Jeanne: A very disturbing bill that has been proposed by the Ecotopia Party has thrown the Taligari Senate into chaos. The Defense Force Act which the Ecotopia party has created would create a large Reflex Defense Force for the first time in the 11 year history of the Pacifist nation of Taligari. The Ecotopia Party has managed to get the bill through the first round of Senate Voting with support from the Silico Party, the Extreme Christian Party, the Echo Party and the Labor Party.

The Vortus Party, the Balance Party, the Zero-1 Party, and the Pikachu Party attempted to form a Counter-Voting Block but with the vote of 262 For the Bill and 211 Against the Bill the bill passed through the First Round of Voting. Now the Senate will discuss the bill in the next Session to add improvments then vote in the Second Round of Voting if it passes then the President may sign the bill into Law, Veto the Bill, or declare Pax Unhappi (meaning she can send it back the Senate saying that she would sign it but only with changes to it that he or she wants). The President Ali Yia Atreus has already said that she will not sign the bill, but with the new Voting Block in support of the bill all they would need to do is to vote to repeal her Veto and have the bill passed into Law.

However in the Taligari Constitution, it is outlined that the nation is the be a pure pacifist nation and the High Court would most likely find the Bill Illegal but the Ecotopia Voting Block will try to have the bill changed into an Amendment-Bill, which would change the primer of the Taligari Constitution and the Courts would have no choice but to accept the Bill as Legal. How this will turn out I don't know but I can only hope that it won't bring about the end of our nation's values."

Protests in the Major Cities of Taligari!

Within just five minutes of the announced First Round Passing of the The Defense Force Act massive protests erupted in the major cities of Taligari. The cities of Poruga, Alig, and New Alia, were the most hard hit with an estimated 1 million protestors in total in full force in the three Central Cities of Taligari.

"This Bill is Illegal, it also is a slap in the face of all of the morals and reasons for the creation of the Pacifist State! The People who proposed this bill need to have a CAT Scan before being allowed to continue to serve as Senators!" Screams Jennifer Willigor, 18 and one of the many Protestors in Poruga.

"Why are these children protesting this bill? After all if we remain pure pacifist we only invite an invasion from one fo the many dictatorships that exist in the world, they would just invade and destroy the democracy we have worked so hard to get. Besides what is being proposed is a Reflex Defense Force, not an Army of Invaders." Senator Korday Lovegood, 34 and a member of the Ecotopia Party

"I will do everything in my power to stop this bill from passing, but with the Ecotopian Voting Block all my actions are going to be for nothing." President Ali Yia Atreus, 20 and a member of the Balance Party.

OK, a Reflexive Defence Force could help your people, it would make more jobs, which would reduce the chance of a rise in unemployment levels, it would give the people a strong force to look to in times of trouble and stress, plus it could be used for Disaster Relief purposes, and it could be organized like an Army Reserve, like many nations have, members have a civilian job, but serve on Active Duty for a period of time every month, then go back to their civilian jobs, if the Defence Force Act is passed, we offer help to train it's members.

We'd like to pose a question to the President of Taligari, a very important one, it is this: Supposing a nation like ours, famous for it's elite Armed Forces, were to invade Taligari this very day? what would you do then without a Defence Force to protect you?

That question was asked of Lady Yne Taimo when she wrote the nation's constitution and I think her answer says it best, "If we were invaded the people would protest using peaceful methods, our nation is to exist as a haven of eternal peace and to resist the temptation of war there must be no military force or weapons in our nation." For 11 years our nation has existed under the Pacifist Principles of the nations first President Lady Yne Taimo and we have not be threatened, why should that change?

Why should that change? look at how many dictatorships there are why don't you!?!

You should do it because peaceful protests will not stop the invaders from strip mining your resources, taking forced workers to be shipped back, from either anexing your contry or just leaving it to rot as a shag heap.

The Bill of, The Defense Force Act has managed to pass 273 to 200 in Round Two of Voting, now it shall be sent to the President for either it's signing, veto, or Pax Unhappis. Within the hour we will have an answer.

Jeanne: "As you know by now the Taligari Senate has been consumed by the controversal bill that would create a defense force, a proposal that would end Taligari's 11 Year Golden Age of Pacifism. Already on the street Alia's Announced Intention to Veto the Bill has gained massive support and popularity for her, the massive group of protestors in the streets are already calling her a "Living Saint" and there are reports of a group of Women worshiping Alia as a Messiah-God.

Now for the live transmission of Alia's Decision.

[Feed Swiches to Alia in the Senate Chambers, the Entire Senate is there, Alia sits at a small table on the floor, she smiles and picks up a small stamp and pounds it on the copy of the bill]

"Vetoed" she says.

[Feed Swiches to Crowd Outside, massive statues and images of Alia are seen being raised up high as the Protestors celebrate the veto]

[Feed Swiches Back to the Senate]

"Now," Alia says, "Now the Senate will hold it's Vote, if a 2/3rds majority votes yes the bill will still pass, vote now.

[The giant screen on the wall behind the main podium swiches on and after a few minutes broadcasts the vote total, 450-50, Bill Passed]

Now Alia's face is filled with such saddness and pain that it wrenches the heart, "So end the Golden Age of Peace" she said her voice filled with saddness and pain.

[Footage swiches to the crowd outside where the mood is getting very ugly, the massive number of police begin to try and break up the crowd (not easy to break up over a million people)]



"So.... ends... Taligari as we... *sob*... knew her... the Golden.... *hiccup* Age is.... over."

Very well, a Soyokaze-Class chopper will be sent, it carries 30 Armed Forces Instructors, they are experts in topics ranging from Close-Quarters Combat, to Field Artillery, to Intelligence Operations, to Logistics, and so on, where should they land?

The Port of Geonoxi, it is where our military will be centered for now.

Geonoxi: the large chopper moved swiftly through the air, with it's precious cargo of 30 Kechan Military experts, as well as some gear, books, etc..., the Pilot radioed in to the Port Authority:

"Geonoxi Port Authority, this is Whiskey-Four-Foxtrot, Armed Forces craft, heavy with 30 passengers and light cargo, inbound, request guidance and landing clearance, over."

"Permission Granted, land on platform 2"

"Aye Geonoxi Port Authority, moving in, please clear the Landing Zone"

The chopper moved in to the designated LZ and slowly settled down, shutting down it's engines after a moment, the doors opened and the Armed Forces Instructors slowly filed out, stretching their legs, etc...

An Ambassador and a small escort of Police Officers (all armed with non-lethal weapons as was still policy) came out of the elevator (the platform is on the roof of the airport) and greeting the Instructors and he said, "Hello, welcome to Taligari..." he then pasued as he heard the dull throb of the noise of the massive group of protestors down on the ground. "Welcome to a nation that exists for the reasons of peace but has been thrown into chaos by the creation of an army and the rise of Aliaism."
