shaven head that he gained as a colonel gave him a sense of contempt for those who acted so powerful without having combat experience.

they're all combat veterans; Qu was a pilot in the Navy, Shin a line general with the Marines, Chiang a sniper in a SF team, and Kun an anti-separatist guerilla in the Dawn Wars of the 1970s.

Shin smiled benevolently at the delegates. "Perhaps you will not mind me, an old man speaking, but I see that we are a bit hung up on the issue here of decorum. I will make a deal; since none of us will strike the other, and since we are all men of honor, I say we give this up and put away our weapons for now."
Shin leaned his stick sword by the cabinet and sat down. After some hesitation, Qu did the same. Chiang had already given up his trademark dadao, and he sat there quietly, awaiting the response from the Japanese.
Kun's face tightened. He objected to even giving up a bit of ground, but he knew that Shin could handle himself; the old man had his share of trophy katanas at home, with rank and uniforms from the Japanese officers he killed to get those relics.
Shin sat down quietly, noticing General Liu, and smiled. It was good to have fellow, uptight generals around, and despite what everyone thought, it was not always a bad thing to be ultranationalistic.

i get your drift. But no one really looks like theyre veterans from the Islandian delegation, cause they're all kinda...old, cept for Councilor Chiang and Minister Kun, who're about forty something. Qu, Shin are about sixties or so, and Shin is retiring soon.
And no one's wearing any medals, only SHin's wearing a military uniform with his rank on it. Everyone else is dressed in suits and ties, which makes the weapons somewhat.... out of place. But still, the two geezers are kinda old, so they need something to lean on anyway and keep up appearances
or deceptions.
And I'm sry to NE; I was offline or i prob didnt realize when Liu fired missiles, so i couldnt direct my missile intercept units to try and hit the SLBMs aimed at his fleet. But I suppose that some units did act independent of direct orders from Command, since there is a standing directive for Islandian units in the East Asia theater to shoot down all ballistic-pattern missiles, regardless of origin.
IC
On the other hand, none of the Islandian delegates were very much dismayed:
a) the missiles werent theirs
b) they commanded troops before, so they knew how it felt
c) except for Shin and possibly Kun, they did not respect Sino very much
"That is a valid question, officer," General Shin said simply, without malice. "And you should direct that question towards General Liu. But my government is curious to know why New Empire sent a fleet there in the first place? We do not condone the firing of nuclear tipped missiles, and records will show our intercept units attempting to shoot down several, but the fact was that NE sent a fleet there. Why?"
Qu held out his hand. "Wait, General Shin. That is not the issue at hand; for now, we must discuss the claims and try to negotiate a peaceful solution that will put all parties at peace."
His eyes wandered to gaze at Katsumoto in a neutral way. He never really liked Japanese leaders very much, but he was not about to let that personal prejudice get in the way of his politics.
"So what do the other esteemed delegates suggest?" Chiang quipped, hoping to defuse the situation.

The Gulfstream G200 gently slipped onto the runway, its twin engines winding down as it taxied into position.
The stocky, middle-aged man slowly rose from his seat. It may have been a short ride, but he certainly had not enjoyed it. Of course the stewardess were not to his liking, but then again they never were. The short nap that would pacify even the rowdiest passengers never came to the General. No rest for the weary, as his mother used to say. He never liked the idea of flying, and even when he was a teenager he enlisted into the Navy right away, to avoid serving in the Air Force. Carefully steering clear of flight school he went on to serve brilliantly as the captain of a PT boat in the Second Islandian Conflict, and patiently climbed up the ladder to command. That patience he once had was now gone and the once mellow man was now quick to anger.
Grumbling he walked out of the airplane and into the sunlight, something that seemed to bother his entourage, but apparently had no effect on the aged warrior.
"Are they going to send someone to pick us up, or are we going to sit here in the sun all day", said one of his bodyguards.
"Be glad its not monsoon season", General Tomaso P. Gallasso replied bluntly. He would just as easily spit on the man as share his company.
Unlike his cohorts General Gallasso personally checked the records of each and everyone of his bodyguards. He knew full well of the man's past, and he did not like it one bit.

The small jet cruised over Taipei International Airport and slowly descended down to the runway. After a short while, the plane came to a complete halt and the doors opened. Six New Genoese Marines followed, armed lightly. Next a man, dressed in a black suit with a black tie, left the plane. He looked at his watch.
"So... when will our ride be arriving?" he mumbled.
"Uh... when an escort comes to pick us up maybe?"
"Shut up."
A group of Mercedes stops at the airport. Inside are a group of army officers in uniform.
They approach the Agrigento and Genoan delegates and introduce themselves.
"Good morning. My name is Huang, Colonel in the ROTA. I'm your escort for the journey to the conference centre."

Shin eyed him neutrally but with an air of disdain; although much older than Katsumoto, he was still very much willing to fight the man if he decided to take matters into his own hands and try to kill those involved. His trusty kumdo sword was less than a meter away and Shin knew Qu could put his iron staff in between the man's eyes if necessary.
IN any case, Shin was done thinking belligerent thoughts, so he smiled conciliatorily and put his hands together.
"What makes you, an insolent scum with little more than a pair of katanas and samurai armor, so sure of your claims?" Qu asked, diplomacy stripped away by his seething anger. THe Japanese had oppressed the rest of Asia for too long, and it was about time Asia responded in kind. "You have the diplomacy skills of a box, and apparently, the brains of the rocks which adorn your precious gardens.
"Too long has Asia been oppressed by scum like you," Qu continued, standing up and pacing around the table slowly. He reached his end after a minute, and continued speaking, eyes showing nothing but disdain and putting a silencing finger in the eyes of his Asian Unity Councilor when he moved to speak. "You decieve us, rape us, pillage our land; it may have been all good and fine when it was in the past, but now, now, the descendants continue their folly. Let me tell you this; Asia of today is not the Asia of yesterday; we are not as weak, ineffective, and as submissive as we once were. Trifle with us, and we'll crush you. Pull out the katana, as a man sitting here at a 'diplomacy' convention or as a nation intent on conquest, and we'll show you who the sick man of Asia is."
Kun turned to President Chen. "I am sorry for this, Comrade Chen, but we are apparently not getting anywhere. How about we adjourn for today and continue tomorrow, and give everyone some time to cool down and rest before moving on with such delicate matters."

Chiang stood as Kun and Shin tried to calm down Premier Qu after his impassioned speech. They were all not as young as they would like to be, and it would soon be time for new people to take their places, but for now, Chiang argued with all the fervor that his forty two years of age would lend him.
"Be as it may that peacekeepers are a good solution for now, we, the government of East Islandia, feel that the long term solution to stablizing the region is for Japan, who currently holds the islands, to grant all nations free fishing rights to the nearby waters. In the past, Chinese fishermen have been expelled from the surrounding area by Japanese ships, and we feel that the freedom of the seas would also guarantee peace. We have already pulled our troops back into international waters, and we await movements from Kajiraki to do the same, and only then will we negotiate a cease-fire. You will have our word that no Islandian or AR (azn resistance) forces will try to take the islands so long as they are uninhabited and unoccupied by Japanese forces.
"Nonetheless, we are pleased that the EOE has decided to intervene on our behalf as an observer, and we are much indebted to them for their wise suggestions," Chiang added, bowing to Mireille.

"Nonetheless, we are pleased that the EOE has decided to intervene on our behalf as an observer, and we are much indebted to them for their wise suggestions," Chiang added, bowing to Mireille.
Mirelle Chiun nodded politely and stood. "With gratitude for the kind words and all due respect to the representative from East Islandia, His Omniferocity has dispatched me here only as an observer. The representative from Sino suggested a General Cease-Fire, and a valid objection to that suggestion was made."
Her penetrating grey eyes swept the faces of the delegates as she continued. "The Dominion's only interest here is securing peace for the furtherance of free trade. His Omniferocity will not take sides in this dispute- save only to urge restraint on the involved parties and applaud ideas and actions conducive to a peaceful resolution.
East Islandia and Taiwan have both withdrawn their forces from the disputed territory without prior agreement as a gesture of good faith and willingness to pursue a diplomatic solution. Can not the other nations involved do likewise? The subsequent reduction of tension on the ground can only make matters here easier to resolve."
She stopped and flushed slightly. She bowed deeply to the representatives, saying, "Once more I have interrupted your endeavors. I apologize on behalf of His Omniferocity's government. I will henceforth be silent unless called upon." She returned to her chair and began tapping out a message on her handcomp.

"Well, we dont mind," Kun said, referring to Ms Chiun's movements. "It does take an observer to bring us back into line, considering our temperaments."
Qu smiled, amused, and turned to address her. "Your services here are very valuable, Ms Chiun, and I am willing to reckon that we are all interested in what you have to say.
"Nonetheless, she does have a point, but i feel that tensions have been raised enough for today. With the blessing of Taiwan and our sincere apologies for letting our emotions control us-" Qu smiled tightly this time towards Katsumoto-"i beleive we should take a recess in order to formalize our positions and re-adapt our war plans, so to speak."
"War plans as in plans for negotiation," Shin said in a benevolent tone.

Katsumoto pondered for a moment before speaking. "No. The island belongs to Japan, and will forever. We will not give it up to a bunch of Chinese bullies. My soldiers on teh island will not leave, nor will my ships leave the area. Should you wish to use the area for fishing, then you may purchase the space to fish from."
Chen cleared his throat.
"That is untrue. Japan ceded the Diaoyutai islands to China in 1945 following the second world war. This is recognised by the Allied nations as well."

In 1971 Japan and the United States signed an agreement returning the Ryukyu (Okinawan) and Daito Islands to Japanese administration. All of the disputed Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands are within the polygon delimiting the returned islands, the coordinates of which were listed in Agreed Minutes that were appended to the 1971 Japan-US Ryukyu Islands Reversion Agreement.[6] Uotsuri/Diaoyu Island is 33 km within the western limit of the polygon. During Senate ratification of the Reversion Agreement, the United States specified that the agreement did not affect the determination of sovereignty over disputed islands. The US Department of State continues to take no position on the sovereignty of the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands.[7]

"It was the Americans who signed the treaty, not us. Now next I suppose you'll go around saying that China-no all of Asia-has no claims to reparations from your government following World War II," Kun said, referring to yet another prickly issue which plagued both sides. "And now you offer us the ability to buy back our own land? To suggest that is even less educated than to say that 1968 comes after 1945. it was also quite childish of you to assume that the imperialist American dogs speak for the Asian people."

While the diplomatic debate continues, troops of the Third Marine Guards Assault Division and First Guards Spearhead Division of the Thirtieth Amphibious Assault Group prepare for possible assaults on Japanese positions in the tiny islands. Artillery and rocketry are standing by, but so far, no Islandians have conducted any hostile maneuvers or aggressive movements, with the forces already present staying inplace, awaiting orders.

"How can you sick-minded Japanese call the Diaoyutai yours when clearly it was bullied off the Chinese, and yet you call us bullies? If you lay such ridiculous and stubborn claim to your empire, you might call even call China or Taiwan as part of Japan, that is, if you are willing to take the powerful Chinese backlash. Japan was defeated in WWII and their forceful takeover of other Asian lands has ended. Only this new generation- your generation of your people, who has never tasted the truth of warfare and hardship that wants to repeat the mistakes of your recent ancestors in the 1930s and '40s."
General Liu raises a hand slightly to fight off the Japanese delegate.
"Let me finish. If you call your people as 'peaceful' then where is the peace in giving us peace and allowing us to mind our own business in peace, such as by simply do what we are suppose to do on a group of islands that belong to us."

Andretti-put me on audio, NOW
The ambassador sighed, and set the Tablet-PC's speakers to the mic in the M/V-16.
"Well, now. This is Andretti, and I'd like to know WHAT THE F*CK WAS GOING THROUGH YOUR PEABRAIN MINDS WHEN YOU GAVE AN ORDER TO SINK A CARRIER BATTLE GROUP IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS WITHOUT WARNING?! Even that bastard Hussein got warning? TOO BUSY TOOTING YOUR WAR HORN FOR THAT? Too busy to realize a CBG IS NOT CAPABLE OF LANDING TROOPS? Well, you may have thought it was the GODDAMN SMARTEST THING TO DO, BUT IF THERE WASN'T NEGOTIATIONS GOING ON RIGHT NOW, YOU'D DAMN WELL WISH YOU HAD NOT EVEN CONSIDERED IT! And as for the goddamn American way, leave that for the f*cking US of A. You tell that to Chief Warrant Officer 3 Richard Simoners, age 30, who has a baby due in 1 month! You tell that to Lt. Jacob Mitchell, who just married 3 weeks ago! You tell that to the other 18 people who died because you don't KNOW SH*T when it comes to common sense! I'm usually much more tolerant with these things, but 20 men did not die so I could put up with your bullsh*t."

Moving on to the SLBMs. "We are still examining who managed to hack into our defense networks and faked my own authorization. I am ever so pissed I was only informed afterwards that some cruise missiles were approaching our shores and that is why fighters were sent to intercept. Someone from within or from the outside is trying to create war! At least the supersonic JL-3s were not launched or else your CBG would be scrap metal."

The Islandians thought that Chen's offer was quite fair, and to be honest, quite funny, even if they didnt show it.
"Gentlemen, perhaps the best course of action is to lay off development from both sides on the Diaoyutai," Kun suggested. HE was through with calling for a recess as Shin wanted, so he decided to move in favor of abandoning all developement on the small islands. "That way, no one can threaten each other, only fish."
Chiang muttered to himself. "I suppose this would be a bad time to bring up the issue of resources in the Diaoyutai region eh," he murmured to himself.

"It is my belief, and certainly the belief of the great country that I represent, that these islands belong, in an administrative capacity as well, to China and/or Taiwan - a matter to be discussed later. However, no matter how strongly I feel, or how strong public opinion is in my nation, and believe me, it is strongly against you Kajiraki, I cannot make commitments on behalf of my nation to support this. The only thing I can do, and I intend to do, is insist that all developments on the island in question are immediately stopped, and that its status as «Uninhabited» does not change.
"Furthermore, all military forces, either Chinese, Taiwanese, Islandian, or Japanese, MUST be removed from the vicinity of the disputed territory. A general quarantine will be placed on the Island, preventing further deployments. This Quarantine will be enforced by the Marina Militare d'Agrigento and perhaps by New Empire as well. OOC1: I wouldnt go quoting WWII, ladies and gents. When I get done with the reversion to WWII tech and finish the history thread, lets just say taht when two very important B-29s are intercepted, and two very important bombs suddenly are in the posesion of Japanese forces, the war has a very different outcome.
-------
OOC2: The following was typed by Imitora, who is now in the other room watching Tears of the Sun (Translated-Making out with my sister...I'm suprised how not angry I am with that?)
The 25 Northampton Assault Frigates hovered in the black empty space, sitting in a geosynch orbit over Honsu. Within seconds, even more could be called in from the Groombridge sector, a mear 11.5 light years away. Carriers could be called as well, and cruisers, battleships, and Ground Assault dreadnoughts.
The mass drivers on the Northamptons or Northies as they were called loveingly by the crews, had been modified, and now followed the old New Empire idea. 17 tubes capable of firing a 50 foot long tungston carbide or nickel cadium shaft at speeds near or above the equivalent Mach 20.
Further, if called, each ground attack dreadnought had thirty of the aformentioned tubes, and with all 60 of the ships opening fire at once, could take out an entire country. Those who had seen or heard of Operation:Bitch Slap, a.k.a. The Deazemani incident, where very well aware of the results of a mass orbital bombardment.
The Carriers themselves could wipe out entire airforces. In the seclusion of Imitora following the civil war, advancements in UCAV technology were taken in leaps and bounds, and now fighter pilots in the Imitoran Air Force and Space Air Combat Force were few and far between. Each carrier had near two hundred fighters, and could flood the air with them.
If the Chinese attacked Imitoran's Japanese allies, it wouldnt be a war, but a massacre. High Grand Admiral Dean Winslow of the Imitoran Space Navy was glad that the government decided to hide the ships in an uninhabited system, and not destroy them outright. He smiled almost evil as he puffed on his cigar, looking at Islandian, Sinoese, and _Tawainesse movements. Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Clause, and he screams towards the Chinese at Mach 20. He pressed a button on teh console of his heavily modified Northampton command firgate, and quietly, a tango began to play.

two can play at that game, Imitora/Katsumoto. Since my allies called me up, here goes.
IC
Twelve Stellar Dream class interdictors moved silently in the black stillness of space, with only running lights on. Inside the ships were the red lights of battle alerts, and on the bridge, Force Admiral Chun stood passively, viewing the Imitorans in their battle formations. Another five Tantamount Assault Interdictors, the pride of the WCS fleet, and five Sekhmet class swift cruisers were inbound, and with them, the Aisho and the Fist of Theta, two Yamamoto class carriers carrying about three hundred or so starfighters each.
"ETA to fleet arriving in-system is thirty seconds," Ensign Jai reported. "NEarest jump point is Arga Major."
"Make it ten," Chun ordered as he keyed his tactical displays and studied the layouts of the ships carefully. "Deploy Saijou Wing, Ko-nua Wing, and Arga Wing. I want a fighter screen up and Alpha Chrono strike packages ready for action. Get the Zulu Vektors and the Taishos to do a fighter sweep and see what they can get."
The Taisho was the newest fighter in the West Coral Sea fleet, sleek, silver fighters which could easily outfly or fight to a standstill the nimblest fighter fielded by any NS space tech nation.
"Sensor readings, sir," Ensign Jai reported again. "Admiral's Revenge and War Cloud have arrived wiht their complement."
"Form up and begin manuevers," Chun ordered. "Fire on my mark."
the Assault Interdictors unleashed their disruptor arrays, enough coherent light to wipe out a planet, against the dreadnaughts. in the meantime, Stellar Dream interdictors launched salvoes of Starflare missiles and their EMP arrays, while Sekhmet class swift cruisers darted in and out of the enemy ranks, their missiles and disruptors needling the enemy tirelessly.

Battle Group 4 has arrived from the Reika System and have taken up position near the moon, awaiting movements of Imitoran ships. There were two Tantamount assault interdictors, a carrier, five Stellar Dream interdictors, five Nioro cruisers, and six Sekhmet class swift cruisers, as well as two, dark, fleety ships that darted in and out of the formation.

Winslow chuckled. He observed the manuvering Agrigentonian fleet, watching as the ships approached the island. It would be a shame to have to decimate it, but it would be done, none the less. He never did like the arogant Itallians.
He looked over reports of the WCS fleet moving in, and noted it, but didn't care. Even if they did attempt to atack his ships, by the time they launched an attack, the ortillery would already be on its way.
The simplicity of orbital bombardments amazed him. The 50 foot long rods were non explosive, yet they could rip anythign in their path to shreads, and leave little survivors on impact. Anti-Balistic missles were useless, as somethign with the mass of one of the rods moving at ultra sonic speeds would just absorb the explosion and keep on comming. And anti missle lasers did nothign to them, as they were already coated with enough ablative material to slide through the atmosphere effortlessly. And wiht a thin layer of reflective coatings, physical lasers would bounce right off.
He went back to the task of deciding what to do with the WCS fleet. When he decided, he alerted the other ship commanders to the plan of what would happen should the attack come, and went back to studying fleet movements. He saw everythgin as it happened, the beauty of a space fleet. He didn't need to rely on satalittles, spy craft, or the like. He could simply hover over the target, and watch in real time.

Katsumoto looked at the Agrigentonian representative. "This does not involve you or your nation. But maybe it does if you are another impearialist pig who only wishes to take from us that which is ours. Again, you may all safely use the waters if you wish by paying to use them. A meeting will be set to confirm appropriate prices should you wish to stop your foolish impearialist ways, and leave the island."
He then looked at the Tawainese man. He then looked down at the money on the table. "Thats more than I would pay to insure the safety of your kind."

"I am glad to hear you are willing to join us in this Quarantine, though it does mean that our forces will be partially acting as one. We may be forced to attack Kajiraki troops and/or ships... Are you really willing to do that? Or is this talk of peace simply a show of words?"
"Katsumoto, mutually assured destruction works both ways. Besides, I have already given you an offer."

"Should we have to use force to down any vessel, we will use our Microwave weapons to disable their electronics rather than kill. I don't want to make anybody die on either side. But if we are attacked, we will respond IN FORCE."

Katsumoto shrugged. "And I have given you one."
"So how many of us are in support of the Chinese claim to Diaoyutai?" General Liu decided it is time to probe the delegates outright. "And who's with Kajiraki- the aggressor?"

"It doesnt matter who's in the right, General Liu," Shin chided him gently. "We have to remember that saving lives is the primary objective, working out a satisfying solution is the secondary, and that saving face is tertiary. We dont want annihilation from above, we dont want annihilation in the seas and skies, and we dont want senseless warfare. Isnt that what's being done right now?"
OOC: When the hell is the first day of the negotiations going to conclude, I'm sure our delegates are getting damn tired. And where is the accomodations? We're people too; we need to eat, sleep and mow the lawn (not mowing Taiwanese lawns because we're visitors).

"Wait a minute," the General could not believe his ears "I thought the guarantee of Chinese territorial integrity is first?"
"Precisely ; The intergrety of Taiwanese territory must be preserved, although we have made many concessions."

Liu frowns at Chen's direction. That sonuvabitch! If I have my pistols with me, I'd kills his bodyguards then him. And I don't care if the others see it. I'd probably empty at least one whole clip of .45s on his chest! The General ponders violently at his misguided compatriot who refuses to accept his racial identity.
Chen, noticing the look on the General's face, looks right towards his bodyguards.
OOC: Where the hell is everybody else? Did they RP their delegates to fall asleep during the conference? LOL
