I have set up this simple GDP calculator based on information from the forum, it is very easy to use and hopefully will be improved soon. Please leave notes etc to say what you think and to give any ways of improvement.

There are -so- many different ways to calculate GDP, especially military budget... just play within reason, because no script can sort out your GDP, only you can.

Of course, for the official National Budget, that's easy... just look at the economy listing, and whip out the windows calculator, and type population x average income x 0.tax percent

But of course, you can't spend all, or even half of that on military.... so be realistic.

This is just my attempt to show people roughly what the different levels mean, I found out the information from the forum.

Could you tell me the information you entered, and what browser you are using please. (i.e. IE6 etc)
And does your computer block Javascript?
The program is not intended to have boxes to enter information, popup windows should appear when the page loads. Try now, if it still doesn't work it may mean
1) You have an old browser that doesn't support this part of Javascript
2) You are blocking Javascript
3) You have anti-popup window software.

It should work anyway now, you may have tested during it's iffy period.

and if you still cant figure it ou

K, javascript is working now. The first time i went there, there were no pop-up windows.

I am using mozilla 1.2.1

You should make a note when typing in the population that you need add the zeros to make it into billions, otherwise the army will be 40 people :).

(or you could tell the javascript to auto add the billions)

I like this one much better. It makes more sense, as far as expenditures go and whatnot.

A real good calculator is at: http://www.esyn.org/SOTA/NationStates.html
Just type in your nations name and how much you want spent on the military and WOW! You now know how good your nation is!

Yeah that one ain't bad I have to say but I'm sticking to mine. If only they could meld the two ya know?

Your military will be roughly 5% of the population. So roughly 41050000 (This is only a rough guide.)

41,050,000? I'm not sure if that is realistic...

it's just piggybacking onto pipian's (http://www.pipian.com/stuffforchat/gdpcalc.php?nation=).

it's more user friendly though

Could you tell me a better figure, this may not be that accurate, however if I can find a better figure I will improve it.

Government budgets aren't such a simple thing that you can make a good program to calculate it for you.
