With the elections for a new President of Taligari comming up and the announcement that Lady Yne Taimo would not run for a third term and announced her retirement from public service the various Political Parties of Taligari are now fighting political battles to get their person in office. The Balance Party, Candidate; Alia Yia Atreus: As a former student of the Lady Yne Taimo, Alia has quickly become the poster child of the Balance Party (which was the part of Lady Yne Taimo). Alia has declared that if elected she will continue the policy of pure pacifism practiced by the Lady Yne Taimo. She will also support enviromental protection and a continuation of Free Medicare for people over 60 years of age, she will also force the Senate to ban Corporate Soft Money Donations that have proven to be a major source of income for the more corrupt elements in the Taligari Government.
The Tree-Lover Party, Candidate; Merrik Uia Bushadi: A radical enviromentalist who tried to pass a bill in the Senate that would make the chopping down of a single tree punishable by the death penalty. Merrik has promised to be an unstoppable machine in the protection of Taligari's Enviroment, even if it costs the nation severely in the Economic Department. She will pretty much force a form of Ecotopian Government on Taligari that would require a small Military Defence Force and an official Ecotopian Protection Group to protect the enviroment in other nation (in essence a Terrorist Organization). He would create an isolationist policy in Taligari that would cut it
the nation off from the outside world so that the people might better find "Enlightenment", he would also change the name of the nation from Most Serene Republic to Quiet Isolated Republic.
